Hey everyone - made back to Illinois safe & sound...sad to be home - really miss my friend but we will see each other again in October until then I am in count down for vacation in September with my parents going to Branson MO for my Daddy's Navy (VP-26) reunion, so excited...
I gather that we are in agreement for our team name to be: SSSSSSixes? (I added an extra S since we are team 6 I thought 6 S's looked rather cute) I will hold off on sending Steph a PM on our team name for an hour or so....
Also, let me know if you need to change a book title etc...

Ok I will let Steph know our team name. Nichole I hope u r staying safe Illinois did not escape damage here. Had rain so hard & crazy wind that it blew water in our roof vents needless to say we have ceiling issues ect. I hate rain went thru a flood 5 years ago June 10th I certainly understand the pain ok is going thru there. Hope everyone stays safe.

Gin and the gang are back in the 6th installment of the Elemental Assassin series. After killing Ashland's notorious crime boss, Mab, Gin is talked in to a much needed vacation. Blue Marsh is the beach town home of her little sister, Bria. While there, Gin finds herself neck deep in the typical mess she seems to always be involved in.

Randall Dekes, a very old vampire, has decided he will stop at nothing to attain the property owned by Callie, Bria's best friend. On top of that, Gin finds out that her old lover, Donovan, is now engaged to Callie. With the help of her sister and friends, Gin faces Dekes and her past with the man who broke her heart.

As always, the author delivers a great book. The writing is solid and flows well. It was nice to see the softer side of Gin. Surprisingly, even though this is the 6th book in the series, it doesn't feel like it. I really enjoyed reading the book and look forward to the next one.

We have power again! Thanks everyone! We were safe, just without power. My sister lives in El Reno a couple of blocks away from I-40. They had some minor damage to the house and windows busted out of the cars. That was really scary, her kids were home alone. My sister and her husband were at work. All 3 parties in the path of the storm, but everyone made it home safe. It was a little too close for comfort and a very stressful night.

I started reading my book, and I'm pretty sure I will be reading for my Free Space.

6/4/13 Finished my Assassins shelf read
- 4 stars

Gin Blanco is one of my favorite assassins. She is well equipped, lethal, ruthless, and she is a fantastic cook. Yup, she cooks. Kind of takes the edge off of all that killing.

I enjoyed this installment of Jennifer Estep's Elemental Assassins series. We learn more about Sophia and Gin's past, meet a sadistic killer and his equally psychotic sister. I love how Gin doesn't work alone - she is surrounded by friends and family - each of whom brings in their own special talents.

Great book, lots of action, blood, magic, and chase scenes.

Well, that was a complete let down. Very anticlimactic. As the final book in the series, I thought there would be a better ending. Instead, it felt rushed and (for lack of a better word) simple. Bill and Eric were too easily dismissed from the picture and Sam was all of sudden "the one." It just seemed like Harris was ready to be finished and did just that with out too much thought as to whether it was good or not. I can't believe I paid $12.99 for this book. I feel completely dissatisfied. Don't waste your money.
