M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Couldn't we do a lunch time start then...?

It was just the word "convention" that made me think it was a day time do. All the conventions I've ever been to yes I'm talking about Panopticon and other really embarrassing stuff, kick off at around 10 am and go through to about 4. Then everyone goes down the pub.

I'd kind of assumed that this one would start later, say 12.00 but it seems to be completely the other way up.

I'm an old bag with a 4 year old and no family within 100 miles, I'll have to leave before 7 pm or I'll fall asleep at the wheel.

Cheers

MTM

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments I could change it to 12 but will the other half complain?

message 153: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments I don't know... everyone... will you complain if Simon changes the time to 12 for me and Darren?

Cheers

MTM

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I wont complain, but as Kath is giving me a lift it would depend on her, and also on what time I get to Milton keynes. As i am getting a lift to the station and I don't know train times that is a bit unknown at the moment.

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments What about 2 in the afternoon?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments How about sa ymeet up and chat from 12 on and formal events at 2 or something like that. Cos that will allow for people who need to be early, and people who can only make it later.

message 157: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Now that sounds like a plan. ;-)

Let's see what Simon and everyone else reckon.

Cheers

Shaun (shaunjeffrey) | 2467 comments Well it's looking like I might turn up to ruin the party (quite a way though!). If I do, would anyone be interested in a paperback copy of The Kult, Killers or Deadfall as I have a couple left? £6 a copy, and a discount for buying more than one :) Just need to know whether it would be worth bringing them along.

message 166: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Shaun!!!!

Yay!!!!!

I'll draw the lippy on you so you can kiss my copies!!!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I see potential for lots of author signing sessions!

Darren, you bring the books, I'll provide the lipstick!

message 171: by Emma (new)

Emma (emzibah) | 4125 comments Shaun, I would definitely like one of each to add to my good reads shelf on my actual bookcase!! And if I don't make the meet up then I am sure Simon will look after them for me till I see him next as I do plan to go to Biggleswade again soon (isn't he a lucky duck lol!!)

message 172: by Shaun (new)

Shaun (shaunjeffrey) | 2467 comments Patti, don't you want me to use my own lippy? Ignite, people usually ask me to kiss something else. Thanks, Emma. Hope to see you there!

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments I never leave home without some copies of my books in the boot of my car. Should I leave them there or shall I take them out and bring the snurd fridge magnets instead?

Cheers

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Sounds like we might have author snogging sessions!!!

message 178: by M.T. (new)

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments Can someone give me directions? How far is Biggleswade from Victoria Station, and is it accessible by public transports?

message 182: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8049 comments Lorraine wrote: "Can someone give me directions? How far is Biggleswade from Victoria Station, and is it accessible by public transports?"

If you can get to Huntingdon - viccy line up to Kings X and then out. I can pick you up from the station. It's about half an hour to Biggleswade from there down the A1.

I'd be going for the early shift - if it starts at 12.00 I'll be aiming to get there then so I'd want to pick you up from Huntindon Station at about 11.30 and I'll be heading back at about half five six ish so I get home to say goodnight to my boy at 7.00 ish.

Is that any good?

Cheers

MTM

It's about a hundred miles closer than me!

message 184: by Beverley (new)

Beverley Carter | 186 comments Been a bit busy and have just seen this, please count me in!

For info, Biggleswade is on the main line out of King 's Cross, about 40 minutes. The train station is in the town centre and the hotel is about 5 mins walk from there. Hope this helps!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Yay Beverly!

message 186: by Darren (new)

Darren Humphries (darrenhf) | 6903 comments I'm sorry, I have no books in my possession for signing purposes and I doubt Lulu.com could get them printed and to me in time. I will see if I can sort out something appropriate if people want that.

Simon I am willing to participate in any planned activities for the time that I am there, but I will be needing to get away by sixish.

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) | 8438 comments Thanks for the help with the directions, especially MTM. I'd be arriving from Taunton by coach, and I'm not sure I could make it for 11 am. Got to make sure that I'm back for my work shift too (or that I get granted time off). Will keep you posted :)

If there's nothing obvious you could try an 010 to Cambridge and I can pick you up from the Trumpington Park and Ride but I would want to go earlier rather than later though as I have to get back earlier. BUT... if your service stops at Heathrow there might be someone else coming by car who could come in that way and pick you up from the coach station there.

I have postcards, little mini cards, a couple of mugs with snurds on, fridge magnets with the cover and pictures of snurds on oh... and the actual books. I am prepared to sign anything but I'd have to sell the books and the mugs... and probably the Fridge magnets ;-)

Cheers
