Why I don't like this book

1-It is too copied off Jane Austen’s books. I hate that. Although JA also sucks...
2-The actors at the movies SUCK. Why can’t people get that when th..."
JANE AUSTEN ROCKS!!!!!

Yeah that's definitely not healthy... She should see someone about that
But that's what she's trying to do already, to see Edward...

yes! that would totally freak me out!!

lolol...he'd b taking jacobs job

I think it was the opposite! He wanted to sit there gazing at her and not touch. She wanted to tear his clothes off.
Has anyone else seen Vampires Suck? where they make fun of this movie? some of the comments on here remind me of that movie.

I couldnt even watch Vampires suck, it bothered me too much that they were making fun of it lol.
and yes ur right she wanted him..bad lol

i absolutely agree...i will admit i loved it at the moment but then i realized just how idiotic it was.

Well put. The books are very absorbing. Stephanie Meyer may not win any critic's awards for writing, but she can tell a story, that's for sure.

O, good Lord, thank you. Can. Not. Handle how bad this was. Disturbing and ridiculous with not a single character with anything approaching either depth or common sense. It just was frightening to me that anyone could look at this creepy, possessive mutual obsession and see any kind of admirable romance.
I am sorry. I genuinely do not want to offend anyone. But, please girls, if you wake up and someone has broken into your bedroom to watch you sleep SINCE FIRST MEETING YOU, that is not adorable, sweet, or protective. That is someone who desperately needs a restraining order.
P.S. Stephanie Meyer, having your main character read classic literature does not make her suddenly a "deep" or "thoughtful" character. It makes her another high school student.
Please give your characters real personalities. Desperation is not a personality trait. It's just sad.

It is indeed weird. But I think the fans out there, the Twilighter and Twihard disagree with lots of us.

I agree with absouletely everything you said. If i woke up to find someone watching me in my from, regardless to whether i loved them or not, i would still find it really creepy.
God, Bella has no personality, reading classics doesn't mean anything. Her character is the dullest person I have every had to read about.

Actually it's made quite clear that Edward is a more moral person than Bella, so yeah, if, then the other way around.
Edward had as it was already a mortal fear (that would be immortal in his case I guess, tee-hee) of being condemned in the after life for being a vamp, not likely that he would feel up to commit another sin.

She wanted sex but didn't want to consider the implications for neither her, nor Edward, nor anybody else, that makes her less moral.
Though, I also agree that she's just a teenager, which comes down to the same. :)

That is not what i meant. She should see a psychiatrist (excuse my spelling)

is it worth seeing?

is it worth seeing?"
I heard it is really really really REALLY dirty

I'VE READ IT. And I thought it sucked.

AWW. What about my epic list?

If you were deeply in love with someone and then they just randomly up and left your life, I think you'd be depressed. At least for a little while.......

Yeah so, really really gross

Did I miss something? Edward did the opposite. He never, ever acts like he wants a strong, independent or confident woman. Ever.

Lena wrote: "Maria wrote: "I begin to think that Meyers did that to oppose a strong female lead and focus on something bigger but she messed up a little trying to appeal to the public. Maybe she meant for Edwar..."
Yeah , but I question , why wouldnt he want a stronger more independent and confident woman?

I wouldn't be afraid to reread them, Lena. I read them for the first time a year and a half ago, when I was already an avid and discriminating reader. They were incredibly enjoyable. I think one of the things that is especially charming about the Twilight books is Meyer's ability to show the relationships between the characters in small ways. It reminds me a lot of the Harry Potter books that way.
About the writing, I see nothing particularly bad about it. Personally, I prefer a lot of imagery and description in my reading and tend to gravitate towards novelists who are also poets (Mauriac, Dillard), but I've never found a YA book that uses much imagery. For that reason, I could not call the writing good, but I think it's on the level with other YA books.

The whole book is very depressing and depressing-type stories aren't my cup of tea. It's okay to have books like these, but I personally don't like them. There are tons of books out there that are depressing on a way worse level (and sick) like The Handmaid's Tale and the depressing 1984, although these are depressing books everyone seems to treat them like a bloody pot of gold! While everyone bashes on Twilight for being too depressing but then look at the books I just mentioned!

Twilight isn't the Best Series I've read and I wouldn't take it too seriously even if Bella was trying to kill herself.
It's very clear that this series is intended for Teenagers anywhere between the age of 12-18 or 17 maybe.
What teenage girl isn't self centered like Bella is ? It's not surprising that she would be too depressed and thinks the world revolves around her, remember your first break up ? You probably thought the world was at an end especially if your BF is the one breaking up with you.
Bella comes as annoying and obnoxious but I think people are too harsh on her because as I said earlier this book is intended to teenagers and moms.

I think Bella in general is a bad role model for your girls. Whats she saying? That you should go try kill yourself so your ex boyfriend has sympathy for you and takes you back? In real life, that boy will just think you are seriously mixed up in the head.
