I've put The Secret Scripture aside and am now reading Luncheon of the Boating Party by Susan Vreeland.

I'm just finished a biography of Milk Fanning, Surf for your life. I'm just starting The Devils Eye, by Ian Townsend, a fictionised story but based on real events of hurricane Mahina in North qld, 1899. so I am a very Aussie reader at the moment.
I haven't done this for a while, so I thought I'd weigh in with my current reads. At present, I am reading an MM anthology, plus an MM short (both for review), while in my personal reading, I am about to start Orlando and am making my way through the two box sets of Vampire Knight manga.
I've finally got around to reading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. It's really very good (so far). It's been on the top of my tbr and on my kindle for ages so I don't know why it's taken me so long to get to it.
Currently reading Forever With You. Something light again, I hope, after finishing my last read Inside the O'Briens
Surf for Your Life by Mick Fanning
The Devil's Eye by Ian Townsend
Those are the links for you Deborah.
Yours are too hard Nicki. Perhaps you could link them so we can all share them.
Thanks:)

RitaSkeeter wrote: "Okay all you crime readers. Silly question of the day. What does 'police procedural' mean when used as a book descriptor? Does it mean the book follows the course of a police investigation? Or some..."
In a word - yes! A police investigation of a crime/murder etc:)

After I read History's People: Personalities and the Past I gave it to DH to read. Took him a while but he finished it today, making a grand total of two books this year!!

I'm reading a fantasy anthology - Engraved on the Eye, by Saladin Ahmed. It has a Middle Eastern flavour, which is always fun.
I am having a break from Christmas themed books and reading
Much Ado About Magic by Shanna Swendson right now for my at work book.BUT
I also have
The Secret Christmas Ciphers by Carolynn Carey and
On Strike for Christmas by Sheila Roberts around as well for my bedtime read and lounge room read respectively.

I finished reading Star Promise
yesterday and I gave it 5 stars. Here's my review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I am knee-deep in Sara Donati's opening novel of her Wilderness series called Into the Wilderness. 'knee-deep' means about halfway thru! I'm starting to fret that I won't have Book #2 ready at hand, as it's coming via inter-library loan:(Upstate New York in 1790's with Elizabeth Middleton, Nathaniel Bonner and their assorted Anglo and Indian co-characters. There's even a nod to Diana Gabaldon as a couple of Outlander characters make guest appearances.
I've been reading Robert Drewe lately. His essays are better than his fiction.

In a mad scramble to complete my personal challenge I'm reading novellas. Just started Binti by Nnedi Okorafor.
I'm reading a self published work: Sooner or Later We All Come Home by Roz Baker. It's Australian, with a start in Ireland, and I liked the story.
Also Motherhood & Creativity: The Divided HeartMotherhood & Creativity - by Rachel Power. Real, inside stories on well-known and lesser-known creative artists, actors, writers. Australian.

As well as Daughters of Fortune
, I am also reading A French Girl in New York
on my iPhone. The first has been really engrossing (I'm almost finished). The second one is cute and readable enough, but quite silly with not much substance.
Hi I just wanted to introduce myself.

It does sound good.
I have just finished Europa blues by Arne Dahl- complex and intricate, and I'm not sure if I was able to full grasp every detail and twist but I got the gist of what's happened at the end.I'm now starting Rush Oh! by Shirley Barrett -
still reading Middlesex Usually I wouldn't like such a long and difficult book but it is exceptionally written!
I am reading The Patron Saint of Lost Dogs
for the December challenge and also Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis: Far Horizons
. Both are good so far.
Books I enjoyed reading recently include below -Stabbed Ego
- Sam Walton , made in America
- Jackie Chan , my life in action
I definitely recommend these books and award them full stars

Sounds good! Middlesex is on my iPad. I read The Virgin Suicides earlier this year and enjoyed it very much — if anyone can enjoy such a dark topic.
I've just started The Art of Fiction. I've been delving into lit-crit and author biographies lately, and thought this book might be a good addition. I'm enjoying it so far, as David Lodge has a light touch.

I'm about halfway, Brenda, and it's a real page-turner. I could have happily stayed at home to read it instead of going to work!
(although I have this with quite a few books)
Haha! Yes that's true. I have it down for a challenge, so will get to it soon:) I loved his previous one!
Marianne wrote: "You people who do netgalley should try to get hold of this one Coffin Road it's good!"Sounds good Marianne. Hachette won't let me have books to review on NG so I'll have to wait for it to come out :(
