Andrew✌️ (andrew619) | 335 comments I finished Venezia Metal: it's a good horror novel, set in a not so far future and an intriguing plot.
Today I started Astrophysics for People in a Hurry. It's time to some good science!

Honestly, so far I'm finding it considerably weaker than most of the other nonfiction books I've read on the subject....

I read some of her earlier books and they were sort of middle of the road for me. This one I thoroughly enjoyed.

I've not read any of the Odd series. By the Light of the Moon is actually only the second Dean Koontz book I'll have read!

I started reading the Odd Thomas books back in 2018...and I don't know why it took me so long to return to it. I'm currently reading Odd Apocalypse.

It's much better than Odd Hours, the one before it. That didn't even read like part of the same series. :-( Still, I'm going to keep going and finish it this year at last.

I never got around to reading the other books in the Odd series because I was scared the writer would mess up the magic of the first one. Dean Koontz's other stuff felt kinda average, you know, even though they had cool ideas. But there was something unique about the first Odd that just made it a blast to read.

Oh, and did you know they made a movie out of the first book? It was pretty darn good! Such a shame the main actor passed away, because that means no sequels. But who knows, maybe they'll give it a fresh start someday, like as a Netflix series. That'd be awesome.

message 9689: by Wise Cat (new)

Wise Cat (wisecat) Elder this Odd book I’m reading now is one I avoid reading at night lol. It’s a page turner.

Only other book I read by Koontz is One Door Away from Heaven, something like that. There might be more but all I can think of off the top of my head. I do want to read more by him definitely. 😀

Yeah I saw the movie and not too bad. The actress playing Stormy was wrong I thought. But Anton was good as Odd.

I couldn't get into it but as soon as I started the Roy Grace book I identified with the characters immediately even after not reading the series for such a long time. I love these books.

Maybe this was just a not so good book for me. I made it to 24 although thinking about it the series started to go downhill around book 20..!! ;)
