It is! I finished it last night, and I can't wait to start the second book. Lev's character development is amazing.

I saw this movie when it first came out, and I'm not sure how I would feel about it if I saw it today for the first time, but back then I thought it was really entertaining-- and a little funny at bits, even while it was dark at others. The cast is definitely talented.

In terms of truthfulness to the story, I would say it's more of a 1408 adaptation than a Green Mile one, if that helps you decide if you want to watch it :)

Thanks, Nicole. I bought it during some DVD sale somewhere so I think I'd better give it a look.

It's tempting to read all the Crichton books I have at once but I like to spread his books out since I don't come across them to purchase that often.

Great, great book... read it years before I ever got into Stephen King. Only read the first in the series, though. It'll be interesting to know if you want to keep reading after you finish the first book.

Andrew✌️ (andrew619) | 335 comments Finished Career of Evil, third book of thes series. This is the darkest of the three, focused about a serial killer, but also around the stories of various characters, often wth an aboscure past of violence.
Now I'm reading Preacher, Volume 6: War in the Sun and even if I rad only a little part, it looks another nice book.

Sorry to hear that Bag of Bones doesn't work for some of you. I thought it was great and the audiobook read by Stephen King works especially well. It is pretty slow getting started, I'll admit, raising the question how do you write about being bored without boring your readers. Anyway, once it gets going it picks up speed. There's some of King's best horror in the book and I thought the characters were really well developed. If I were you, Brandon, I'd try the audiobook. It ends up being a great story.
