I love puns and word play, so Octing Up appeals to me. Of course 8 Maenads A Reading has kind of grown on me overnight too.Gaping Eights, hmmm, for some reason Grape Ape is now running through my head. Grape Ape, Grape Ape ... aaaand now I feel old. LOL. When I checked out the random generator The American Geckos popped up and made me laugh.
As far as Captain, I'm willing to organize and keep up on the reviews. However, I don't have internet at home, so my access on nights and weekends will depend on if I'm over at my friends. I would need someone else willing to back me up and let Steph know when we are ready for a stamp if it comes down to the wire on winning. Of course, if someone's willing to do it all, I'm entirely willing to let them. ;D

Wonderful. And, kudos to Midu for the team name suggestion. It looks like we're good to go.I'm not sure if everyone has played before, so here are a couple tips/reminders.
Even though Steph has moved back to the States, shelf announcements are going to be made by Judithe in Japan. Sunday morning in Japan is roughly equivalent to Saturday evening here in Illinois. I'm not sure where everyone on the team is located, but that should give you a couple reference points. Announcements are made on the Shelf Announcements page.
After the first shelf announcement this weekend, we can start reading our Free Space book also. A 200+ page book from:

Any book posted in the SOS New Release threads, which can include the older NR threads also.
I'm debating on the free space right now, so it'll be ready to go as soon as the game starts. Some possibilities from series I'm determined to finish/get caught up on by the end of the year are:

I've had this book on my Kindle for a while, so I was glad that I finally had an excuse to read it. I really enjoyed it. If any of you have read it, is it just me or is Bones like a dirtier version of Spike, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer? Also, please tell me Timmie makes another appearance in the later books in the series, I really loved him.

Glad you enjoyed Halfway to the Grave, Danie. This series and other books set in the Night Huntress world are among my favorites.

A typical UF-strong, kick ass, smart mouthed heroine, lot of action, lot of violence, friends you'd do anything to save, villains who'd go to any lengths.
It wasn't that I didn't like it, I did but it wasn't anything unusual.
The cop was such a goody two shoes that I wanted to throttle him.
Saw the sister being alive part long before we were told of it.
What I really liked was that Gin had mad fighting skills & she wasn't shy to let the guy know she wanted him.

Wasn't too long and the action was non-stop, as were the laughs.
Betsy and her penchant for giving nicknames to villains were both instantly likeable.
