Hi and welcome Andrea! You'll see that many members share your love of Shakespeare, Austen and Dickens! I myself love Shakespeare and Austen! Enjoy and happy reading! :)

Thanks :)

Andrea, I agree, Shakespeare is wonderful <3 I hated his work when I was a teenager, but now appreciate it more every year!

I love reading books, I read almost everything that I can get (young adult and horror excluded) but my passion is with the classics. I've already read many but I'm always happy to get new recommendations or have a nice reread. My favourite so far is Dostoyevskys "The Idiot". But I've read Austen, Dickens, Barrie, Melville, Brontë, Stoker, Hemingway, Twain, Hugo, Molière, Voltaire, Tolstoi, Dostoyevsky and so on :). (Which all are my favourites ^^)
I love discussing books and I love it even more to get to know different opinions about them and why and how the impressions differ that much while reading. Feel free to share your thoughts with me, I would be happy to read them :).
I hope to have some great book discussions and a great time :). Read you soon.

Hi and welcome Kathi! You've listed some fantastic authors! Glad you're here to read the classics and have discussions with us! You will have a great time in this group, I guarantee it! Enjoy and happy reading! :)

Hi and welcome Kamala! It's the greatest thing to travel through a book and travel we do in this group, so enjoy yourself and happy reading! :)

Hi and welcome to our group. I'm so glad you found us.
Hi and welcome to our group. I'm so glad you found us.

Hello everyone, my name is Tara. I'm from the United States. I love classic literature, and books in general . Dostoevsky is my favorite author of all time. I've been a lurker in this group for awhile, and thought I'd finally try actually participating. I'm pretty shy, but am looking forward to discussing the classics with everybody in the near future!

Hi and welcome Tara! No need to be shy here! We all love to read the classics here and have discussions! Trust me, you'll have a blast! Enjoy and happy reading! :)

Hi Tara! I'm glad you decided to introduce yourself. I'm normally a very shy person, and am usually just a lurker too. This is a great group though with very friendly and supportive people, and I've actually started commenting a little more instead of just lurking. I look forward to discussing classics with you.

Welcome to the group Tara ^^

Hi Connie, welcome! Happy reading! :)

This profile was created some months ago with the purpose of exchange insights, impressions and reading experiences, however due to a hopeless lack of time I was much less active than I would like. Now, however, I hope to be more active and able to interact with you more, very nice community , by the way.

Welcome Pedro! I too enjoy Russian literature! I'm glad you've joined the group! Enjoy yourself and happy reading! :)

Thanks for the kind welcomes, everyone. I noticed that the group will be reading One Hundred Years of Solitude next month. I've been wanting to read that book for awhile, so I am looking forward to next month's discussion!

I love to read and watch movie adaptations based on books I've read, and some of my favourite Authors that I continuously read include: Jane Austen, John..."
Hi and welcome Nyakallo! You've listed some great authors! I'm sure you'll enjoy the group! Happy reading! :)

Welcome and hi to Tara, Connie, Pedro, and Nyakallo! I'm so glad you found us and have joined the group.

A slew of new members!
Welcome everyone!
The more the merrier!
And what is merrier? Having new people join so that everyone has even more enthusiasts to discuss classics!

I have loved reading ever since I was a child. When I was working on my Masters degrees, I didn't have time to read. Now that I have graduated, I'm trying to make up for lost time. Among my favorite authors include Jane Austen, both the Bronte sisters, and Margaret Atwood. I just got through re-reading the Harry Potter series and have ordered the Once and Future King. Since the Harry Potter story is essentially a re-telling of the Once and Future King (or so i've been told), I figured I had better read it.
Hi Deborah and welcome to the group. You sound like a busy person -- so glad that you are finding time to read now!

Welcome, good to hear from another Texan and sounds like we have some reading interests in common as well. I am fairly new on this group as well, but am looking forward to some of the books being suggested for Feb. I have several planned reads for Jan but hope to jump in in Feb. I am already enjoying this group.

Hi and welcome Deborah! I also enjoy Austen and the Bronte sisters! There are many members here who enjoy them as well. I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here! Happy reading! :)

Welcome Deborah--I like all of your favorite authors, and The Once and Future King is one of my all-time favorite books. Hope you enjoy it.

I'm a retired anesthesiologist. As my daughter is 20 years old and studying at the moment, I have a lot of time to catch up my reading and I hope to read or re-read the classics with this group. My favourite is LOTR.

Hi y'all. I'm Pam from Indiana. I'm 38 and work as a bookseller in an independent bookstore here. I'm married but no kids.
I read a lot more contemporary literary fiction, history, anthropology & religious books from all religions. I have a ton of the Barnes & Nobles classics loaded onto my reader and figure this is a good group to work through reading all those ;).
Other than reading I also run & occasionally knit. Do some traveling too.
