A follow up with the children of our folk would be interesting. I would be interested is seeing what the story line would be. Would have to be better than what Clancy did with Jack Ryan, Jr. The success would totally depend on what the story was and how it was then developed. If not done well, then don't, the series ended well and I still enjoy rereading the stories.

i'd be against Rowling continuing the series. i mean, it's done and u can't undo taking a bow.
I believe it would be fascinating if she made a prequel to the series. But I think that the original 7 books is enough.
I agree with that completely. The Harry Potter series gave readers a certain magic that, I have personally noticed, is not present in any other book. For J.K. Rowling to continue the books, there would be no thrilling story, no breath-taking moments where you say, "Wow, she is some writer." Like Kaitlyn (and some others)suggested, she could write prequels of the books and/or the books in other character's point of view. But those would just be books for fans like us. As I've said before, the magic of the Harry Potter series must end the way that it did.
Absolutely, though i agree with many others to do a different point if view... Call me crazy, but Hermione or Ron's point of view would be cool :)
All of you who want Rowling to continue the HP books, either sequel or from someone else's point of view - go read fan fiction 'cause that's not gonna happen.
Probably not but if she could write a really good book about Hogwarts 30 years later with all the descendants of the original characters that would be awesome.

exactly what i was thinking
While I think if Rowling were to continue the series, it might not be that great because she had a perfect ending. Adding more to it might seem like a cheap add on. While it would have been nice to have a different ending and it continue it might have worked. The ending now of Harry and and his kids could've rather hard. I think it would be interesting if Harry's son experienced some of the same events and they handled it together that could be good, but it's just another add on so it probably wont work.
Who knows? Maybe after some time Rowling will write new books set in the same world with Harry Potter. That would be good. Imagine some recurring characters from the original series. I just wanna read more from Rowling
I will be the first to say that I would love to continue reading about Harry and all of his adventures. But I can't. The way that she ended the best book series of all time was too perfect to do anything more with it. Because when authors get the opportunity to play more with old characters, they get a little more violent. I for one do not want to end up with Ron dead or Hermione losing her powers or something. The way that the story is now gives everyone peace that Harry's story ended well. That doesn't happen very often.
Is that a trick question?Actually thought, a Marauders spin-off would be neat, but I doubt it will ever happen. However, Rowling will be doing the writing in the upcoming "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" movie, which I suppose is kind of a spin-off continuation of the series.
I don't think she should. I feel that the story has been told. However, books about the Harry Potter universe would be good! Though J.K Rowling knows the world better than all of us so if she feels there's nothing more to add then there probably isnt.

I really wish she does! :("
Hy ,G. Norman Lippert wrote 3 books about what happens after the war . Even J. K. Rowling admited they are great , I am reading them at the moment and the style is pretty much the same . I am in love with these books !
I always thought of the idea of her doing a book about voldermort and how he became how he is I know that in the books and tho movie you do see it but I would like a lot more insight into all of his childhood and his parents and just everything about him maybe how he met the death eaters and stuff like that I always thought it would be a great idea.... What you think what would you like to see?
I love the Harry Potter books. As a YA author, JK has been an inspiration to me. I agree with most of the comments. 7 books have been a wonderful escape, but I agree that it should come to an end. But you never know, JK has suprised us all along the way. I would like to see a spin-off book. If anyone can pull it off - I know she can!
Well...is that something you ask about? Of COURSE she should continue the series. She SHOULD. I would like to go up to her and tell her myself (although I might become tongue-tied to see her)...I would give ANYTHING to make JKR continue the series. ANYTHING.
The series should continue. The series should talk about the children of the characters. That would be a great series, too. (Sigh) If only that happened...
I love Harry Potter so much, it is my favourite series in the world and I'm happy with the ending. I would hate to see such a wonderful story become any less wonderful because of a not so good spin-off.
YES!!! maybe do a spin-off based on the life harry's kids.it would be awesome if Harry, Ron and Hermione will try to meddle but since it is their offspring, you can bet that they are capable on their own.
:)
Like everyone else, I don't want the magic of the Harry Potter series to end, but (let's face it) they HAVE to at some point. There are too many great authors that have killed their book series by dragging them out forever, and it would be too awful J. K. Rowling did the same!
Who doesn't want Harry Potter to end. The series was amazing, deserving the success that it received.Unfortunately,J.K.Rowling announced that never again would she delve into the magical world. Although she said that she is making another series, it saddens me that it is in the form of movies and not books.
What I would love to see is a book based on Luna's life. And if Fred had still been alive, then a book about all the Weasley twin adventures. Wouldn't that be something?
I wouldn't want any more books on Harry... I would want more on side characters- his parents and the marauders.. Or maybe Neville or the Malfoy/Black family history

I would want J.K. Rowling to write more books in a slightly changed way. I don't really think its fair for there to be a main character which in these series is Harry, I think she should have three main characters, all which have equal powers! It would be fair to Ron and Hermoine!
Not in the way she is doing it. I think it is messing with the canon and people tend to mesh her outside potter comments and short snippets with actual book material. Now if she wrote a book about Dumbledores life or the marauders, that would become its own canon and I would really love that
I'd want the Albus Potter series, starring Albus, Lily II, James II, Hugo and Rose. Maybe only one book though- not seven.

This post is suuuper late but simply no I don't think she should continue with the hp story as in harry ron hermione and their lives. she basically said harry potter alluded to her struggles like her mother passing away, he struggles, etc so i guess in a way it was like her getting over it? Like moving on from it? Idk that's just the way I see it :) But I definitely would look forward to anything else she writes whether it be harry potter related or not.
I would welcome anything related to Harry, in particular explorations of some of the "secondary" characters.
I would literally embrace anything to do with the magical world of Harry Potter - I really wish she'd continue it!
I do not want her to continue writing Harry Potter fiction. I think the series is perfect and anything else might not be so perfect. I do though, want her to write books such as Hogwarts, A History or A History of Magic (both of which are OF COURSE nonfiction). That would be awesome.
I'd really appreciate Voldemort's lifestory. The years we have no memories of. What he did, how he did, with whom and why.And Marauders. That would be like a song to my ears.
I'm no J.K. Rowling, but if you've ever wondered what Harry's world might look like on the other side of the pond, check out jinadare.com.
I am happy with the series as it is, but who knows? If she did carry on the with the Harry Potter series it could be brilliant and with new ideas that we'd never have thought of!
I think she shouldn't write about Harry.....but the other branches like about the marauders or about Voldemort even perhaps Dumbledore because many people would actually like to know more about their history and what made them take such decisions and their personality....because they are such complex characters in the books
That would be awesome do it from the kids side but on the other hand it already has this beautiful ending why expand it. You know she can keep writing the Harry Potter series until she dies she can keep coming up with generations and I'm sure we will fall in love with it all but what if she dies in the middle of writing the next generation we won't have anymore. I like the way it ends it is bittersweet to have the journey stop but you know what we can always come back to it whenever we want because for us the adventure is never over
Anyone who doesn't give G. Norman. Lippert's James Potter series a shot, because it isn't "canon" is doing themselves a great injustice. J.K. Rowling backs them, says they're fantastic. Also D.C. Evan's Jina Dare series is also very creative and also worthy of a read. Don't discount them just because they're not "canon". Trust me...
