Erin (ems84) | 9120 comments Is The Hound's fate up in the air right now? I have not read the books so wasn't sure if the finale was the last we would see of him or if he comes back.

Thanks!

I don't really have a favorite character on this show and I didn't think much of The Hound when he was first introduced but I did end up enjoying him more during his travels with Arya.

Mark Matthews (xmarkm) | 269 comments I have never been one to collect figurines. AKA Dollies. Toys. But GOT has changed that. I now own a Jon Snow and a Ned Stark figurine which sit on my mantle "Daddy, where are my glasses," my daughter asks. "Next to Jon Snow," I answer, and proud that she knows where this means. I read the first 4 books, haven't finished the series and may not, but the world and inhabitants of GOT are incredible.

Yeah, we have the action figures too. My daughter plays with them wrong; so far the Hound has been seen driving a pink convertible around the house and riding on Misty of Chincoteague.

Erin (ems84) | 9120 comments I kick myself for not reading the books when the show first started but I guess it's better to be late then not doing it at all. I am looking forward to the new season!

It gets better, Charlene; she told me that she is engaged to the Hound and they are getting married when she is 18. So apparently he is going to be my son-in-law someday; should make for some interesting family gatherings.

She is still a child, but of all of them, I think she has the most potential to be the type of ruler that I could respect.

I'm curious about the guy that she sent away at the end of last season. (I don't remember his name, but he was her personal guard and advisor until she found out that he betrayed her.) I wonder where is he and what happened to him?

message 126: by Delmy (new)

Delmy (needfulreads) jorah? yeah, I know she is still a child but still she had to have known that dragons grow, they weren't going to stay little! idk, I just hated that scene when she locks up her "babies"! (I know I'm a little harsh, sorry)

I think jorah is coming back, I remember a trailer scene of him in one of the fighting pits, though I don't know how soon that is or if we will see him later. honestly, she is playing at being ruler, this is why she needed jorah. I think he guided her best and she is trying to somehow show that she is a better leader than viserys could have ever been. the trouble is she was raised by viserys and that doesn't help. I think things are gonna get worse before she gets to westeros, not looking forward to that! :(

11811 (Eleven) (11811) | 1561 comments Episode 4 seems so far away now that the first three got leaked.

message 128: by Steve (new)

Steve Parcell | 912 comments I thought it was a great episode. It gave us enough but not too much. The acting of Tyrion, Margery and Sersei as always was exceptional. Very well paced and a defiant ending.

message 129: by Holly (new)

Holly (goldikova) I am really looking forward to what is in store for Cersei; I think I'm going to have some fun this season.

It was four. Now, episode five seems so far away. Is it just me or does Sansa kinda look like the statue of liberty?

message 131: by Delmy (new)

Delmy (needfulreads) I like seeing sansa dressing and looking more and more like catelyn. I think she even doing the stoic pose that cat always had/has (still hoping for stoneheart to show up!), I don't think this is the same timid little bird. she sees that petyr is hiding things from her and I don't think she trusts him as much as he thinks she does. I am liking strong Sansa and I think she is playing petyr a little bit and hope it continues.

Erin (ems84) | 9120 comments Good premiere, a little slow but I am sure the story lines will pick up as the season continues.

It looks like Sansa learned and benefited from her association with Lady Olenna and Margery; the Tyrell women seem to have an excellent system for working things to their advantage.

message 136: by Steve (new)

Steve Parcell | 912 comments Sansa to kick some Sersei butt in the future I hope?

message 137: by Delmy (new)

Delmy (needfulreads) I love how sansa has grown, I didn't like her at all at first. she seemed like a useless appendage, but I definitely like her now and Sophie Turner does such a great job playing her character.

message 138: by Delmy (new)

Delmy (needfulreads) I think the series will cover the rest of book 4 and all of book 5, maybe the beginning of book 6 towards the end. I have to figure the creators of the show are in constant talks with Martin, he must have told them some of book 6 but I hope book 6 comes out soon because the main is falling behind!

message 139: by Natasa (new)

Natasa (natasa79) | 353 comments I'll wait till they all come out and make a marathon :)

I've read the first book. I think this is the first time I like the screen more than the book...maybe because it's being filmed so awesome and the characters are played so well.
Oh, actually this is the second time...I already love True Blood much more than the books. Such a shame how the story isn't that good anymore but I still get a few great laughs :)

I've read them all. Some of the characters are pretty much at the end of their storyline and some have a little catching up to do. We are really at the point where there aren't going to be any more 'book spoilers' for the show.

message 141: by Delmy (new)

Delmy (needfulreads) I'm getting frustrated book #6 should've been out by now!! :)

despite that, last night was a great episode, ah! poor brienne! :( and daenerys, I felt bad for her, she has no idea how to rule and way too many advisors. I think she needs Jorah back, he was the only one who advised her honestly. but how about drogon? that last scene was priceless in my opinion! very happy viewer! despite the minor changes.

message 142: by Steve (new)

Steve Parcell | 912 comments Apparently the two scriptwriters have now effectively ditched the plotlines of the books and gone their own way which I think is great.
Then we won't have people (not on GoodReads I hasten to add) ruin it for everybody else by telling us what happens in the books.
1st two episodes have been slower and deeper but a nice introduction for when it all kicks off (No I haven't read the books)

message 143: by Delmy (new)

Delmy (needfulreads) the writers haven't completely ditched the books, there changes but the major plots, the ones that matter are still right along with the books. which makes me happy, though to be fair even if they went completely the opposite way as long as they maintain the essence of the characters, it wouldn't bother me that much.

message 144: by Steve (new)

Steve Parcell | 912 comments Haven't read the books but was quoting from "Thronecast". Like The Walking Dead I may read the books in later life when the TV serieses come to an end.

message 145: by Holly (last edited May 18, 2015 10:12AM) (new)

Holly (goldikova) I spent this morning at the car wash, pressure spraying and vacuuming.....then I went to Sears and shopped for a new washing machine.

My subconscious may be trying to tell me I was traumatized by last nights episode.

ick, ick, ick............can we just skip straight to Cersei bald and naked, groveling in the gutter while the population of Flea Bottom throws shit at her? I'd really feel so much better.

message 146: by Delmy (new)

Delmy (needfulreads) I felt the same way, Ramsay is such an evil character but littlefinger is worse because he left her behind knowing full well who and what Ramsay was. I was hoping theon would do something.

I also can't wait for cercei to get hers but also littlefinger as well, he needs to get his as well.

message 147: by Erin (new)

Erin (ems84) | 9120 comments I think Theon will do something at some point, I could even see him and Sansa joining forces to bring Ramsay (and maybe the rest of the Boltons?) down.

message 148: by Mark (new)

Mark Matthews (xmarkm) | 269 comments I was praying that Reek would go Theon and make some retribution for his life, and stab Ramsay. And damn, littlefinger is a different kind of evil. (Dick Cheney kind of evil) Interesting how being a dwarve has been Tryion's curse all his life, but at the last second, saved his hide.

message 149: by Delmy (new)

Delmy (needfulreads) this episode was amazing! Jon is my favorite by far, and kit Harrington is such a great actor. I loved that tyrion finally got to dany but was disappointed she let jorah go! :(

message 150: by Holly (new)

Holly (goldikova) Watching Cersei get a couple good smacks upside the head was very gratifying. Also loved watching her lick water off the filthy floor; I have been waiting for this for a looooooong time.
