Hey Bam! Glad to see you here! Looks like you're still reading like crazy -- Yea!! I think you'll enjoy this group and maybe you can make some recommendations to us too :)

message 5456: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 33 comments Hi all - I'm Leslie and I joined because although I thought I had read a lot of classics (my undergrad degree is in English Literature), I haven't read many that are listed here. I love reading and thought joining this group would inspire me to discover new (to me) classics and to have a place to talk about books. My in-person book club is great for getting together, chatting and drinking prosecco, but we don't really talk about the books.

I live in Vancouver, Canada with my English cocker spaniel Pippa. Aside from reading, I enjoy travel, movies and wine. I spend a lot of time walking (thanks to Pippa).

If asked to name my favourite book, author or movie, I can never give just one answer. So here are a few authors I've re-read many times (and will probably keep re-reading): Jane Austen, JRR Tolkien, Arthur Conan Doyle (primarily Sherlock Holmes), the Brontes. Not a big fan of George Eliot - but I haven't read any of her novels since university, so my view might have changed.

Cheers!

MissFede (missfl) Hi everyone, I just joined the group! :D

I am Fred from London and I am super excited to start reading classics with you all. I don't have many book lover friends in my life (how sad...I know) so most of the time I find myself wanting to chat about books I read and have no one around that knows what I am talking about. That's why I decided to join your group. Your reading choices look so very interesting!
Have you all a good day! :)

Emmy (emmy205) | 95 comments Hello!

My name is Emmy and I'm from Ohio. I used to be super into the classics as a student, but sort of slipped out of the habit of reading them once I graduated from college. I'm really looking forward to discussing some oldies-but-goodies with y'all :)

In addition to classics, I enjoy graphic novels, horror, non-fiction (mostly science), and magical realism. I'm a librarian with experience moderating book clubs, and a life-long bookworm! My other hobbies include anime, video-games, hand-writing letters, and houseplants.

Yes, welcome Randy. Time Enough at Last is my favourite Twilight Zone episode too! Such a sad episode though. His wife is so mean! And if he just started talking to me in the bank about David Copperfield, I think the people behind me would start getting a little ticked because I would join him!
