R7: Team #7 ~ Sizzling Seven

Having little trouble to choose my free read. Well, there is over 2000 books on SOS bookshelves, so how hard can it be, right? Wrong :)
The three paranormal books, that I was saving for Bingo and really want to read this summer, unfortunately were not on the shelves, so I'll keep looking

Book: Entwined with You by Sylvia Day
Series: Crossfire #3
Shelf: Book Boyfriends
Read: 6/12/2013
Rate: ★★★1/2
Review:
This picks up right after the drama and cliff-hanger of the 2nd book in the series. Eva and Gideon are still madly in love and having to overcome the big events and the fall out. These are both two very damaged individuals dealing with a lot of childhood abuse issues and how those issues manifested in adulthood with their sexual habits and appetites. Both are still dealing with their relationship insecurities and trust issues. They still seem to be able to save each other and support the issues they have. The Exes are still popping up and circling around the edges, but it seems like they are going to work past it this time. We also get Cary and several side character stories woven thru too for some added drama.
There was a lot of sex-capades in this edition to the point it got to be a little too much and distracted from the storyline IMO. I really enjoyed the first two books and preferred them over the 50 series, but this one unfortunately fell a little short. This was also suppose to be the 3rd and final in this trilogy but has been extended a few more books (cha ching$$)... Which I think made this one feel like a filler book and didn't really add much but stretched the storyline out more.

Book: Unleashed by Cherrie Lynn
Series: Ross Siblings #1
Shelf: Book Boyfriends
Read: 6/13/2013
Rate: ★★★★
I do occasionally pick up an erotic romance to have a quick easy read between more serious books and when I do, I expect the real hot chemistry between h&H.
This is , in my opinion, what separates the good writers from the wannabes riding on the hype of the genre right now.
Cherrie Lynn did a very good job telling the story of friends-to-lovers. The chemistry between Kelsey and Evan was hot, hot, hot! I could feel their desire for each other and I didn't just flip through the sex-scene pages like I usually do in some not so good romances.
Maybe there was a bit much of misery and moaning about the things happend to them in the past but that didn't bother me and I enjoyed the story all the way to the HEA.
I would take Evan Ross to be my book-boyfriend anytime :)

And where did the rest of our teamies go? It's been very quiet, how are your shelf picks going?

It has been very quiet here and I hope everyone is reading :)
I started Down London Roadyesterday and so far it looks as good as the first book. The previous characters are slightly present but the main couple is new.
I try to finish my book before I travel this week (I'll be back in California, finally!)and as I have a very long boring flight and very busy couple of weeks ahead, I'll try to start my Free Read book

Book: Tiger Magic by Jennifer Ashley
Series: Shifter Unbound #5
Shelf: Strong Heroines
Read: 6/17/2013
Rate: ★★★★
Review:
Another great edition to the Shifter Unbound series. JA never disappoints me. Tiger has to be one of the most tortured heroes in any of the shifter worlds I've read. Grown in a lab, tested, tortured and deprived of most interaction, he has been relocated to the Austin shiftertown and trying to find his place. Since the lab that created him was destroyed, there is no history or records of his origin or purpose. The shifter bureau and other pack leaders feel the world would be safer if he no longer exists. He is so different from the other shifters and has special abilities that scares all the others except the cubs he is willing to protect ferociously. He appears in his future mate's life just it is up-ended by her fiancé.
I really enjoy this series and your heart just goes out to this socially awkward alpha as he struggles to fit in and not be killed. Parts of this book made me so angry because he is so maliciously hurt over and over, I had to just breathe and remind myself "it's just a fictional character"... Lucky for Tiger he met up with a mate that was equally smitten with him and completely defended this odd shifter, Carly was definitely a Strong Heroine. I think I like this style of writing because it creates another species and then the author throws all these typical prejudices that we face day to day and it really sucks you in makes you feel all passionate and ready to fight for these abused shifters.

I'm iPadding it, so I have to stop save before I can copy and paste... It just takes me a couple updates, you caught me between edits.

Thanks to the one person that tagged the book with it. Whew!!

I've been putting off reading this one for a while as I wasn't really a fan of Lore. But from the beginning of this book you start to see some of his background and realise he isn't all bad. Most of his choices are so that he can protect his sister (who i'm not sure about at the moment but her books next so we will see).
I really liked the Romance between Lore and Idess because you wouldn't expect them to be together, plus i'd never heard or memitim before so found that whole storyline interesting. Because I know there's a spin off series all these weird things that are happening i'm automatically thinking it must be to set up that world so am looking forward to the next installments.

Sigh how I love Will Cooper.
I loved the first two of this trilogy so was scared this one wouldn't live up to them but oh it did there was still plenty of tissues needed and lots of laughs. Even though you already know the story its like you're reading a different story when it comes from Will's POV, You understand why he reacted certain ways to things with Layken and how he dealt with their situation. The honeymoon clips were great for letting us know how the other was feeling and I LOVED the epilogue they make such a great family.
I'm also glad there were still plenty of Slam sessions with new poems

I have my heroine one and my free read still to go. I haven't picked up my free reads for a while because I thought I best caught up first, but think I was half way. So I should have my next reviews up in the next few days if nothing comes up

Book: Down London Road by Samantha Young
Series: On Dublin Street #2
Shelf: Strong Heroines
Read: 6/24/2013
Rate: ★★★1/2
Second book in On Dublin Street series was almost as good as the first one.
I say almost, because the story of Cam and Jo was less heated and more about the girl with her issues than the heat factor in the first book. Although Joss was in no way less troubled than Jo in the second book, still the focus was more on her.
I didn't feel Cam and the relationship between the h/H as strong and he kind of left me indifferent.
Still, Samantha Young can write a little sarcasm and dry wit into her characters and I enjoyed reading the book.

Book boyfriend - free space - strong heroines - give us three in a row...

Do we still have all our members reading or have we lost someone? I can't wait for our first stamp, though.
I'm half done with my Cover Love book and my reading is slower because of vacation and traveling but I should manage a book in week easily.

Thought it was just me! But we do have the quietest group in this challenge... I always enjoy the chatting, adding to the TBR list, and getting to know my bingo buddies better. But summer is a busy time and sometimes hard to squeeze this in,
Elisha I think it might be the Mortal Instruments series... I tried to get thru that a few years ago and it turned into a chore, so I haven't read past #2. I know it's YA and very popular, but there's soooo much detail and it starts to drag. But, there is always a cliff hanger and excitement towards the end that has you craving the next book.

I don't know what it is you could be right though, i've tried reading this several times, i'm mainly only reading because of something that happened in the last book, but if it goes to slow i'll pick up something else.
I think me joining netgalley may have been what caused it, I felt pressured to read all these books that I didn't feel like reading at that time, that will teach me to get so excited and request loads of books.

Book: Heart of Obsidian by Nalini Singh
Series: Psy-Chaneling
Shelf: Free Space
Read: 6/10/2013
Rate: ★★★★1/2
Review: Another great addition to the Psy-Changeling series. This was a little bit of a slow starter for me due to the featured H/h's both being Psy. Also the violence these two had to face since childhood, the psy leaders are MESSED UP... There was no Leopard or Wolf changeling to warm up the interaction, but Sahara's broken silence helped the couple warm up and with a dual Cardinal tK the earth really does move when his control slips. Besides the romantic focus, this book was a real game changer with the revelation of "the ghost" and big changes in the Psy universe. Very exciting things to come as this series is winding down to the last few books.
