Possible mini-convention/group get together.
How I would have loved to - but I'm away on a Natural History Society weekend. I'm sure you'll get a good few interested Simon. Someone eat my share of the buffet, please!
I had to look up where Biggleswade is and it doesn't look like too much of a drive.I'd be happy to give a talk from an author's perspective if you wanted.
Currently serving Hopback Taiphoon at the bar :http://www.hopback.co.uk/beer-shop/ta...
I only tasted it to make sure it was up to standard you understand
Oh do please come Jud! And you can cancel the history society Ignite!
Yay! We've got our first author!

Give them your puppy dog eyes Andy. :)
I've got the room from 4pm to 7pm so it is really more of an early evening/late afternoon thing.I need to attract around 30 people to make this viable I think.....
Still looking for event ideas or we will all just have to stand at the bar.....

Didn't say what I was going to do with it, did I??
That bar might fall over if there is no one to hold it up Simon! You of all people should know that is an important job so don't knock it.
Yay Tim and Darren!Event idea...we can have really serious and highbrow conversations about literature as we do in Skype.

You took the words right out of my mouth Rosemary, exactly what I was thinking as I read this.
Cannot tell you how much I really wanna come. I will have to be a maybe for now as it is my Dads 60th (plus anniversary of my Aunts Death). We are going up to London for brunch at some restaurant on the 40 something floor of somewhere (can you tell I actually have no clue where???) but not sure what, if anything, is planned for the rest of the day (he doesn't want to celebrate it, and hasn't wanted to celebrate his birthday at all since his sisters death on that day!)
I reckon I may be able to swing it but can't confirm anything yet, sorry!

Oi! Put your glasses on Sarah :o)
Said that without opening my mouth!Sadly I really can't make this either :( but I'm sure it'll be great. Totally up for another one further north though

I have been offered a meeting room at The Stratton House Hotel in Biggleswade on the afternoon of Saturday 22nd June.
I need to confirm if I want it by this Friday.
So, I was wondering who would be interested in a little Goodreads meeting and suggestions about what we could do.
I was thinking of getting a volunteer from a couple of authors to talk about their work and the challenge of promoting themselves in the Kindle world.
I would ramble on about the future of ebooks and I might be able to get a traditional publisher to come along and tell us how eBooks are affecting them.
So, any suggestions, would you be likely to come along and volunteers please!
I will make a decision whether to confirm the booking on Friday
Oh, also, would you want tea and biscuits or a buffet? I have had a meeting buffet there - very nice indeed!
