This is one of my favorite books.
I just started The Hangman’s Daughter by Oliver Potzsch. It’s a historical novel set in 17th century Bavaria. I’m enjoying it, so far.

I can see why, it’s a really good book.
Just finished THE DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY, a true crime bestseller and Edgar Award winner. I highly recommend it. Here's my review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I remember reading the book and seeing the movie when I was a kid. Very moving.
Same here.... I saw the movie a long time ago and I was not only impressed but had a sense of amazement. The book is his narrative through the time there. So far follows the movie with a greater feel of what was happening.
Just finished reading The Walking Dead, Vol. 30: New World Order. No zombie battles, but new folks and new attitudes.
I'm reading After Worlds Collide, the sequel to When Worlds Collide. I'm finding it a bit of a drag, trying to find the motivation to read is difficult.

Not sure it would hold up at all by today's standards, but at the time it was spectacular. I'd spend part of the evening through that summer looking up at the nighttime sky making sure that the moon was where it was supposed to be and not getting any closer.
Angeles wrote: "I’m about to finish Moby Dick by Herman Melville 🥳"I read it three times. The third time I just read the story. I skip over the whale and shipping chapters.
Right now I am reading Dead Souls by Nikolai Gogol. This should end my current classic lit kick and I will start back with some modern novels and hopefully get to some King soon.

How do you get the book cover to show up?

You change it from a text link to a cover link at the bottom of the “add book/author” pop-up.
Nancy, I don’t see anything like that. Just a New Comment text box with links to Cancel or Post. I’m on iOS.
Tim wrote: "Nancy, I don’t see anything like that. Just a New Comment text box with links to Cancel or Post. I’m on iOS."It doesn’t work in the app (the feature isn’t there. Only on the website. But there is a workaround. This only works most of the for books that are popular and not obscure titles. If there is a book title that is used a lot only the top rated book works. You need to use html.
[bookcover: “The Night Window”] for book cover link - omit both “
For just the text link only type book instead of bookcover.
The Night Window

Yeah, it's kind of a novel with its own built-in reference material.
I finished The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, a good mystery, with some fantasy elements, but in the end a mistery.Yesterday I started The Goblin Emperor. I read only few chapters, but I found a such abundance of names that gives me an headache. Good story, but so far few action.
Kathryn, I have read four or five chapters. So far, it is a kind of dry police procedural. But there have been some hints that it may build up to an interesting ending. I’m sticking with it.
Just started Death Masks (book 5 of The Dresden Files) by Jim Butcher. I already have two other books going but I just found it at Dollar General for $3 and could not pass it up.
