What Are You Reading Now? Pt 2.
Malina I am almost finished with The Ocean at the End of the Lane, it is really good! Beautifully written and not at all what I expected! Let me know what you think of it! :)

I've got a review of it up there somewhere, said a lot of nice things about the audio version and the book itself. I loved it.

Yes, there is a strong relationship between them. But this is a novel with a combination of many elements: there are intrigues, policy, cultural difference and mistrust between the parts. All on a mysterious world like Arrakis. Read this reminded me the movie of the '80 and the PC games by Virgin Interactive of early '90 (great adventure!).

I read this books months ago and I found it a very nostalgic story, sad but also wonderful. The type of book of Gaiman I prefer, more for adults, rather than Neverwhere or Coraline. If you have read other of his books, you'll appreciate this.
Nick I bet the audio was great! Sorry I can't reply directly, I'm on my phone and it won't let me for some reason!

Gaiman reading Ocean was absolutely sublime. If you have a chance it's so worth listening to even if you've already read it.
Kandice I will definitely have to check it out, I'm a reread we anyways and this is one I definitely wouldn't mind taking in again!

I know; the whole thing is great, and the terrific Robbins humor is still there. Love that.

NOS, what a great book! If you love King you'll love Hill :)

Don't read it alone... with the lights out. I was reading Fierce Invalids last night at midnight with only the light from my iPad glowing. Glad it was Tom Robbins and not Mr. King.

I loved the Series in spite of the romance. It was such fun to read!

That was the first book that I read that introduced me to horror fiction and Stephen King as a kid. It changed my life and I'd still one of my favorites today after repeated readings. I hope you enjoy it too!

I actually liked it a lot more than I thought I would. The story was good with likable characters. It reminded..."
I think the romance is less...syrupy, for lack of a better word in the rest of the installments. There, but more in the background. I think she just needed to get them hitched in that first one. ;D

I loved this book too! Just finished Silence of the Lambs and looking forward to reading the other 2 next year.

I actually prefer this book to Silence.

Right now I think I might start The Eyes of the Dragon, you all know the author, and The Revolution Was Televised: The Cops, Crooks, Slingers and Slayers Who Changed TV Drama Forever by Alan Sepinwall

Good to hear that. I read 1st book some time ago, and hope to get to #2 soon.

Just started Anansi Boys.

Just started Anansi Boys."
I really enjoyed all of Gillian Flynns novels.
Anansi Boys is great, hope you enjoy it, Gaiman never disappoints, have you read American Gods?

Glad you are enjoying Fierce Invalids....Look forward to reading Avenging Adelita in the new year! I am still reading Gravity's Rainbow, Fool on the Hill by Matt Ruff which is tremendous fun, Skinny Legs and All by Robbins and rereading Chronic City by Lethem.

I left out a key word there... FREE autographed copy.

Thanks Malina; writing is addictive... and it's a good think that it is.

I have that one on my TBR pile. I'm curious to see what you think of it

You should read it, Ken. It's pretty good and something different. I think it was written in the 80s.

I read Dune a million years ago, but I still remember thinking that it was the best positive portrayals of a mother-son relationship I'd ever read.
