What a fun morning to find so many new members. Welcome Valentina, Mark, Helen, and Patrick. Looking forward to reading with you.

I am Macala and I am in Oregon. I love all kinds of books. I read anything that grabs my attention. However, I would have to say that classics of any type are my favorite. I also am extremely fond of mysteries and fantasies. I am looking forward to joining in on all the conversations. I am so excited that I finished one of this months books tonight already. So, far it seems like this app is set up pretty visually impaired friendly which will help me out, but we'll have to see.
Good reading to all of you,
Macala

Hi and welcome Macala! Glad you decided to join our group to read and discuss classics! Enjoy and happy reading! 😊

Smile,

I am Ayush. I live in California and I'm a junior in Fremont High School in Sunnyvale. I've always loved reading books, but I do not know much in the category of classics. So I felt it would be nice to join a group to read more classics.

Hi and welcome Ayush! Glad you've joined us to expand your knowledge of classics! Enjoy and happy reading! 😊

I'm Tom, I live in Michigan and have been an avid reader since a child. I have quite eclectic tastes and fluctuate between the classics to science fiction (I've dabbled a bit in fantasy, but surprisingly little), and thrillers, like james Rollins. I've also been carrying a writers bug for many years, I've had five stories published online, but now that I have retired I hope to scratch that itch much more. I thank you for having me. Of the classics I've read, I loved The Three Musketeers, Great Expectations and Crime And Punishment.
I see that you also delve into other areas as well, and that was the selling point for me to join your group. As I said, I am a reader, first and foremost. Genre is just another name for a book to read.

Welcome to the group!

I live in Lakewood, Ca and have always loved reading. Just recently got into buying some B & N leatherbound classics. The books are so beautiful! Love buying old books as well.

Hi and welcome Michele! I love buying old books too! Glad you've joined us again! Enjoy and happy reading! 😊

Hi Clio, welcome! 😊
I am not entirely certain if I introduced myself or if I just decided to sign up for this community and watch the posts. However, it's better to be safe than sorry, so I'll just nip right on in here and introduce myself formally.
My name is Tiffany, and I come from a town in Canada that nobody's ever heard of unless you are unlucky enough to live in the surrounding booney's near to it. I fell in love with the classics at a very young age, and am very well read with the English and French authors. I am currently reading through some Russian and German classics, but find that I return back to Dickens, Dumas, Flaubert, and other such writers.
I am really looking forward to being introduced to other writers and their work, and hope to include them onto my bookshelves.

I haven't heard of Rodney. Though, I think it has something to do with the fact that I live on the other side of Ontario. I come from a town about 45 minutes from Peterborough. It's a nice area, but so boring!
Thank you and Katy for the welcome!

Hey Tiffany! So glad to see another friend here! Enjoy! 😊
Hello Loretta! I am pleased to see you here. I definitely feel overwhelmed with the size of this group. I am just acquainting myself with the topics/discussion posts.
Rosemarie: I agree, the surrounding area of Peterborough is very pretty. From what I've seen (through google), Rodney looks very pretty as well.
Hello, Brina! It's nice to meet you.

Tiffany! Don't feel overwhelmed by the size of our group. Once you start participating on the different threads and join in on discussions about the books that we read, you'll wonder why you were overwhelmed in the first place! The added plus of our group is that everyone is very friendly. If you have any questions, you can count on me for help or you can ask any of our wonderful, knowledgeable moderators! 😊

I'm Tammy from VA. I've always been a big reader. Seriously, I'll read a cereal box if there isn't anything else. Last year I decided to dig a little deeper into classic lit and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I'd gotten away from the classics for many years and burned myself out on thrillers, best sellers and mainstream junk. I found that the books I had to work on a little bit more, actually gave me the biggest thrill. I tend to like Modern Classics (let's say 1900 to 2000) so I'm probably more of a Hemingway/Faulkner kind of gal, as opposed to a Bronte sister kind of gal. Don't get me wrong, I love Jane Austen, and Dickens, and Hardy, but my sweet spot tends to be the modern lit. Oh...and I love listening to music.
