Welcome to the group Valon. I am glad that you have joined us. I hope to discuss books with you soon. We are just starting our November group reads, I hope that at least one of them appeals to you. Happy reading.

Our names are Stephen and Reina. We are a couple who enjoy learning together and reading classic literature together. We are from Arizona and have been married for almost 9 years. We homeschool our three children and Stephen works as an educator in a classical school. We look forward to meeting and connecting with other bibliophiles!
We just started a blog on our own as well where we talk about our love of the classics, including music, movies and visual art. It is called www.lovingandlearning.org. (If it violates any rules to share this, please remove it! We don't want to spam at all, just find some like minded people to check it out and give feedback!)
Thanks for welcoming us to the group! Looking forward to some exciting adventures together :)

Hi and welcome Stephen and Reina to Catching up on Classics! Enjoy! 😊
Welcome to the group Stephen & Reina. How fun to read together as a couple. Looking forward to discussing books with you.

Hi and welcome Megan! Besides classics, I really enjoy historical fiction as well. Glad you've joined our group and happy reading! 😊

Hi and welcome Alayna! You'll definitely broaden your spectrum of literature here! Enjoy! 😊
Welcome Alayna -- I love to read dystopian and adventure/fantasy too and have found a new love of reading classics to go along with that after joining this group. Glad to have you with us.

I’m Lexy. My curiosity and now fairly limited “must-read” book list thus lead me to joining this group. What can I say, I have always loved the classics—and by that I particularly mean pre-WWI..."
Welcome, Lexy! People already here know that sooner or later I am bound to recommend books by Truman Capote. For nonfiction: In Cold Blood in particular, and for fiction: Breakfast at Tiffany's, among others.
Hope you like it here! - ALLEN
Welcome to the group Lexy
So glad that you have found us; I'm looking forward to reading classics with you.
So glad that you have found us; I'm looking forward to reading classics with you.

Reading takes up a large portion of my leisure time, as well as listening to audio books while I do chores or commute. I have used GoodReads for a while now, but am looking to get more adventurous and diverse with my reading, and definitely to read more classics.
I am thrilled to have found a group with so many active members and so many fun challenges! I am frequently online if anyone would like to chat, as I work from home. My other hobbies include cooking, baking, spinning fire, graphic design, and I hope to branch into technical writing.
Merry Meet!

You're British, so that gives you a leg up.
Have you read any of Charles Dickens' novels?

LOL
Glad to have you with us. But you probably better do a few assignments between reading books ;)

Im here in this book community because i want to educate myself in the world of literature, its history, genres, terms, and would like to get recommendations on books
I want to read both fic and non fic and i think i want to read the best quality books mankind has ever produce but also i will read popular books too

I do read books from most genres (maybe not huge on Fantasy and not really interested in Graphic Novels) and am particularly fond of literary fiction, historical fiction and classics.
I have read many Austrian and German, as well as other European, classics and am starting to dive more into American classics at the moment.
As I find new books to add to my 'to read' list everyday, I thought it might be fun to actually interact with people who are interested in the same authors :-)

Members have read and discussed all kinds of interesting books here, mostly novels, and the group's definition of a "Classic" is fairly liberal.

Not a single one! haha, I think A Christmas Carol might be my first this month though
