Steph (angel4492) | 32724 comments Hiya, Teammies! :D
I'm looking forward to another round of BSB!

Okay, so, names. All I can think of right now are DOZEN-type names (Dirty Dozen, etc). I'm happy with whatever name ya'll like. I'll try to think of some ideas after uni. Gotta get to school. Hope everyone has a great day! Lookin' forward to chatting soon!

Rushed off before saying I'm now in Cali. Where's everyone else located?

message 6: by Kari (new)

Kari | 223 comments Hey Steph! Excited to get a round with you! Hello to everyone else *waves* I'm Kari and I'm from Colorado.

If we don't go with a dozen type themes we could play off time and do like Midnight Readers or Midnight Oil Burners. I don't know about you all but most my reading goes late into the night :)

message 7: by Isha (new)

Isha Hey Team! I'm Nikita and I'm from New Zealand. I'm horrible at coming up with names but I like the midnight suggestions Kari.

message 8: by Jackie M (new)

Jackie M | 695 comments Hello! I'm Jackie from Minnesota.
I am thrilled to be playing R7 with you ladies!

I kinda like the midnight idea. I'll be back in a bit with some ideas.

message 9: by Isha (new)

Isha I've checked the card Steph and it looks good.

message 10: by Jackie M (new)

Jackie M | 695 comments I'm sending out friend invites to you Kari, Nikita, and Christina.

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 1242 comments Hello, ladies! I'm Christina, and I live in Kentucky.

I'm also stuck on the "Dozen" theme -- though more along the lines of calling ourselves things that could come in sets of twelve: Cupcakes, Eggs, Calendar Girls, Days of Christmas. I like the Midnight idea and will take it one step further...NOON! ;-) Ladies Who Lunch???

Though she didn't mention it this time/yet...I pretty sure Steph would prefer *NOT* to be team captain. I've done it before, so I'm willing to step up again if no one else is interested -- I may not be the chattiest person, but I'm pretty good at checking in and keeping things organized. The only issue will be in late July, when I'm at Ranger Rendezvous, which will be for only a week.

message 12: by Jackie M (new)

Jackie M | 695 comments If you want to be team captain go for it Christina, I can fill in for you in late July as I have been team captain before.

I am drawing a complete blank with names, for me this is the hardest part of bingo lol.

message 13: by Kari (new)

Kari | 223 comments I'm good with whoever being team captain. I have experience with it however with my work schedule I'm more than happy to sit back and let someone else worry about it :) if you need any help with anything let us know though!

message 14: by Isha (new)

Isha I've been in other team challenges but this will be my first time playing BookShelf Bingo so I'm good with whoever wants to be captain as well.

Okey-dokey, I'll be team captain, if Steph doesn't have any objections (and I'll convert this space for tracking our reads).

Any questions yet? Have you decided on your FREE SPACE book?

message 17: by Isha (new)

Isha Nope no questions right now, seems easy enough right now. I usually don't plan my book ahead of time but I'll probably read Heart Of Obsidian for free space, which reminds me that I'll need to be careful about reading any review about that book since I don't want any spoliers before I get to read that book including who the main characters are.

message 18: by Kari (new)

Kari | 223 comments Thanks for stepping up Christina! We all appreciate it. I'm excited to start playing!! I think my free space book will probably depend on whatever the first shelf called is, I will try to match them up so I can knock out the first 2 in a series. I have a whole bunch to start so it would work well for my TBR list!!

You're welcome! :D

Same here! Normally, I wouldn't buy the HC, but I knew this one would be very hard to avoid spoilers for, so I ordered it months ago. I'm reading it for the FS -- thankfully Lis posted it in the new release folder, otherwise it would not have been eligible as a FS book. It wasn't there before and it isn't on SOS's bookshelf (the last time I looked).

message 20: by Kari (new)

Kari | 223 comments So I started the Game of Thrones last week and now I am madly reading to get it finished before first shelf is called. I'm about halfway!

message 21: by Jackie M (new)

Jackie M | 695 comments How do you like The Game of Thrones Kari? It looks good to me, but I just haven't gotten around to reading it.

I'm not sure what I'll read for my free space book yet. I'll have to wait and see what I'm in the mood for.

message 22: by Kari (new)

Kari | 223 comments I'm 400 pages in, so halfway and so far I love it!! It helps that I watched the first season of the TV show before I started the book though. The TV show is excellent as well, I'm definitely surprised at how true to the world they have stayed so far!

There are an awful lot of POV in this book and having an introduction to the world made getting into the book less complicated. That being said, the book is extremely addicting and I predict I will have no problem finishing it quickly!

The real test will be trying to juggle my desire to finish the rest of the series versus shelf books haha.

message 23: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32724 comments Hi, Ladies! I'm swamped with uni course work at the moment, which sadly means not enough GR time or time to read good books. >:/ But, I'm super excited about getting going with R7. Really happy to get a chance to play along side you lovelies.

Thanks for volunteering to sport the Cap Hat, Christina! :D

I like going with a name with Midnight in it. Cool use of the number 12. We could also go w/something 12noon-related, like someone else suggested. Maybe "Afternoon Delights" LOL! I'm drawing a blank, actually, but will try to throw out some add'l suggestions soon.

message 24: by Jackie M (new)

Jackie M | 695 comments I am just gonna throw some name ideas out there.
Midnight Bookies
Midnight Warriors
The Midnight Hour
Long After Midnight
Midnight Magic
Midnight Angels
Midnight Run or Runners
Naughty Nooners
And that's about as creative as I get lol.

message 25: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32724 comments I like those, Jackie. My mind tends to run on the dirty side, so I like Naughty Nooners best, I think. I loved the movie, Twelve Monkeys, so that comes to mind when thinking of names with the #12 in them.

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 1242 comments Jackie M said: I'm not sure what I'll read for my free space book yet. I'll have to wait and see what I'm in the mood for.

No problem. :)

Kari said: The real test will be trying to juggle my desire to finish the rest of the series versus shelf books haha.

If they're on the weekly shelf, I say go for it. Actually, you could even read one for the FREE SPACE, as the series is shelved on SOS's bookshelf. :D See, guilt-free reading. ;-)

StephB said: Thanks for volunteering to sport the Cap Hat, Christina! :D

You're welcome! One less thing for you to worry about for the game.

Team name: Steph said "Afternoon Delight" and I thought "Godiva Truffles".

The Midnight Hour --- Kitty Norville!

Waffles of the Apocalypse.

Message #15 is now set up for tracking our reads and stamps.

message 27: by Kari (new)

Kari | 223 comments I kinda like naughty nooners too hahahah

message 28: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32724 comments :) GdMTA, Kari!

Names, names, names ... what'cha think, ladies? I'm cool with whatever the group decides. I'm not thinking of much in way of creative team names, but here's what I've come up with so far:

The Number
District 12
12 Monkeys
12 Steppers ('cuz we're all serious series addicts)

Random
Judge & Jury (12 people on a jury)
Bibliobabes

Midnight/Noon
Midnight Mavens
Naughty Nooners

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 1242 comments Judge and Jury -- we are, sort of, judging books and it still a nod to the team number. I like it. :-)

I'm good with anything, really. :-D

message 30: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32724 comments Thanks. Yeah, me too. :D

message 31: by Jackie M (new)

Jackie M | 695 comments I like Judge and Jury that's the one that gets my vote.

message 32: by Isha (new)

Isha I'm fine with either Naughty Nooners or Judge & Jury.

message 33: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32724 comments Guess we should start narrowing them down and pick somethin' soon 'cuz shelf will announced tomorrow sometime. :D YAY!

I'm totally fine with whatever everyone likes. But, if I had to pick my faves, it'd be the same as ya'll - Judge & Jury or Naughty Nooners - in no particular order.

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 1242 comments Since I couldn't decide, I went as far as putting the names in a box and picking one -- Naughty Nooners. :D

message 35: by Jackie M (new)

Jackie M | 695 comments Naughty Nooners we are, great way to make the call Captain!

I want to give you guys a heads up that I may be MIA Sunday and Monday due to a death in my family that requires a twelve hour drive to Nebraska. I didn't want you ladies to think I bailed. I probably wont get much reading done either because reading in the car gets me carsick. I'm still not sure if I am going, I'll. Know for sure tomorrow.

message 36: by Kari (new)

Kari | 223 comments Sorry to hear about your family Jackie :( No problems if you have to leave though take care of yourself!!

Christina - For now put my free space down as A Clash of Kings and if it fits the first shelf called better or anything like that I will change it up from there but I'm so thoroughly addicted to Game of Thrones right now it's a sure bet i'm diving straight into that one as soon as I can!!

message 37: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25912 comments So sorry to hear that Jackie :( All my sympathies to you and your family.

message 38: by Isha (new)

Isha Jackie I'm sorry to hear that about your family, hope you take care of yourself.

Sorry to hear of your loss. And no worries, Jackie. Family's more important than the game.

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 1242 comments Shelf:

assassins

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 1242 comments Kari, Book 3 is on the assassins list. So you can read book 2 for the FS and the 3rd for assassins. :D

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 1242 comments I'll be reading The Better Part of Darkness

It's been on my shelf for awhile.

message 43: by Kari (new)

Kari | 223 comments Christina you are awesome haha! I'm definitely on board for that plan :)

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 1242 comments :D Thanks! I happened to notice it because it was the last book on page 7 of the shelf.

I'll put you down for A Storm of Swords. If you change your mind, let me know. :)

message 45: by Isha (new)

Isha I'll be reading Halfway to the Grave for the assassins shelf.

message 46: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32724 comments I'm so sorry for your loss, Jackie! Thinking of you and yours!

Naughty Nooners! Love it!

Assassins! Off to scope the list and find something to read. I'll be back shortly with my book choice. Go, team, Go! :D

message 47: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32724 comments Honestly, I'm not sure which book I want to read from this shelf. I am thinking I'll read Blood Kin (The Half-Light City, #2) by M.J. Scott . I'll let ya know if I change my mind.

Happy Reading!

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 1242 comments Updated message #15

I'm off to bed now. :D

message 49: by Jackie M (new)

Jackie M | 695 comments Thank you everyone, I will be gone for a couple if days.

For the assassins shelf I am going to read Silver-Tongued Devil (Sabina Kane, #4) by Jaye Wells
