Without a doubt, I am devoted to classics, the richness of the language, the ironies, the drama, the edge of your seat plotting, and the unforgettable CHARACTERS!!!
Looking forward to catching up on a few classics
I've missed,...and taking in the insight and perspectives from my fellow readers, while adding a few of my own!

Hello and welcome Abigail! We look forward to you joining in our group reads and discussions! Enjoy and happy reading! 😊

I have been trying to read at least 1 classic a month lately, and I have been enjoying it so much. I thought I'd up my game a little and join a classic group to get some book inspirations and join in on some discussions.
Can't wait to get started.
Hi Erin and welcome to the group. I hope we can help inspire you to read more classics and look forward to discussing books with you.

Welcome to the group Maria; I love fantasy also. But classics have won my heart -- hope you enjoy reading with us.

I wish I''d not missed Vanity Fair, but I'll join in on the ones I can. Meanwhile, I'm currently reading We by Yevgeny Zamyatin. I found it on a list of classics and I'm enjoying it. I'm also doing a buddy read of one of the Chinese classics from the 1500s. That's a bit slower going. Really looking forward to this group.

Oh good. I grabbed it off my shelf last night thinking "I don't have time" and also "I really want to read this book." So, I'll get a start and eventually catch up to everyone else - someday. Thanks.
Welcome to the group Ella. Like Pink said, there are still people reading Vanity Fair through June.
We is on my list to read this year. Glad to hear that you are enjoying it.

Hello, everyone! I'm a law student desperately trying to work through a backlog of classics I own. My passion is ancient literature, such as Greek plays, the Eddas, etc. Lately I've been pushing through 19th C.E. books, although I generally do not like literature from the Victorian era. Outside of classics, I like nonfiction, sci-fi, and horror.
I hope to join in on the All Quiet on the Western Front group read in July. It'll be a reread on my end; I haven't read it since high school, but it really affected me back in the day.

and Thankyou for the idea of having a "need-to-reread" shelf - how have I survived without!?
by curious coincidence I was listening to this earlier today:

I love reading a variety of genres - fantasy, historical and contemporary fiction, literary fiction, classics, ... The classics I'm reading right now are Jude the Obscure and The Woman Who Did for university and Little Dorrit in my free time. The last classic I've finished and completely loved is Northanger Abbey - now I just have to find time to read Emma and then I've read all of Jane Austen's novels :)
I'm a bit too busy right now to join in on any of the classics the group's currently reading, but I'll have enough time for that in a month! :)
