I just finished Dead Until Dark and really liked it. Now, I am reading Tess of the D'Urbervilles and a memoir called Happens Every Day. I like both so far.

Just started Suffer the Children...my introduction to John Saul. Surprisingly mild dialog..for horror anyway.
Wow--Suffer the Children. That takes me back to high school and one of the books that started me down horror fandom.Just finished Hero by Perry Moore. A different take on the superhero genre that is extremely well done.
Starting Owen Kings' Double Feature next.
Lynn, please tell me Suffer the Children is worthwhile and memorable. So far I find the prose and dialog to read like a book from a middle school reading list. Then again Im coming straight from authors like King, Lee, Straub and Laymon.

What my young self thought of the book was enough to lead me to more horror books. What my adult self would think of the book... lacking any real style. I did leave John Saul behind long ago and have thought about trying some of his later works to see how they fare.
I am guessing you are familiar with Cemetery Dance Publications? The publish all the authors you just listed, among others.
After completing the gigantic & draining IT, I wanted a lighter read. Here is my review http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/....So I started off with The Winner
by David Baldacci.

When I first started reading this book I thought it was going to be quite complicated but after about 70 pages I settled right into it and loved it as much as the rest of the Lincoln Rhyme series.

One Rainy Night's awesome, but the explanation at the end wasn't so good. If you ignore that and just concentrate on the action it's one of his best

"Creepy as f*ck. But really good. Bundy suddenly became 3 dimensional and lost some of that 'genius' people usually talk about in reference to him and his crimes.
He was also a compulsive nose picker.

try "Resurrection Dreams" and "Night in lonesome October" they are really good too- I loved body rides
I started Rage! It seems awesome, and it's shorter than his other books, which is good since I still haven't recovered from the last long book I read.

Rage is my favorite King short story. It's ahead of it's time, Costas.

I'm re-reading The Shining. I run a book club on Facebook and August is Books-Into-Films Month and I'm writing a review of the book and film and how they compare.
I'm afraid the movie just....sucks balls...hardcore.
Reading: 11/22/63 page 247 out of 849. Have to read it on my days off though...I do 10 hour shifts, and the book is too interesting to read during the days I have to work.
I normally only read one book at a time, however, due to my ebooks arriving through the library, I'm currently reading a few. :S Under the Dome
and The Good Nurse
