Hi and welcome Kimberly! Our group is certainly a classics motivator! I've read classics here that I never thought I would! Enjoy and happy reading! 🤗

Hi and welcome Jackelyn! Glad you've joined our group! Enjoy and happy reading! 😊

Hi and welcome Diane! Glad you've joined our group! Happy reading and enjoy! 😊

Aside from being a total book nerd, I am a Chemical Engineering student, hoping to one day work for NASA and be the first Puerto Rican female mission controller.

Oh and good luck with your studies. Sounds like you have a great goal to one day work for NASA!

Hi Zarina! Welcome! Glad you've joined our group and I'll look forward to your thoughts on the classics that we read here! Happy reading and enjoy! 😊

Fairly new to Goodreads, mostly because I only recently started reading after a long time.
Never read a lot of the classics. Mostly read contemporary novels.
Looking to "catch up on classics"!!! :)

I am Gloria, and I so glad I found and joined this group. I love the idea of reading the Classics (and more), and as it is, it is never too late!! :)

Hello, neighbor! I'm from a Chicago suburb myself :)

Works of fiction I have read many times and essentially studied include all of Proust, Durrell’s Alexandria Quartet, Jane Austen, Winesburg Ohio, and Tender is the Night. There are many others but these are ones I think about a good deal.
I enjoy the immense challenge of creating my own fiction and discovering my own voice, which took many years. My voice has been described as humor masking pain and I think that is correct. I can find humor in the funeral parlor, in the death of loved ones, in the uncalled-for betrayals by loved ones. In the end, we all ideally can laugh through our tears.

Hi! My name is Don Scaggs. I enjoy reading classics. I have already read a lot of the classics but needed an incentive to read more and branch out on my previous readings.
Welcome Don, this is a great group to give you an incentive to read more classics. Glad you have joined us in our quest.

Yes, we do buddy reads and welcome to the group!

Hi everyone! My name is Gary. I live in New Hampshire. I have been in the group for a while, and have been keeping up with quite a few reads. The titles that are chosen are all superb.
I've been recovering from a couple fusion surgeries on my back and neck for the last 18 months, the group has helped me in choosing sometime reads over this time.
I think I'm able to start being a more active member.
Before I had my surgeries one of my activities was mountain climbing here in beautiful NH. But that activity is in the past now, but simple walks will be good when I can.
But this off time gives me some quality time to read, and discover writers that are new to me. Ive become a reader of modernist writers, but I go in for a variety which my library shows,
I look forward to a couple reads coming up; Catcher in the Rye (which I read about once a year) and one by Calvino I've wanted to read for a long time.
Glad to be more actively involved.
Cheers!
Gary

Hi and welcome Gary! Glad to you hear that you're on the road to recovery and that our group entertained you while you convalesced! Continued happy reading and enjoyment! 😊

Hi and welcome Aubrey! Enjoy yourself and happy reading! 😊

Nice to meet you all. I'm Audrey and I live in Canada. I love reading classics, especially French or Russian ones. My guilty pleasure is reading Dan Brown every now and then.
