R7: Team #1 ~ #1 Bombshells

I am enjoying all 3 books. Will concentrate on the first week book more. Hopefully I will get it done this week.

Dragon's Kiss by Tielle St. Clare
Shelf 3: Strong Heroines
Date finished: 6/16/13
Rating: ★★★★☆
Thoughts:
This is a freebie I picked up some time ago, and haven't gotten around to reading. It was a fun, light read, and has more smexy peppers than stars!
Lorran, our heroine, has been studying dragons for years in this medieval/fuedal-esque world, ever since her husband was bitten by and became one. He was killed by the dragon slayer, Kei, who is also king now. In a nice turn of karma, Kei gets bitten, and his brother brings him to Lorran for care...until he succumbs and has to be killed as well. For Lorran, it's a chance to study the full transformation process, from bite to becoming the dragon, but it turns into much more than that. The randy dragon emerging has obsessed on Lorran as his mate, and he wants her, all the time. Kei is struggling to remain human, protect Lorran, and protect his kingdom from his twin that wants to take both the kingdom and the woman.
It was an interesting twist and entertaining read, but if you pick it up, be prepared for lots and lots of lust!

No worries, Judithe. I obviously wasn't thinking things through either, because as I'm doing, I was thinking, this seems a little redundant!! And I want this space for keeping track. I will fix it when I get home! Sometimes, I'm a little slow about stuff like this. I am actually quite bright usually!

@Kate, I recently finished #2 in the Mercy Thompson series and am now officially hooked. Can't wait to get to the next one!!
@Monica - glad you are enjoying your books. I'm looking forward to your reviews.
I will start looking for my book - I'm sure this will be pretty easy!

Me, too!!!

Well...if ya have a reading choice between a stack of journals & other misc. homework or a Bingo book...

I really wanted to be starting that series over!
Two books that deserve to be on the list and weren't and I wish they were

And Judithe - I definitely think you made the wisest choice!!

After looking at some of the shelf names - people come up with some crazy stuff!! I do have a lot of shelves, but they are pretty straight forward.

I'm still missing some book choices for this week's shelf. Please let me know if you've made a decision. I changed my mind because a book became available at the library. I will be reading

Going to bed to read. Have a good night all.
OH I am really enjoying Pride and Prejudice and Bourne Identity.

Speaking of which, I watched A Room with a View last night with my daughter. E.M. Forster book. So good!! Highly recommend it if you like historical movies.

I got home from NO yesterday to a monsoon and to the realization that I had left my laptop at my mom's. Ugh!! Luckily my husband has many laptops lying around and he was finally able to set one up for me.
I will be starting my book sometime tomorrow after I finish another one first.
Happy Reading everyone!! Let us know how you are doing!!

Check in and let us know how you are doing. I'd love to be able to request a stamp soon!!

I get too excited when I see a post on our thread, LOL! Just pacing indoors and waiting for the next shelf while enjoying the rain and cooler temps from a soon-to-arrive almost-typhoon (wind speeds seem to have it hovering between typhoon and tropical storm, regardless, it's wet, and that is a good thing as we've had a very dry rainy season so far!)
Hope everyone is enjoying their reads this week!

I feel the same way about posts on our threads!!

How nice for you to be off on Friday!

Happy Reading all!!

Well I got my car back from the mechanic and it only cost me about $60.00! I am thrilled. I was so nervous that it was going to cost me more then that. Now that my stress is over from that I think I can read my book with out that in the back of my mind.
Happy Reading all!

Check in and let us know how you are doing with your books. I am finishing up my book for this week. Will be done in the next hour.

Review:
This is the second book in the Dark Powers Trilogy and I liked it. The book literally starts at the end of the first book, so it took me a minute to remember what had been happening. In the beginning it seemed very juvenile to me, but as the action picked up, that got better. This one is very action packed and moves quickly. Chloe is locked up by the Edison Group and manages to escape and find Simon and Derek. Tori escapes with her and she is every bit as annoying as in the last book. Chloe's powers are increasing and she is working hard to figure them out. While they are on the run, Derek is struggling to with changing into a werewolf. The triangle between the three is also becoming more apparent. It again ends very abruptly, and it will become important to read the third book and see what happens to the teenagers. Kelley Armstrong has created an interesting, and very dark world. There are horror aspects to the story (reanimated bats come to mind- yuck) and the characters seem very real.

Check in and let us know how you are doing with your books. I am finishing up my book for this week. Will be done in the next hour."
LOLing...that shows up as 57 minutes ago, and I just posted a pic of the gorgeous moon I saw as I bicycled home after a lovely girls' night out with my besty! But, morning or evening (or later)...just a few hours away from our shelf! Hoping everyone's reading is going well!

My husband was telling me there is something special about the moon right now. Can't remember what it's called. But it's connected to the summer solstice.

Week 4:

I had a wonderful time being on a team with Vi cause we're almost in sync! LOL! Often catch one another on line, which can always be a plus! Opposite ends of our days, but it's lovely to bump into you here so often, too!
Maybe more than you want to know, but...(and go out and moon gaze this weekend!!!)
A supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon or a new moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the moon's disk as seen from Earth. The technical name is the perigee-syzygy of the Earth-Moon-Sun system. The term "supermoon" is not astronomical, but originated in modern astrology.[1] The association of the Moon with both oceanic and crustal tides has led to claims that the supermoon phenomenon may be associated with increased risk of events such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. However, the evidence of such a link is widely held to be unconvincing. [2]
The next occurrence will be on June 22, 2013. This full moon will be the closest and largest full moon of the year. It also presents the moon’s closest encounter with Earth for all of 2013. The moon will not be so close again until August 10, 2014.[3]

I Have been wanting to read all of these for awhile but none are catching my interest right now. I have read so many books on this list and other books I would think would be on the list aren't. Boo!
