message 10: by Caitlyn (new)

Caitlyn Imani (caitlynimani) | 2 comments The Host by Stephanie Meyers!! I bought the book in march right? But I have been putting it off b/c of everything that was going on in my life. So after my tenth time of knocking it to the curb, I decided to just read it in the Summer. And at the time that sounded like a great idea....But its, for me, now summer and I still don't want to read it! I dnt know if its because its long or if its because I don't want to?.. Its really cray, and the strangest thing is I have nothing else to do and I'm super bored!!! What's wrong with me??!!

message 11: by Birdie (new)

Birdie (purple_feather22) | 294 comments I put off The Host for a long time also but I was just afraid I wouldn't like it and avoided it. I know a lot of people in this group have mixed feelings about the Twilight series but I'm on the 'liked it' side of things and I had heard mix reviews about it. I like to give reviews for all the books I read and I didn't want to give Stephenie Mayer a bad review. I gave in when the movie came out because I wanted to read it before watching the movie. Turned out I was avoiding it for nothing because I really enjoyed it. It is a long book but I went though it quickly and ended up giving it a 4 of 5 stars.

I encourage you to read it, its a lot better then people give it credit for.

Trisha | 30284 comments lol I swear I said this last week??

I should be cleaning my house, running to the store to get a few items for dinner and running laundry..

instead, lol, scrolling through Goodreads and enjoying my books :) ahhhhh, I love summer!

message 13: by Caitlyn (new)

Caitlyn Imani (caitlynimani) | 2 comments Phew! Its not just me. And honestly that's how I feel. I love Stephanie Meyers work and I am maybe a little scared that I will be disappointed in her latest creations. Plus I really loved her first series and I still find myself re-reading the twilight books from time to time. So I will give this book a try. People are saying it better than the twilight series but that's so very hard to believe. I definitely have to read it before the movie. I really want to see if this book is as good as everyones saying it is.

Wish me luck! !!!

it takes about 200 pages of world building in order to get into the book. If you can get beyond those 200 pages, it will start to pick up and get more into the people/romance than the beginning!!

I hope you love it! I did!
