R7: Team #1 ~ #1 Bombshells

(And sorry about the long post...bumped into one of my sideline favorite things...really want to move to a place where I can enjoy frog choruses and fairly light-unpolluted skies, though the skies are the year-round enjoyment!)

And Regina, I have never heard of this author.

The sound of another book hitting my massive and unwieldy TBR!!

Do you read either YA or fantasy? If so Marchetta is a must read. Very complex and emotional storylines. She is amazing. These are the ones I have read and I love them all:

In Australia, she is assigned reading at the high school level.

I will definitely be looking into this author. My new favorite fantasy writer is Anne Bishop and her Black Jewels series.

She wrote the song after her younger sister (age 18) had a little too much wine punch at the shower and had a meltdown over a boy. (Isn't it always over a boy!!)
Regina, what is the age spread of your kids? You have some exciting times ahead of you!! (trying not to sound too gleeful!)

Leaning towards Enclave, but will decide after menu planning (maybe) & grocery shopping (absolutely must do...). Have absolutely no appetite nor inspiration for cooking, yikes!

Full review soon!

Great job, Judithe!! I started mine this morning. Love Cat and Bones.
Kate - I'll be looking forward to your review of City of Bones. I really liked that series.

Thoughts:
I wasn't sure what to think of this book. It's a spin-off of Armentrout's YA Lux series (of which Obsidian is the first book). But Obsession is aimed at a more adult market and focuses on the Luxen's enemies - the Arum.
I enjoyed the writing. It was fun, sexy and an interesting read. It was cool seeing the opposite side of the coin so to speak and see just how similar the Arum and Luxen are - and who their true enemies are.
The switching POVs added to the overall feel of the novel - and I enjoyed it more for that. Hunter and Serena are a good match and I liked getting to read their story.
Good value considering I picked up the kindle version for 99c on amazon last week.

@Judithe - what are bentos? I've heard of bento boxes, I assume that's what you are talking about. What do you do with them?

And Bento Boxes are lunch boxes ;)

And I didn't want to hear that I have to read the YA books first. Was it any good?

Regina - do you know what you are reading for this week's shelf? Let us know!!
Monica - hope you got some reading time this weekend. I'm excited to hear what you think of your books!

It's so easy to lose track of - you're doing a great job, Leslie :)

@Monica - completely agree! That pesky RL always gets in the way.

Have a great night/day!!

Glad you are able to steal some time at work!

And in the interest of fairness, Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy

Review:
4.5 stars I really loved this installment in the Cat and Bones story. Cat has matured and there is less angst and whining in her relationship with Bones and I really appreciated it. Also, the storyline about Don was very well done. The scenes in New Orleans and with Marie Laveau were interesting on a personal note since one of my husband's ancestor's was involved with the real Marie Laveau and the family tomb is quite close to hers in St. Louis #1. Allegedly her tomb was purchased by my husband's ancestor. This book really cemented my love for this series.

And yes, Sandra - my husband has some pretty cool ancestors! His family has been in South Louisiana since 1699. Lots of colorful stories.

Book: Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta
Review:
I loved this book. A longer review to come, but this book made me cry and cry. It made me laugh and it made me smile. Marchetta is a magician. I would read anything she writes. Anything.
