Italia8989 No. Just ... no. I was honestly depressed after finishing the last "Harry Potter" book because I felt there was no other literature piece in the world QUITE like it--and that is exactly why J.K. is not continuing thus far. The series was seven books for a reason, and stretching it out, even if it focused on different people, would be pointless. Harry did what he needed to do. It would be hard to come up with an antagonist as terrible as Voldemort, because there is none other like him in the history of reading. (I apologize for this biased answer.)

April | 30 comments I have to agree with the person who wrote that she should write one more book after the war. Then maybe books about Harry's parents as teens themselves.

Yes! That would be interesting indeed!

Kristy (kristydanielle14) Yes, she definitely should!

message 58: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Rivera (nicolelrivera) | 31 comments Yes and no. I would love for more Potter books, but what I really want to read about is the story of Snape, Lily, and James. I would love to follow them through a series.

Totally agree :)

message 60: by Elle (new) - rated it 5 stars

Elle (oceanstone) | 41 comments I don't think she should write more about Harry. But definitely a book about different characters in the same general "world".

message 61: by Kevin (new)

Kevin Bertao | 3 comments If any other book was written I would prefer it to be a prequel, perhaps discussing Voldemort and his initial rise to power and the first war before Harry was born. I would love to see what caused this man to commit such evil deeds.

Harry and Voldemort were always linked. There lives were constantly interconnected to the other. This would be the only other story that makes sense to tell.

A story telling what happened after would be be just silly in my opinion. The story is over. Good triumphed over evil. There is nothing more to tell.

Agreed. That would be awesome!

message 65: by Ali (new)

Ali Ormond | 2 comments a continuation would be nice a spin off series would be good or even the whole series through malfoy or sapes pov

message 66: by Hallie (new)

Hallie (hallieroseamat) | 1 comments I love the books, and I always have, but I think that she shouldn't add on. I actually wish she hadn't slid the epilogue in there, because I feel that we can just leave the books thinking whatever we want happens after. You can just imagine the perfect scenarios for all the characters and even believe they're possible. Does that make sense?

Reggie Shanala | 249 comments Justin wrote: "The full story of the founders of hogwarts would be nice"

That would be nice, a book about the drama of creating a school for children.

JK def. could have ended the series before the epilogue, but, personally, I liked that bit, to know how everyone ended up, his children.
But anymore than that would be too much.

message 69: by SP (new)

SP (readingwriting4eva) | 30 comments No. She could write something set in the Wizarding World but Harry's life got a good closure imo.

message 72: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Anderson (chillinkristen) I would love it if in a few years, maybe when the series is a little further from our minds, she caught everybody off guard by coming out with a book catching us up with what everyone has been up to. Think of how awesome it would be to get that news when you're just at work in the middle of the day or whatever! And by the way, I'm revisiting the books on a book club podcast that my brother and I started- we just posted the talk we had about The Sorcerer's Stone this week, and we're going to move through the whole series, alternating other books in between. If you'd like to check it out you can here:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/b...
We veer off topic sometimes and there's definitely some language in it, so it may not be best to listen to with kids around, but we had a great time talking about the book, as well at Pottermore and the movie version a bit.

message 73: by Natasha S ♥ (new)

Natasha S ♥ (tashieareads) I think it'd be cool to have the series redone throught someone else's point of view: Maybe Ron, Ginny, or Hermione. Not continued exactly.. but redone from a new point of view.

message 74: by Sara (new)

Sara She has to write a series about Harry, Ginny, Hermione, Ron, and Draco's kids!! I really want to see how they resemble their parents. Like Hermione's kid would be so smart and Draco's kid would be just like him (if you know what I'm saying)!
One of my friends wrote a short 25 page book on what the kids were like! Kinda cool, but not what I expected them to be like.

Totally the Sorting Hat one or the biography on McGonagall or Dumbledore.

Well, they're is Harry and Ginny's sons, related to Fred & George, so they're bound to get into A LOT of trouble.

message 78: by Tyler (new)

Tyler | 10 comments Lol that's true I guess. It just needs to. Continue

message 79: by Sage (new)

Sage Kralovic (sagekralovic) Although it would be nice to have it continue, I wouldn't want it to sound forced. The original books were an amazing original idea for sure, but sometimes, sequels tend to sound forced or not as good. Honestly, I would be ok either way, but I would want to keep the old charm.

very true.

message 81: by Jazzy (new)

Jazzy | 20 comments I think another book would be great! I am always reading harry potter because I love it so much, but when I go to grab a book, I realise that I want something new! Maybe if it was about the aftermath of the war, finishing school, getting a job, maybe leading up to 19 years later! I wouldn't mind either way it was a fantastic ending but it's such a great series I long for more!

message 82: by Lindsey (new)

Lindsey I think it would be cool if she wrote a short story about their kids, but I agree that Harry Potter should remain as kind of a legend instead of dragging it on.

message 83: by Emma (new)

Emma Reed (reedyemma) I personally would love to read a series about when the war first begun, and the battle with Grindelward. Also about the marauders and their school years.

message 84: by Paula (last edited Jan 14, 2014 12:39AM) (new)

Paula I feel like the series ended in the perfect way. Of course I am sad that there aren't any more books but anything else would seem out of place.

message 85: by Harry (new)

Harry (har1) | 11 comments OF COURSE! I LOVE THEM!

message 86: by Tyler (new)

Tyler | 10 comments I deffinitley think there should be more about HP WHAT ABOUT the joke shop or there kids?

Vihanga Wijayasekara (vihangaaw) | 13 comments I like this series very much. I think J.K.Rowling should continue this series.

message 88: by Wendy (new)

Wendy Mcbride | 18 comments Personally, I wouldn't want her to write another actual book, as we've gotten our closure, but stick to books providing extensive background information or more of it on certain characters.

Personally, though, if I had to choose, I'd love something based on year 6 from Draco's point of view. He was definitely going through a rough time in that book. I was even feeling a bit sorry for him as he was clearly stressed in HBP and DH.

It would also be nice to show what happened to some of the other characters who weren't mentioned in the epilogue or wasn't specifically mentioned. I'd love to know how the Dursleys turned out, especially Dudley. Did they, at any point, change their ways after going into hiding? The way Dudley was towards Harry at the beginning of DH (concerned for his welfare) was very curious and the most decent he'd ever been with Harry over the course of the books and seems it's all because of the Dementor attack on him in OotP.

So yeah, more background information on some of the characters after the war would suit me just fine, especially those like Dudley and some of the other Hogwarts students.

message 89: by Kary (last edited Feb 04, 2014 11:43AM) (new)

Kary | 1 comments I don't think she should the series, the ending was perfect and even though they are amazing in every way it leaves us to create the perfect fro our perfect characters

message 90: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Kobus (rainbowsunset) I'd like a book about James, Lily and Snape's years at school; or maybe Gilderoy Lockhart's story! LOL. I don't think she should continue Harry's story though. I've had closure, I don't want to ruin that.

message 91: by Mary (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mary (gryffindorbs) | 93 comments Brianna wrote: "I like the ending. I'm happy she stuck to what she said, and only wrote seven books. This is my absolute favorite series, but I would hate to see it dragged out unnecessarily."

I think that's absolutely right! It was beautiful and perfect until a bitter-sweet but funny ending. She left all of us in the fandom to go off with our imagination and write fan fiction. I finished the series when I was 8 (my mom read the books to me) and wrote a few pages about Albus' life at Hogwarts (It's pretty bad, but the plot was fine).

message 92: by Becca (new)

Becca Nevin | 7 comments I wish that the series would keep going like if they made a wizardy college for them to go to.

message 93: by Lilac (new)

Lilac | 31 comments I think Harry's story is over, but it would be nice if J.K. Rowling decided to write another book/series that took place in that world.

message 94: by [deleted user] (new)

That would be cool, like from a shopkeeper in Diagon Alley's point of view or something...

message 95: by Arthur (new)

Arthur cameron (arthurcameron) | 1 comments Yes, she should continue harry potter series. because I love it

message 96: by N (new)

Stacy Jensen | 2 comments No, let it stand as is, let it continue in fan fic or pastiches.

message 100: by Bex (new)

Bex | 24 comments To be honest with you, I don't want her to continue with the series because yeah, I'm sad that it ended but all good things must come to an end, you know? She shouldn't drag out the series more than she should
