Books don't show up on search

It's been about two days since I created a few books that weren't one here from before, and they're still not searchable - neither by searching on the title nor when I search on the author. They are however viewable from clicking on "more books from.." on the author profile.

Due to this, it's not even possible to add the books to the series they belong to (which is annoying me to death).

The books in question can be found from here and are "Chihayafuru" volumes 15 to 21.

This has never happened before and I don't know what's wrong..

Also, can't find it when I try to look it up. Can only find it by going to author's page. Isbn# 978-0465010196

I have fixed the title.

At the moment you can't find it because unfortunately there are problems with the search engine, but they should be fixed soon (you can find it only if you search by ISBN)

It's not only with recent added books.
A friend asked me to add Beautiful Broken Rules
by Kimberly Lauren and before I started to add I searched for "Beautiful Broken Rules Kimberly Lauren", "Beautiful Broken Rules" and "Kimberly Lauren" and non of those 3 came up with the book.
So I start adding the kindle edition and when I save it tells me the asin already exists. I put the asin in the search box and yes, the book was added April 4.

But the author or book don't appear in the search. Now I know before adding the book I'll search the asin or isbn as well.

There was an issue with the search index, the issue has been fixed but the index will need to be rebuilt which will take some time.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have also just run up against this problem. I was looking for the book "Die Töchter der Kälte" by Camilla Läckberg (German version), and searched for the full title, for "Töchter der Kälte" and under the author's name. Searching for the title gives me the Swedish original "Stenhuggaren", but nothing else. No German version appears under author's name either.

So, I went ahead and created a new entry, and was flummoxed to be told that this entry exists, according to the ISBN. Yes, it does - but the comments are all from English speakers, so I'm not sure what the story is on that. And no, it's not searchable apart from by use of the ISBN.

I then checked "Currently reading" on the German version, and see that I am now also shown as currently reading the Swedish version.



Can anyone shed some light?

Frollein, the edition which shows in search results is the default edition, which is usually the most popular one. In this case, that would be one of the Swedish editions of this book. Because it's all the same book, all 74 editions are combined together; if you've shelved one, you'll see that shelving showing anywhere that the book is shown as a whole, and if you review one, someone looking at any edition of this book will see the review. However, you have in fact shelved a German edition of this book, which shows on your own bookshelves and on the list of all editions of this book.

Thanks Cait, now that you've explained it, I'm suddenly seeing the "all editions" which totally went over my head until now. Am sorting my books now.

However, I still find it strange (but then I'm not a techie) that a direct search won't turn up the title I'm looking for. Main thing is though, that I now understand how that works and can be worked around. Thanks again!

I'm not sure this is the right place to post but I need help updating the description of a book already listed here -- I'm so glad that someone did add it, apparently weeks ago. Hi, just wanted to make someone aware that the book Do or Die by Suzanne Brockmann is not showing up in search results. I've tried searching by title and author, both separately and together, and the book is nowhere in the results. The only way to find the book is by searching for specific ISBN/ASIN numbers or going to the author's page and searching her list of publications.
