Mockingjay question

Finnick, because his death was the most pointless.

Rue's death enraged a nation and made them fight for their freedom.

Prim's death prompted Katniss to act and not let another evil dictator take over.

Cinna died for what he believed in and his actions inspired people to stand with Katniss and fight.

Finnick just didn't get away fast enough...

This is a bit out there, but I would choose to save Katniss's father. Her mother wouldn't have gone dotty and Katniss maybe would have been able to spend more time working on her personality rather than being a mother and provider way before her time. I think that made her cold and unlikable.

Just my opinion.

I would save Peeta. He didn't die, but his brain was broken, and would rather that he was never tortured than one of the other characters dying.

I think Rue's death affected me most, so I would save her.

I would choose to save everyone that was close to Katniss who died . . . but obviously that's not possible. I was really upset and surprised when Finnick died, but I had the same sad reaction when Prim died. I just read over the scene and I thought Katniss was dreaming . . . but she wasn't. :( Cinna was also really cool and close to Katniss, and also Mags was just . . . her act was so selfless. Also Rue. She was young, maybe she just wasn't set out for the job. But her death in the movie made me cry. Well not literally, but in my heart. :(

I'd have to save Finnick. He was just married! Poor Annie!
I was highly disappointed with Mockingjay. She just killed everyone off and Katniss only has Peeta and her children. No Gale, no friends, no mum, no sister. Prims death probably hit me the hardest though because it was so sudden. You can't just kill everyone! It ruined the book. I didn't want to read the rest of it. It could have ended much better.

I can't decide between Prim and Finnick.

Prim was too young. Katniss volunteered for her to save her life and in the end, to Katniss it would have all been for nothing, everything Katniss did was for Prim, and yet she still died.

BUT with Finnick, well he's Finnick. Oh and the fact that Annie is pregnant and she needs him.

Definitely Finnick. His death was not only pointless, it was completely glossed over in the book. I actually missed him dying for a few sentences and had to go back and re-read it. I almost had to quit reading at that point (but not quite).

Cinna. It took me a while to accept that he was actually dead. And Finnick, yeah I would definitely bring him back. I honestly don't even know why she killed him off in the first place.

Finnick for life.

I would go with Prim. That seriously pissed me off when she was killed so unceremoniously. It made me feel like, what the hell was Katniss struggling for all this time? It was Prim's name being drawn that acted as the catalyst for Katniss to act, and thus for the real story to begin. Although, a commenter above does make a good point, that it was Prim's death which caused Katniss to take action once again.

Everyone here seems to opt for Finnick, Cinna, Prim or Rue.

Personally, I'm stuck between Prim and Mags.
I know we didn't really get to know Mags because she died so early after she was introduced in the book, and since she's already so old it would be pointless to save her because she'd just die after a few years, but of all the deaths, hers was the one I wept the most. I'm not sure why but she just seemed so innocent, such a brave self-sacrificing woman, it was hard not to love her.

Prim- She's so sweet and I love that she helps out everyone in any way she can, and her development from the first book to the third was incredible and she matured so much it just felt satisfying to know that this innocent, scared little girl ended up being one of the bravest character in the series, and she saved so many people's lives it was unbelievable.

Prim, Finnick or Cinna

Prim, because that one was just such painfully ironic.

My original thought was Prim, not because she was so young, but because their would be a point to all Katniss sacrificed. In the end, everything was pointless because the one person she truly loved and wanted to save died anyway. However, she couldn't have truly seen through Coin without that death so I get it.
I would have to say Finnick. I agree, his death was pointless.

Rue.

At first I was thinking Finnick or Prim or something but Finnick had his share of life, I'd say. I know his death was one of the saddest in the trilogy but Rue and Prim are still innocent and worth saving.

I chose Rue because she didn't have a choice whether to die or not. She was picked for the hunger games and that was it, she knew she was going to die.
and now you're thinking, who has a choice in death?!?!
Well, Prim. She knew what her sister did for her and she knew that that was a very brave and dangerous thing to do. So, Prim, in order to thank her sister for saving her life, which in her sisters eyes was so worth saving, she went to go fight with her sister, without her knowing and got blown up. seems like a dumb choice to me. Well, at least she learned a valuable lesson... oh wait, never mind, she's dead. -_-

I just realized why people didn't like mocking jay!!!!!! Everybody died!!!!!! This isn't my favorite anymore. I hated that the whole reason katniss even volunteered was prim and she still got killed off!!!!!

Finnick. He was a great character, he death was pointless and unnecessary...

Prim. Her death was pointless and it made Katniss's initial sacrifice meaningless. I thought that was an unnecessary bit of emotional manipulation. The revolution was already underway; she didn't need to die.

I would save Finnick or/and Prim. Because why did Finnick deserve to die? He didn't do anything to die, it was a pointless dead... Poor Annie and their son, i feel so bad for them. But i would also have saved Prim, because she just tried to help others. I cryed so much when she died, and also when Finbnick died.

If i could i would have saved all of the people who died,almost everyone. It is a hard choice.

I would save Prim. I couldn't believe that she died! Wasn't my favorite character but she was so young and it was sad to me because of Katniss too.

Finnick or Cinna. Love 'em both.

ok i would save Finnick as well but I believe that if he had not been killed he would have voted "no" for the special edition of The Hunger Games with the Capitol's children..
And honestly i think Coin would have done something to change that result... Maybe she would be the one deciding (because of the draw) or maybe she would have had killed another victor... so she could have the games..
I don't know maybe I am exaggerating...

I would save Prim. That had to be the worst ending and she died so suddenly and all she was trying to do was help others. Poor Prim :-(

I'd save Finnick. It seems so tragic that Annie couldn't have some happiness with him and their child, after all the misery she'd had.

Probably rue cuz she was so relatable(plus I was also 12 when I first read the book) I cried so hard when she dies in the book and in the film so yeah....

prim was so likeable and Katniss did everything she could to save her and yet she still died. I also didn't like how she died cuz it was sudden and not well explained

Finnick coz he's hot he was about to become a father and it would have been nice for him, Annie and the child to be a family. It makes me sad that he's dead :( and yeah, he's asdfghjkl.

If I had to save just one, it would be Prim.

Finnick. He's death had no purpose, for real. Maybe it was just Colling showing us that none of her character got a happy end.

I would choose Finnick. The other deaths I could at least understand, they contributed to the story, but Finnick just died and he was my favorite character! That's the one death I still can't get over after reading the book.

I agree with almost everyone Finnick. His deathwas the most pointless beacue Prim's death as much as i hated it did spark Katniss into action so did Cinna's and Rue's so i have to go with Finnick

either Rue or Prim. Since the characters both had such an impact. GRR!!! So hard, I also really like Cinna...

This is a pretty easy question for me. I guess I would save Katniss because without her, Prim has no hope, what with her mom being a dramatic loon who'd rather lay around like a sack in bed all day instead of going out and learning to hunt from Katniss. You know-- being a mother?

Not that I liked Prim at ALL in the movie because Willow Shields did a HORRIBLE acting job. I mean, she was a big hype before the movie came out and then all she did was scream NOOOOO at the Reaping. And are we sure she's not Brooke Shields's daughter? ~Those eyebrows.

Finnick. But I was so angry when she killed of rue. But really I'm glad katniss didn't have to kill her.

Rue, hands down. I actually cried when she died. I felt that if the two left at the end of the Hunger Games were Katniss and Rue then Katniss would have let her win. I would bring her back because her death was the most touching.
