Hi, I'm Doug, 62, retired in January of 2017 and loving it. Lots of time to catch up on all my reading. I set a goal of reading 52 books last year and crushed it in July. Ended up at 113 books. Retirement rocks for me.

I love the book choices that this group makes. I actually joined awhile back but never introduced myself. I just read two of the February picks, Catcher in the Rye and Macbeth. I'm adding Tale of Two Cities to my reading list for next month. I plan to go from lurker to participant!

Hello, I'm Jerry. I live in Northeast Tennessee. I've been interested in joining a book club, and I enjoy classic literature. I found this and saw you're reading Faust and Tender is the Night. I just learned that it was a somewhat autobiographical expression of Fitzgerald's life at the time and thought this would be interesting. I also read German and thought reading Faust would be a great opportunity. I look forward to the group. I'm hoping I will be able to find the time for this and keep up.

Welcome Jerry! Don't worry about falling behind. I fall behind on group reads all the time! The threads are always open so you can just read them, and post your thoughts on them when you finish reading. I hope you enjoy the group.

I'm Susan from Minnesota. I love the classics. I pick my next books based on "top" lists. Austen, Dickens, Hugo, Dumas are some of my favorites. I recently got into the Russian classics and am enjoying those. I also enjoy anything by C.S. Lewis (although I haven't ready any of his fiction yet). I love studying the Bible and other languages.

Hi everybody! I'm Marina from Italy. 35 years old (nearly 36), technical translator, and obviously book lover. If you were to ask me some years ago, I would have told you that yes, I did read classics (I studied Literature in University after all!), but that it was not my favorite genre. Nowadays, I don't really know what my favorite genre is (I would say probably literary fiction, if there's any such thing), but I've noticed a tendency to read more classics in recent times. So I'd say I'm enjoying them now more than I did even in my University times.

I'm glad to be a new addition to the group :)
