Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments I can't do any more buddy reads this month that aren't already at least tentative or pre-scheduled, but I'd be willing to buddy Shadow and Bone, Falling Kingdoms, or Hereafter in December if you're interested.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments Just a reminder that a few of us might be reading The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1) by Alexandra Bracken in December. No date has been set yet, so if anyone wants to throw out a date that sounds good, go for it.

Also, we are going to be buddy reading Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee starting the 10/11 of this month, then going into World After (Penryn & the End of Days, #2) by Susan Ee afterward, so that's coming up soon.

I know it had been batted around to buddy The Fiery Heart (Bloodlines, #4) by Richelle Mead and re-read Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins later in the month, so if anyone is still interested, let us know so we can set something up.

message 53: by Robin (new)

Robin (Bridge Four) (fionafixit) Thanks Stacia I forgot that the re-read of Angelfall started on Monday 10/11. I'll rearrange my reading schedule for that.

message 54: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (narcisse) | 1946 comments I'm gonna be reading Angelfall and World After. And The Darkest Minds on whatever date we decide for that. I'd like to read The Fiery Heart too, but release date on that is the same as World After so that would take some juggling.

message 55: by Robin (new)

Robin (Bridge Four) (fionafixit) Sweet Jenny is in for the buddy read of Angelfall

I look forward to stalking you guys through your reads of the Darkest Minds.

message 56: by Bailey (new)

Bailey (baileyharmon) | 111 comments I haven't read Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee but have seen a lot about it so I would be up for that! Also I was planning on re-reading Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) by Suzanne Collins anyways so count me in. :) I saw a life size Peeta at Walmart today.

message 57: by Angie (new)

Angie (pinkindle) | 828 comments I don't plan on rereading Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee but I'd love to join in on World After (Penryn & the End of Days, #2) by Susan Ee !

Shadow and Bone!
The spirit of The Darkling compels you.... The spirit of The Darkling compels you....

I totally forgot the Angelfall re-read was going to be today/tomorrow o.O

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments I won't be starting until the morning, but I'm looking forward to it.

We'll be discussing in the Penryn & the End of Days series topic in the UF/PNR folder.

That's great. I haven't read Falling Kingdoms or Hereafter yet. When would you like to start? I'm thinking maybe last week of December.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments Any chance we could push it to January? I don't want any random holiday stuff to crop up and get in the way.

Going to have to wait on The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1) by Alexandra Bracken as well until after the first of the year. Since I've read January's group read pick already, I'll be able to fit in a couple of buddy reads that month.

message 62: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (narcisse) | 1946 comments I'd be down for Falling Kingdoms as well as The Darkest Minds in January. It's gonna be difficult for me just to fit in my other reads for this month and to make my goal with all the crap going on around here currently.

message 63: by Silvia (new)

Silvia Meadows (smeadows1984) Sweet. Falling Kingdoms and The Darkest Minds for January. Sounds good to me. I can wait. :0)

message 64: by Brittney (new)

Brittney I'm interested in reading Teardrop

Teardrop by: Lauren Kate

If anyone else wants to read this let me know. I'm thinking maybe for January.

message 65: by Brittney (new)

Brittney Addie wrote: "Is there any buddy read currently on or in the works??"

What are you thinking about reading?

message 66: by [deleted user] (new)

Thinking of finally starting God-Shaped Hole by Tiffanie DeBartolo in January. Anybody brave enough to try it with me? hehe

message 67: by Robin (new)

Robin (Bridge Four) (fionafixit) Kira if I'm not depressed from Christmas I'm in.

message 68: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh no, you get depressed at Christmas? I'm sorry :(

I'm not planning to start until probably the second week of January, so hopefully that gives you some time to gear up. I would love to have you do it with me.

message 69: by Stacia (the 2010 club), groupaholic, YA-MA founder (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments Maybe you can nudge Wendy into joining (I wonder if she ever grumbles at me mentioning her for things). I think it was one she wanted to read at some point, since I know she read HTKARS not long ago.

It is an emotional book, for sure.

message 70: by Bailey (new)

Bailey (baileyharmon) | 111 comments I'd be up for it. I'm sure I can get through my huge pile by then!

Lol not normally. But winter sometimes does a trick on my emotions but I should be fine if I have a support group with me for the feels.

Should I read HTKARS first. I thought someone told me I should read God Shaped Hole first.

message 72: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, I think you're actually better off not having read HTKARS first. They are both stand-alones, but I think there are some characters in GSH that show up in that book?

message 73: by Kelly (new)

I happened to have just read "Darkest Minds". Is there a thread to discuss it?

message 74: by Stacia (the 2010 club), groupaholic, YA-MA founder (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments I'm actually glad I read HTKaRS first because if I'd read GSH first, I don't think HTKARS would have made as much of an impact on me.

But I think it's okay to read either one first in terms of order, since the books aren't part of a series.

message 75: by Stacia (the 2010 club), groupaholic, YA-MA founder (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments Kelly, there isn't yet but we can make one since a few people have read the series and it has at least two books out. That way it will also come in handy to use for the buddy read. I can put one up later tonight. Is it fantasy, sci fi, or paranormal?

It is a sci-fi dystopia where ever you put those.

Hahaha! Never! I'd never grumble! It's funny because before I saw this I was getting ready to say that I'd be game. I just wrote my little 'why I loved this book' blurb for HTKARS in the Best of 2013 thread and was thinking of starting this one. (Though I may have to take some valium if it's as much of a roller coaster as HTKARS.)

Wendy F wrote: "Though I may have to take some valium if it's as much of a roller coaster as HTKARS"

You and me both. I actually tracked down a copy of this on ebay like four months ago, before it was available on kindle, and I read the first page and felt that "amazing-book suction" starting and put it down real fast. I just wasn't ready. I learned my lesson about reading a Tiffanie De Bartolo book on my own with HTKaRS so I'm excited to tackle this one in a group, hehe.

message 80: by Gwennie (new)

Gwennie (blessedwannab) I think we'll be coming in here to let loose.

message 81: by M. A. (new)

M. A. Hickman (mahickman) | 12 comments I just came across this. I just finished the darkest minds and am currently waiting on never fade from my library. I have been looking for one to barrow through nook but no such luck yet lol. Is any one still reading this series or are you all finished?

message 82: by Stacia (the 2010 club), groupaholic, YA-MA founder (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments We never ended up setting the date. Jenny? Any clue when you want to?

message 83: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (narcisse) | 1946 comments Any day is fine with me. I don't have any other books scheduled, just a lot of mood reading.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments How would Tuesday the 21st work for you?

message 85: by Robin (new)

Robin (Bridge Four) (fionafixit) I missed it which book are you guys reading?

message 86: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (narcisse) | 1946 comments The 21st is good. We're reading The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1) by Alexandra Bracken .

message 87: by Stacia (the 2010 club), groupaholic, YA-MA founder (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments That would be correct. Anyone is welcome to join along for the read or just to discuss if you've already finished.

message 88: by Kdbrand (last edited Jan 21, 2014 04:23AM) (new)

Kdbrand | 353 comments I just picked up The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1) by Alexandra Bracken from the library last night. Hope I can keep up you all in the buddy read!

message 89: by Stacia (the 2010 club), groupaholic, YA-MA founder (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5137 comments No worries. I'm only a couple of chapters in and won't be picking it up again until after I pick my son up from school later. I'll post more in the discussion topic for the book tonight https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

message 90: by Robin (new)

Robin (Bridge Four) (fionafixit) I'm thinking I want to read Unravel by Calia Read and it seems like one of those cool creepy wtf kind of books that would be fun to read with a few other people.

If anyone is interested.

message 91: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 560 comments Ooooo, that does look good Robin! I would be interested in a buddy read

message 92: by Robin (new)

Robin (Bridge Four) (fionafixit) Yay Rachael!!! Lets see if we can't get one or two others on board and then pick a start date. But I'm still totally down if it is just the two of us.

message 93: by Kdbrand (new)

Kdbrand | 353 comments Rachel and Robin, I'm interested in doing the buddy read too. I just added this one to my Kindle for $2.99.

message 94: by Robin (new)

Robin (Bridge Four) (fionafixit) Sweet Kdbrand it has been on my feed for the last few days and looks intriguing.

Okay lets wait until tomorrow to see if anyone else wants in and then we will pick a day to start that works for everyone if that sounds good.

message 95: by Diane (new)

Diane | 1234 comments I'll read it especially since it is on Kindle for $2.99

message 96: by Robin (new)

Robin (Bridge Four) (fionafixit) Rachel, Kdbrand and Diane. I'm good to start Unravel anytime but when will work the best for you ladies. I was thinking maybe Tuesday or next weekend but I'm really good for whenever.

message 97: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 560 comments After Tuesday would be good for me

message 98: by Kdbrand (last edited Feb 22, 2014 01:04PM) (new)

Kdbrand | 353 comments I can do Wednesday or later in the week works for me too. Tuesdays are my busiest day of the week, but I could probably still get through a couple of chapters.

message 99: by Diane (new)

Diane | 1234 comments Next weekend works best for me but don't wait on my concern.

message 100: by Robin (new)

Robin (Bridge Four) (fionafixit) I'm fine with next weekend Diane if that works for everyone else.
