I'm a big fan of Karen Marie Moning's Fever series so I had high expectations of this and I wasn't disappointed. I'm not a big fan of historical's but the story is so well written you get pulled right in.
With vengeful fae and time travelling heroine's there is a lot to love about this story. With a lot of great supporting characters (which I hope to read more about!) this was an enjoyable read and I will definitely be reading more from this series.

Still one of my favorite series, but I think I liked this one the best. Hunter seemed like such an asshole (pardon my language) in the previous books, but in this one, it kind of was explained why. I was pretty happy about that.

I have the second one but I will need to buy the rest but I love Karen Marie Moning. I just got a friend of mine from the US to get me a set of the Fever Tarot cards and she is sending them over! Can't wait for them :)

I'm in the middle of reading

Her FBI/US Attorney series is great! Her second book, Practice Makes Perfect is another stand-alone. You could skip it, but if you do read it, you'll see how her writing improves with each book. :)

Not that I'd want to make it harder for you to choose or anything....;-)

I'll be reading

Do what you can, as I know you are fast and love to read, but if it gets too much for you just drop a line here in the thread.

Review:
* The whole idea about werewolves as Guardians though nothing new was still done well.
* The girl took too long to get things that were plain to anybody with some sense but I guess she was raised that way.
* She also couldn't decide which boy she liked which was annoying.
* She ran away with a guy she barely knew when she knew her pack (& family) would be tortured. She also expected Ren to cover for her! Really selfish when throughout the book she'd been claiming she can't be selfish!

Sorry it took longer for me to post my review than expected, June is just lousy with birthdays in my family and had the third party of the month this weekend. One more to go next weekend and we should be done for a while.
Book Boyfriends

Rating: 3 stars
Review: This is a really hard one to rate. Despite major character flaws and an action that skated pretty close to unforgivable territory (view spoiler) , I ended up liking Jason by the end of the book. Not loving, just liking. While I could relate more to Justine, some of her actions weren't really well thought out either. (view spoiler)
Overall, something just seemed to be missing and my feeling for the characters bled over into my feeling for the whole book. Not loving, just liking.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Strong Heroines

Rating: 4 stars
Review: I really enjoyed this book. Whether she's writing under this name or Allyson James, I can always count on Jennifer Ashley for a captivating read. Cassidy and Diego, each grieving for lost loved ones, are both strong characters and I loved their interaction with each other. And while I missed the Morrisseys, absent except for a minor cameo from one, it was great to learn more about Eric Warden (Cassidy's brother), his family and the Las Vegas Shiftertown. I'll definitely be reading the next book in this series.

Review: I was worried that Anna wouldn't live up to it's reputation. But from the minute I picked up the book, I didn't want to put it down. Blake's descriptions of Anna and the house were vivid, capturing my imagination from the start. I would have liked a little more on the bad guy and Thomas, but overall a wonderful read.

This is the second time I have attempted to read this and both times I really struggled to get into it. I'm really glad I stuck it out this time as it was definitely worth it!
Janet is a stormwalker (she controls storm) and the daughter of an evil goddess from Beneath and with the help of her boyfriend Mick and trickster god Coyote she hopes to defeat her.
I liked the characters and the action was non stop. There was one character I really wanted to beat with a stick throughout this book and that was Nash! I'm not sure that will change throughout the next few books.
I will be buying the rest of the series.

Vilda: I've only read one Julie James, but I really enjoyed it. And you're doing fine with the Free-Space read.
Danie: How are you doing? I hope everything's okay.

I'm going to make another stamp request, then I probably won't be able to check back in again until Monday. Have a great weekend, everyone.

Book:

Date Read: 03-07-13
Rating: ★★★
Review:
* Typical epic fantasy.
* World building was good, as was the whole concept of Allomancy.
* My favorite was Kelsier, of course.
* The ending was just all right...Vin just "knew" what she had to do?
* Why was there need of the cliffhanger, even after the bad guys were killed? That was stupid!

Review:
* Very Charley.
* Loved the quips at the start of each chapter, like always.
* Found Reyes less annoying in this one.
* As usual, we're given next to no info on Charley's purpose and Reyes' actual plans.
* The organ naming got old after the third organ had been named!

Shelf: angels and demons
I'm a big Nora fan so I don't really dislike a lot of her books but I like this one a lot as it dips into the dark and supernatural.
This is book one of the trilogy about a group of three young boys who let out an evil demon who every seven years drive the towns people of Hawkins Hollow to do monstrous things.
Cal is one of the boys who originally let the demon out and when he meets Quinn, a woman who has come to write a book on the town, they are drawn to each other and aim to defeat the demon. With the help of Fox, Gage, Lilah and Cybil they have to find out how to stop it.
I enjoyed this book and have already started reading book 2 in the series.

Rating: 4 stars (It was almost 3.5, but I just loved Grandmother! LOL)
Review: I've been wanting to continue this series for a while and decided to start with a reread of the first three books since I haven't touched them in over five years.
On the surface, Wilks' world is fairly standard to UF. Lupi (werewolves) are on the verge of being declared citizens, certain Lupi clans are fighting this change, a minority of humans can work magic and the majority of humans believe demons and magical "miracles" are exaggerated stories. However, the details she has created are interesting. Lupi society is interesting and I look forward to learning more. I'm also hoping to see more human magic users beyond Sensitives and Dizzies. It's the characters populating Wilks' universe that's the real draw for me.
Lily and Rule are an interesting couple. Forced to stay in close proximity due to the mate bond, they're learning to work within its confines. A traumatic childhood tragedy has led Lily into law enforcement. Knowing how important being able to do her job is to her, Rule willingly joins Lily in Washington D.C. during her investigation. Their stay in Dis (Hell) should have drawn them closer and it has in some ways, but they're also each hiding fears from the other.
Cynna and Cullen argue constantly, while fighting an underlying attraction. I'm not particularly invested in a relationship between the two, but I am willing to see where it goes in the future.
Lily's Grandmother is probably my favorite character and I can't wait to learn more about her history with Dragons.
I'm looking forward to continuing on to book 4.
