SOLVED. Siblings go to magic land, have magic silverware [s]

This book has been driving me crazy for years. It's about three siblings (I think it's two boys and a girl, but I'm not sure), and they live in this English countryside, possibly with a housekeeper. They find something, like an old magic wall maybe, out in the woods while on a picnic, and they find themselves in a magic land where they have to go on a quest. Each of them gets one of the pieces of silverware they brought for their picnic (spoon, knife, and fork) and they each go on their separate journey. The silverware transforms into tools at some point, I believe.

I read this maybe seven/eight years ago, but it seemed rather old then. I keep thinking it's The Enchanted Castle, but it's definitely not. I read them at similar times and got them mushed together in my head, so some of this might be wrong (not sure what, though). Thanks!

This would seem to be Steel Magic (aka Gray Magic) by Andre Norton. One of the reviews mentions the enlarged cutlery...

Thank you, that's it! I'm a little old for it now, but I might have to look into the series. I think I returned it last time so soon I didn't notice it was the first in a series - and then I couldn't find it again until now.
