I'm hoping he takes out Cersei first.........she deserves it for empowering him in the first place.........if she wasn't so petty and vindictive none of this would even be happening.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments Terrible episode! No, not really, but man... I cried. 3 different times. First, the little moment Jorah had there with Daenerys, I was like aww, Jorah! Sorry, but I love Jorah, lol. Then, again with the (view spoiler). And then of course the (view spoiler) I did have a couple happy feels moments though, like Sansa all standing up for herself a bit, and the bits with Tyrion and Varys, always good with those two. The best of all though was Tormund and how he's been (view spoiler). Love it xD

Holly (goldikova) My Current Problem With This Show:

Every time I log in to HBO Go I get distracted.

I ask myself, "So, I can watch the new episode............but.............gee, remember that episode of Vinyl where the Ramones show up in the audience at the rock club...........oh, and New York was all run down and filthy, just like I remember it...............and everyone was smoking cigarettes in offices.............what a crazy, wonderful world that story is set in..........

So I end up re-watching another episode of my new obsession and getting the highlights and spoilers from the latest episode of GOT from a podcast.

message 266: by Ed (new)

Ed (blacksabbathed) My favorite show GoT seems to be getting tired and worn out and has deviated away from the novels at this point.

message 267: by Steve (new)

Steve Parcell | 912 comments Latest episode was great. All the pieces are falling in to place for a major battle and Daenerys to have the transportation required. Plus a Hound and Arya reunion?

message 268: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 450 comments I'm still enjoying it, maybe not quite as much as I used to but it's still the best show on TV.

The only thing that I'm not really into is the Dornish story. Firstly it always bugged me that it's called Dorne on the opening map not Sunspear. I really don't understand why Cersei has sent the whole Lannister army to claim back a poxy little castle instead of down to Dorne to seek vengeance for Myrcella's death. She sent Jaime there to save her when she received the snake statue with Myrcella's necklace so she's now fine that she's dead. Oh well, I have another kid?

And having the whole Martell family wiped out by the Sand Snakes. Why?

And I'm interested to see what they do with Arya? I kind of assumed she's become a Faceless Man, but now that she hasn't, what is there for her to do anymore? Go back to Westeros yeah, but do what when she's there?

Now that would be cool!

message 271: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 450 comments There's a thought running round the internet called CleganeBowl. The Mountain vs The Hound in Cersei's trial by combat.

It would be fun to see. They'll have to somehow get Sandor back to King's Landing.

message 272: by Ed (new)

Ed (blacksabbathed) Watched this weeks episode last night and I have to say it was one of the worst episodes since the show began.

The whole Arya thing is ridiculous.

And apparently anyone can die and come back to life like Jon Snow.

If you like the show and haven't read the novels I suggest you check them out. The story line is much better.

Jennifer | 450 comments Ed wrote: "

Who else has come back to life like Jon Snow? Berric Dondarrion (sic) and?

message 274: by Erin (new)

Erin (ems84) | 9120 comments Thoughts on the latest episode?

message 275: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 450 comments Totally predictable but still really enjoyable. That battle scene was amazing, the horses running along side each other was breathtaking. And seeing the formations and Jon almost being drowned in the fight.

So much better than last weeks disappointment.

message 276: by Steve (new)

Steve Parcell | 912 comments I thought it was a splendid hour of TV gold. My only disappointment is that Ramsey is dead. For me his villainy has been integral to the show and the acting awesome. Makes Joffrey look like a boy scout.
Yes it is far fetched but it is a bloody TV show. Not real life.

message 277: by Erin (new)

Erin (ems84) | 9120 comments I definitely thought it was a fantastic episode. The battle scene was amazing. I wasn't surprised at what happened to Ramsay and poor Rickon. For the entire series he was in what only a handful of episodes?

message 278: by Erin (new)

Erin (ems84) | 9120 comments I didn't think the show would be able to top last weeks episode then THAT happened!

message 279: by Vavita (new)

Vavita I am a bit confused with the timeline in the show. In the last episode we saw Varys with the Sand Snakes and then suddenly he was already with Daenerys on the ship. Did he take a transatlantic flight or what?

I didn't understand how he got back and forth so quickly either. It always seemed (even in the books) he randomly showed up in different scenes when it didn't seem possible but it could just be a timeline issue that wasn't fully explained.

I think Euron Greyjoy will be the next villain.

message 283: by Steve (new)

Steve Parcell | 912 comments Definitely. Cant wait for the Hound and Arya to be reunited. Then the Hound and his brother have a mass brawl. The Tower will probably still have Nun's blood on his teeth. More of the Sand Snakes please as they are flipping gorgeous. Particularly as Margeary is now dead.

Canavan | 600 comments Ekel wrote:

What Steve said. Most sources are saying two, although the decision is ultimately up to the showrunners.

message 288: by Canavan (new)

Canavan | 600 comments Quick thoughts about Season 6 after having watched the finale last night. A generally solid and satisfying season. I persist in thinking that this is one of the very best shows currently running, but (on the negative side of the ledger) now that we’re more or less off book, I worry about what I imagine to be the growing tendency of the showrunners to pander to what they think are the desires of their audience.

message 289: by Steve (new)

Steve Parcell | 912 comments It is an exceptionally well done show and very polished. BUT I do share your concerns Canavan about the direction of the storylines. I hope it continues with the humans in fighting rather than a humans V White Walkers Lord Of The Rings type affair. The real monsters are the human ones and I for one will miss Ramsey Bolton as a character.

message 290: by Erin (new)

Erin (ems84) | 9120 comments Ekel wrote: "Haven't watched season 6 yet, but it already seems like season 7 could be the final one."

I think the show will be over after it's 8th season and supposedly there are only 13 episodes left, split between the final two seasons.

message 291: by Holly (new)

Holly (goldikova) I highly doubt that the White Walker story line will be dropped at this point. The storyline is heading towards Danaerys taking Westeros by the fifth episode with the remaining episodes to focus on the battle for the living.

message 292: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer | 450 comments I'm really trying not to be "that guy" who complains that the books are better so I'm trying to keep my mind open for the next series.

There's a couple of things that are bugging me, which I won't go into specifics so I don't spoiler stuff for those that haven't seen it. But, wtf is going on with Arya's story?!

Also, the passing of time seems to have gone all skewed. Varys teleports at one point. They seem to be rushing through certain things like Bran's story, ships being built, alliances being made.

My boyfriend said that he's read somewhere that the writers found series 6 very hard to do, as they were pretty much writing their own show. The books weren't there anymore to take things from. So maybe that's why time has gone all screwy. That's one of the reasons why they've cut down the no of episodes next season, so they have the same length of time to concentrate on less screen time.

I am still looking forward to seeing how it ends. Dany and Westeros, and what happens with the White Walkers.

message 293: by Walter (new)

Walter Spence (walterspence) | 573 comments I suspect that Bran will be instrumental in the defeat of the Winter King. Reader's intuition suggests to me that killing him, along with his cohorts, may well unanimate the White Walkers,

Don't worry about being "that guy"; because you're in good company. The quality of the writing has gone downhill drastically since the show runners have been left to their own devices.

On the bright side; if the remaining books in the series are published they should be much different than the series. GRRM might be wordy; but at least he doesn't write redundant and predictable books.

Mande Peer | 1 comments Maybe they should just wait for that fat arrogant piece of sh** to finish. I royally hate that man. He created an amazing world with so much potential and not only did confuse himself but he will not allow his cohorts (the ones who mainly wrote The World of Ice and Fire) to help him finish the actual books. TWOIAF was just so fantastic. He needs to hand it over immediately. I mean honestly, at this point his conspiracy theorist fans are writing a better story. He prohibits fanfic though, and hints at being litigious over it. Sorry for the language and the melodrama but there are few things I despise more than an arrogant creative genius who withholds the legacy of his stories from a world so desperate for any crumb of temporary escape. People try to make themselves feel better by shouting "he doesn't owe his fans anything!" YES HE DOES. He's in the middle of a series that's been dragging on over 20 years., Yes he most certainly does. Sorry *rant over* please don't hate me lol.

Agreed. This notion that the series is building towards some sort of climactic confrontation between the living and the White Walkers has pretty much been carved in stone since the very first season.

I’d push back at least a bit on the characterization of the Season 6 writing as being “drastically” poorer than what has come before and I’d also defend the showrunners by pointing out that a fair amount of what we’ve seen this past year has come from Books 4 and 5 and much of the “non-book” stuff is derived from Martin’s notes. I do agree that a certain predictably has increasingly crept into storylines and that Benioff and Weiss deserve the lion’s share of the blame for that development.

George R.R. Martin single-handedly created the world and characters in the series. ‎It's his writing and storytelling ability, his world building and character development - his creative genius - that make them so top-notch. People wouldn't be so eager for the next book otherwise. They are truly his.

It's GRRM's mind that has created everything about them, and anyone else's mind would only be making an imitation. The tv show is a nice alternate version - I still love it, but it's no substitute for the real thing. I think fan fic would be disastrous.

I'm eagerly awaiting TWoW too. But I don't want someone else's version of it. That would be sacrilege. His work is worth waiting for. I'll wait as long as it takes to get the real thing. I say good for Mr. Martin.

Jeeeeez. You say that you don't want to be melodramatic but your post epitomises that. He wrote the books and has been supportive of the TV show. How is that selfish and arrogant???
Perhaps you should try writing a series of books so magnificent that the whole world is talking about them. They have now been turned in to one of the best TV series ever.
I have seen the man interviewed several times and he comes across as very humble and magnaminous.
Maybe there is a massive green eyed monster involved here and I am not talking about one of the dragons!
