Ok everybody. I read this one, and thought it was great. I'll wait for others to post before I start getting specific with my comments.
Ok. Unless I absolutely had to, I don't think I could get on one of this little planes. Not without some anxiety medication first or something, LOL!

That's great Connie! I'm glad you're excited and can't wait for you to be able to discuss Stranded. I haven't read Beautiful Disaster yet, but I hope to. Don't forget, you can always start a Buddy Read thread, or just a regular thread if you'd like- some books are so good that you just have to talk about them!

Michelle, I was thinking the exact same thing. Those smaller planes seem dangerous!

I just love Pepper' s books!

Yes!

I kept thinking of that Tom Hanks movie. Of course I can't think of the name now for the life of me. The whole (view spoiler)

No worries. If you'd ever like to do one, just ask one of us, and we'll walk you through it.

I really enjoyed this book. I didn't expect the heavy subject matter but it added to the overall story and the connection b/w the H and h, IMO.
As far as Marshall, he was a sweetheart. I understood why he was upset with Oceans during the second half of the book, but I also understood Oceans' point of view. I'll wait until more people have finished to post more of my thoughts - I don't want to spoil the story.

I thought the subject matter got a little heavy too! About a 1/3 into the story, I was like "whoa!"

I was so mad with Oceans though. I just stopped reading and walked away for 10 minutes before coming back to read. LOL Although I did understand her point of view.

Oceans irked me at times too, LOL! Talk about a messed up situation, on how she came to be on that plane! Here they were stranded. The first thing I would've been worried about would've been wild animals, mother nature, and no books and candy, LOL!

I completely agree with your comment about their connection!
I think because of their situation, their connection started out a little forced- as if they'd never speak to each other, or roll in the circles in other situations. But we knew "it" was bound to happen.

After a while I wanted to hurt Marshall myself, but I see that 72 day walk did his butt some good. A good long walk will do the mind some good, and Marshall came back in a better head space. I think my favorite part came in the end, when they were rescued, but continued on un-fazed as if they needed to clean up before they left...smile. I enjoyed that the relationship was based on friendship first and not the dog in heat method that so many relationships seem to be based on.
The characters earned each other's love, and that was refreshing for me. A man earning a woman….wow… now how old school is that (it should be the norm).

My favorite part was towards the end as well. The intimacy of them sleeping together....it was beautiful.
I enjoyed the relationship too and that is something I appreciate about Pepper Pace's novels. The Hero and Heroine have some form of friendship before they get intimate. In most cases it is hard to find that in IR novels.

That part was sooo sweet, I got a kick out of the old couples reaction to the sight as well.

I liked that Marshall was a mix of both. He knew certain things but other things he had to work hard at. Like getting a fire going and catching fish took him the entire night to figure out. He learned to build and make small stuff then gradually went on to bigger things. Even his journey around the the Island was a lesson learned for him. He matured a lot over time and learned how to survive on the island through experience and Oceans. Oceans just knew all there was to know. It actually annoyed me, she was like super woman....lol all that was left for her to do was fly.
I honestly didn't start liking her until Marshall came to the end of his journey.

I agree with you, Ren. I loved the scene where the older couple discovered them sleeping with their baby girl ;-)

The pregnancy through me for a loop, the book described a scene so graphic and gory that one could only believe that the pregnancy was ended. I was left wondering what actually did happen in the forest.
Did you happen to catch what inspired Marshall to name the baby Skye?

I thinks he name the baby skye because on a Caribbean island apart from the sea what do you mostly see? The sky lol. My opinion.

I am glad he realized that he was crazy in love with her before he found her and found out that she was still pregnant. If not I would have just thought he was just in love with the idea of having a baby.

Very good point. I would have too.

That definitely took some getting used to for me too.

I was thinking about mold and stuff too, LOL! But Marshall did make a good point about not being alone if someone would've thought to free the slaves from the lower deck. That was just sad.

I read this early this morning. I liked it a lot. The survival aspects were very realistic. I liked that they were friends first and fell in love over time. The dilemma they faced was very painful to read. I'm glad it worked out in the end.
"Oceans Delano and Marshall Cohen could not be any different. She is a shy Jamaican born woman returning to the states after her father's death. Marshall Cohen is a privileged young business man traveling out of the country to engage in 'sketchy' business dealings for his boss. When their small plane crashes, the two lone survivors are forced to depend on each other and in the process they learn to face their fears and to accept their differences. Oceans and Marshall embark on a journey of courage, love, passion and sometimes hate."
"This multicultural romance is intended for mature audiences due to graphic descriptions and frank language."
