What are You Avoiding Right Now?
Madeleine wrote: "I'm trying to avoid a reading slump, it's harder than it seems, but I'm doing it"Ugh I hate reading slumps! You can do it. :)

Yes, it's nothing bad ^^"
Good to hear. :)"
Thank you :)
Facebook, Amazon and all the other not-so-fun elements of being an author. I just want to write and read!
researching colleges and other application stuff :(
Writing.I use to write all the time. Poetry, short stories.
After I got clean and sober I just stopped.
I feel it in the pit of my stomach, 'I need to write' but I just don't.
One day, one day!
Funny you should ask. I'm supposed to be asleep right now. It's 2:44 am. But I have an awful headache and can't sleep.
It's weird but I'm actually not distracting myself from stuff.... I actually have time for once to be on goodreads
Jingle wrote: "Getting a holiday job...I think I just signed myself up to be a retail assistant and *screams*"Don't do it!!!
I used to work at Petco and granite the company wasn't bad to work for but in retail consider these things.
1.If they are paying more employees than what they are making in sales, hours get cut. Newest employees are usually first to go home.
2.Customers are very well..unkind and will attempt to scam you. I got scammed $60.00 at Petco and thankfully my boss caught it and realized what happened.
3. If you have anxiety (I do) then I highly advice not doing it because dealing with customers, the stress of the register, etc will all add up and could trigger a panic attack. I actually had a panic attack at work one day and it wasn't pretty.
I now work in a factory making decent money on the midnight shift and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Oh dear, that's bleak O_O People can be pretty suckish. For the most part while I'm shy the most that's happened to me is one panic attack in my lifetime. It's the having to approach people that's scary to me (^^)" But thank you for your insight!! I'm taking your advice and applying to work at a less hectic vegetarian restaurant...hopefully staying behind the scenes most of the time. I'm glad your current job is working out!
Jingle wrote: "Getting a holiday job...I think I just signed myself up to be a retail assistant and *screams*"Good luck, Jingle! Honestly, you have "bad customers" wherever ou go and whatever you do. I'm a teacher and I have "bad customers' better known as some obnoxious kids. LOL
I personally loved ringing up the register. It's been a lot of years, but I worked in a shoe store, toy store are (in a pharmacy), a sandwich store ringing up the orders, AND in a hospital and, yes, we even had "bad customers" there known as patients AND some nurses who liked to lord it over you. So all jobs have their perks and cons. Be the best you can be at whatever you do and the rest will fall into place. That's how I see it. Nothing is perfect.
GOOD LUCK!
I'm not really avoiding anything, but I am trying to read while my husband is watching TV and that's so difficult for me. He doesn't go to work until 2:45 so my morning reading when I'm on break (I teach high school) is often spent trying to catch up on my posts on GR since it's often difficult to concentrate reading.

I need to start my novel! I don't even know what I want to write about but, I want to write a full book. Just need inspiration
I'm avoiding cleaning out my room and getting ready for moving in with a buddy of mine. I'm super excited about the roommate arrangement just not doing the actual work lol
yeah i'm avoiding studying for exams which is kinda bad but I can't seem to gather the motivation to work....
I am avoiding reading and preparing my self for my course lecture tomorrow. I don't know how I got into this crazy book slump... It's a struggle to get out of it.
I think I have insomnia, so I'm avoiding everything that includes energy. :/ But I did read two books today, because I don't have to leave the couch to do that.
I'm avoiding finishing a book related project...so I can read another book.
I'm avoiding so much right now. Mostly going to the gym because I hate it. I'd rather go rock climbing or go on a hike. Fewer people that I have to see when I do those things...
I'm avoiding going to bed. LOL I HATE going to bed because I always feel likes there's so much I'm missing out on like reading more. LOL But then I'm so tired I fall asleep on the couch all the time.

This year I've given up all social media except GR. I need that to keep on track for books and bookish news. I guess you could say I'm avoiding all social anxiety I get, which peaks a lot of the time online. I'm loving it-- I have way more time to read and have more bookish centred hobbies :D
