What Are You Reading Now? Pt 2.
I am leaning towards reading Fool on the Hill, Farenheit 451, and Bag of Bones....with the Four Fingers of Death and Sirens of Titan to follow.
Just finished "Revival" last night. I really liked it. Very original and captivating story. Not incredibly scary, but there were a few creepy parts to it. Now I'm reading "The Martian" by Andy Weir.
I'm reading Looking for Alaska and Ruby Red. I'm really loving Ruby but Alaska is a bore for me. I just finished Doctor Sleep which is amazing if you like The Shining. I highly recommend it.

I don't think it is my favorite book by any stretch, but Gravity's Rainbow is tremendously brilliant. After the very difficult Part One, the action picks up in Part Two....Pynchon is a genius.
I've finished Suckers: A Horror Novel, a good horror story and now I'm reading Dune, my first time with this series. I hope to read all books as soon as possible.

For every sentence I read I would have to go back and reread 2. Once I got use to the way it was written it got easier but, I don't think the 'story' was worth the effort. KWIM?
Yeah I do. Pynchon seemed to write part one of GR as a challenge. V was much the same way. Inherent Vice was much easier and also damn funny.
Andrew wrote: "I've finished Suckers: A Horror Novel, a good horror story and now I'm reading Dune, my first time with this series. I hope to read all books as soon as possible."Dune is one of my all time favorites. I'm not sure how many times I've read it, but a lot. I hope you like it.
Finished the Gunslinger and I'm moving on to The Drawing of the Three. @Ioanna did you finish it? Also I told you that the man in black was the same bad guy as the character in The Stand, but then I found out otherwise. Sorry for the misinformation.
I am currently reading Sleep doctor and Black house by SK. I am also actively reading the Divergent series. In reguards to Black house. I am struggling because I have issues with children being hurt or killed but I know that this is just a story. Thank God. The story is troubling to me but I have enjoyed it so far.

Not my favorite S.King ever, but I'm very curious about how things will develop from here. There are a lot of similarities between The Gunslinger and The Stand, although I realize The Stand is not part of this series. Will start #2 in a couple of days, I'll do the audiobook this time.

Many books and character intersect with this series, also the man in black. I hope you like it.
Just finished Annihilation (Loved it...although the reviews are polarized - I would highly suggest it), and just started The Eyes of the Dragon!

That's why I try to rate everything I've read. Then if I can't figure out if I've read something, if I rated it then I know I did. I have this problem with movies. I'll watch one, go on Netflix to rate it, and see that I have already watched it and rated it before. My memory isn't what it once was!

Finished Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, and I've written 3 different reviews from 3 different points of view. When all is said and done, brilliant as the writing was, parts of it did bother me. I'll try to sort it all out this evening. In the mean time, I'm into the audio of Gone Girl, staring at a copy of The Great God Pan, which King says influenced Revival, and has bothered him him for most of his life. Not sure when I'll dare to start that one. Also now judging scripts again for the Cinequest film festival.
Nick I'm looking forward to reading you're thoughts on Cowgirls. I read it some time in the '80s when I was reading a wide variety of genres and styles and authors. Probably at that time I thought it was funny, fun to read, maybe thought provoking. Don't know if I would feel the same about it now.

I'm still ruminating on it. I'd definitely like to read more of his works.

Brian wrote: "Soulless by Gail Carriger. Vampires, werewolves, steampunk, mystery. Enjoying it so far."I loved this entire series! I just started another series by her. She has a very unique style. Very fun.

I liked it, and it was my first Robbins book. It definitely made me want to read more of his stuff! It's one of my least favourite though. I recommend Jitterbug Perfume and Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates. Those are his best IMHO.

I'll get a copy and read it as soon as I can. as for Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, I'm putting my review up tonight, giving it 4 stars. Brilliant writing and narrative style, wacko, confused characters, rather thin plot, way way too much philosophy, but SO DAMN FUNNY. As Robbins himself says in cowgirls, "Maybe the human animal has contributed really nothing to the universe but kissing and comedy - but by God that's plenty." Amen.
Kathryn my memory is dreadful but I think I've read the blurb too many times and that was making me think I may have read the book already lol
Malina wrote: "Just started You
, the main character is giving me the creeps!""The creeps" isn't the half of this creepy, obsessed stalker. I never read a book about a stalker and thought that I'd try out YOU.... OMG, big mistake! This guy and ALL that he does to get close to this particular woman freaked me out, big-time !! Let me know how it goes for you.

Sabina wrote: "Hi all! I'm reading again A Christmas Carol and a few other Christmas tales by Charles Dickens."The thing I liked about reading the book rather than watching all those movies, is there are parts in the book that are so visually exciting that it was probably impossible to do them before CGI. The Jim Carey semi-animated version does include them, which is nice. But who knew Dickens had that kind of vision.

Jessica wrote: "The Ocean at the End of the Lane"Love, love, loved this book! Especially when read by Gaiman himself, but any way you get it, this is a good tale.
