Yes Linda I am reading Carrie and Sleeping beauties and Wizards and Glass. How are you doing tonight Linda.
I’m just now reading The Troop by Nick Cutter, it was on hold forever. I just started it Saturday and am 70% through. It definitely keeps you reading!
Gaby wrote: "I'm reading Carrie and on writing by stephen king ♡"On Writing is a great book, I think. An autobiography as well as some lessons on how to write a novel.
I really loved On Writing! I’m semi-obsessed with memoirs and this is the closest we’ve ever gotten to one by the King. I also found his writing advice really interesting- the road to hell is paved with adverbs :)

Needed a break from gritty crime so read Crimson Shore, number #15 in Pendergrast series. Fun read ruined by a cliffhanger ending. Rating - 3/5My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Also Read Woman in the Dark by Dashiell Hammett. One of Hammet's forgotten shorter works and forgotten for good reason. It felt like a disjointed first draft. Rating - 2/5.
Now I am reading Extracted by RR Haywood. Really love his work even though he is a fairly new author. Read his Undead series and became hooked.
Just got done reading theseThe Rules of Magic by Alice Hoffman Okay of a book but not one of her best

Now starting #5 in the YA dystopian series "Gone" by Michael Grant. It's called "Fear".Also still working on "Zoo" by James Patterson. I like it better than the TV series they made "based on" it.

I thought Zoo was pretty good and I agree with you about the TV show.
I am trying very hard to read and translate Twilight from Japanese to English to improve my japanese beginner level skills.
Michele wrote: "I am trying very hard to read and translate Twilight from Japanese to English to improve my japanese beginner level skills."I know hard translations are! I remember trying to translate something from French to English in school. Sometimes things get "lost" in translation since there's no equivalent English word!

True! And I actually think it was expressed much more deeply in Japanese !
Michele wrote: True! And I actually think it was expressed much more deeply in Japanese ! "I find that odd, since the Japanese are not known to embrace emotions or expressing them...esp. deeply. It's a cultural thing. Being too open with feelings or opinions is generally taboo...(In other Asian countries too, like China. So not just Japan)
Not saying everyone is like that of course..Just in general. :-)
Just finished "I CAN'T MAKE THIS UP" by Kevin Hart. Not a novel, just an autobiography with added life lessons. No real horror except the way his dad treated him when he was a kid. But Hart is a comic, so as terrifying as it was, it's still funny. Here's my review.https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
