Zeenat (zeekwon) | 241 comments And we have a title!!! What do you think?

PLEASE try to keep this thread spoiler free. Use spoiler tags for minor spoilers, but if possible let's try to keep this one clean. There is another thread available for spoiler filled discussions until the book has been out for at least a month.

Cher | 80 comments have we found out what the book is about yet? Not that impressed with the title but I'm sure the inside will more then make up for it :-)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 241 comments I'm wondering what kind of pool. Probably not a pool to dunk in (But trent in swimming trunks...)

No I'm thinking Pool like betting. So what are they betting on? I'm thinking back on what happened on "Trouble on Reserve" and not liking what I come up with...

Klint | 22 comments It could be "pool" like in a "genetic pool" (well, my english is not good but that's the meaning I get)

Kim said something about Trent having some problems and that he needs help to solve them but is not expecting this issues to blow in his face soon.

Maybe it means the vampires are not happy with the elves breeding true and the Undead Pool refers to their community.

Veronica (readingonthefly) Funny, but I locked onto the "undead" part of the title. So naturally I'm thinking vampires...which kind of bums me since I've been finding the elves and demons a lot more interesting at this point. I kind of feel like the vampires had their day in the earlier books.

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 241 comments On her blog someone asked "Very cool. Does the title mean we’re back to the vampires and done with elves/demons?" and her reply was "No, it means no one liked the title I submitted it under and they found a new one."

So it may have nothing to do with anything LOL!

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I'm not too crazy about the title but oh well. I'm sure the book will still be great.

Veronica (readingonthefly) Zeenat wrote: "On her blog someone asked "Very cool. Does the title mean we’re back to the vampires and done with elves/demons?" and her reply was "No, it means no one liked the title I submitted it under and the..."

LOL, that was me. I had to know. ;)

It looks like she's introducing a new species or "critter", as she phrased it. I'm curious to see what/who they are.

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 241 comments oooooh critter....

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 241 comments so the original title was "Mystic Impact". Man sounds apocalyptic LOL.

Veronica (readingonthefly) Yeah, I don't know what all goes into deciding on a book title or what makes one better than another. I think both titles are fine. *shrugs*

I'm just dying for the cover now. lol

Klint | 22 comments Well...who care about the title?? I think we all care about "the romance" inside the book, lol

Veronica (readingonthefly) Well, that's true. LOL! And Kim has outright said at one point that Rachel will find her HEA in this book and that book 13 will be, at least partly, about her trying to hold onto it. So I'm guessing that Rachel will realize who she is in love with in The Undead Pool and the last book may be "now what do I do about it?"

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Veronica G. wrote: "Well, that's true. LOL! And Kim has outright said at one point that Rachel will find her HEA in this book and that book 13 will be, at least partly, about her trying to hold onto it. So I'm gues..."

Eek I thought we had basically gotten to that point already ;)

Veronica (readingonthefly) Oh, you know Rachel. She can be slow on the uptake sometimes. :)

Lena (eksiya) | 5 comments Hm.. I am not too crazy about the title either. Don't bash me too much, but I'm not really voting for Trent. Don't know why, just something is missing there.

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 241 comments We have a synopsis for the next book, she said it would be out late February: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17...

as for demon and elves having kids (view spoiler)

Veronica (readingonthefly) Well, (view spoiler)

Where/when did she say that Zee?

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 241 comments on her blog, where you ask questions. I think it was one of the newer ones.

Veronica (readingonthefly) Found it, thanks, Disappointing to hear. Oh well.

message 21: by Cher (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cher | 80 comments that is really disappointing. I figured she'd use that angle to bring peace between the demons and elves :-(

Jennifer | 1 comments Oh! I don't know if I should be sad because we are on the final count down of books in this series, or bouncing off the walls ecstatic that we have the next title and publication date!

Klint | 22 comments I'm also disappointed :( and also I'm sad because the publication day is late February :(
I was hoping for January like this year!!!

I will pray to get an ARC......................

Veronica (readingonthefly) Kim's answer regarding marriages as a way to cement peace could be read as more of an "in general it's cliche" way. And since the only marriage-for-peace that is currently on the table is between Trent and Ellasbitch, it may be that THAT is the marriage that Kim is trying to avoid.

Klint | 22 comments I hope so, I hate Ellasbitch, yuuuuuuuk

Nichole | 6 comments Kim has said that Rachel gets her HEA, but that it may not be what people expect to be an HEA. I still expect some major twists! I am so rooting for Trent, I don't think he is always the nicest, but he is good for her. In my opinion the guys that cater to Rachel and are overly sweet turn out to be jack holes. Nick being a perfect example, Pierce also, then Marshall drops her when things get tough. Kisten told her how it was and pushed her to see things outside of her norm, Trent seems to do that too. My fingers are crossed that the end of The Hollows is befitting the awesomeness of the series and not a let down as some others have been recently!

Gille | 1 comments I don't care how this series ends..but for the love of god, do not make nick the final obstacle/boss please..his character kills me every time i see him while reading

Robert Rice | 1 comments Zeenat wrote: "And we have a title!!! What do you think?"

Again with the Clint Eastwood movie title.......I LOVE IT!!! I hope he reads and appreciates these books as much as we do!!!

Karinloos Hi ime new here, but I looooovvve the Hollows series, so cant wait for the Undead Pool.

I did read on her blog , she doesnt like to spring "suprises" on her readers (not counting Kisten's death here). She said something about taking 3 books to build the whole Ivy relationship and another 3 to tone it down. As Rachel has no love interest atm apart from budding something with Trent, it seems clear to me she will end up with him which I am totally happy with.

Jaclyn | 19 comments Kim posted a tease on her Facebook Page. What do you think?

Klint | 22 comments Jaclyn wrote: "Kim posted a tease on her Facebook Page. What do you think?"

Wow,that's fantastic, thank you Jaclyn!!

Which kitchen do you think she is talking about?

Regina (reginaontheroad) | 69 comments Please let it be Trent's kitchen!!
;)

Veronica (readingonthefly) Wow, interesting! If it's her own kitchen, why would she be worrying about getting to keep it? Jenks owns the church but I can't see him evicting her. Of course, it could also just be more of Rachel thinking that she's losing this part of her life (along with Jenna & Ivy).

Jaclyn | 19 comments Veronica G. wrote: "Wow, interesting! If it's her own kitchen, why would she be worrying about getting to keep it? Jenks owns the church but I can't see him evicting her. Of course, it could also just be more of Rac..."I agree that it could be her thinking about losing a part of her life since Jenks was talking about moving on, or it could be her walking in on a family scene with Trent and the girls (normal) having breakfast and her wanting to keep it. I think it's such a great tease.

VampireNovelFan | 489 comments The sooner we get those ARCs out, the better!

Jaclyn | 19 comments VampireNovelFan wrote: "The sooner we get those ARCs out, the better!"

You know that's right!

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 241 comments I was thinking she's in Trent's kitchen and it's a metaphor on how she can't have him but wants him. ;)

Veronica (readingonthefly) And I'd be totally cool with that, Zee! :)

Missyb | 26 comments whatever it means doesn't matter to me, I can't wait for another installment of Rachel Morgan, especially after the ending of the last one with Rachel & Al & Trent drinking together and Al passing out.

Could it be talking about gene pool (relationships, and who's related/belongs to who type deal)?

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Jaclyn wrote: "Kim posted a tease on her Facebook Page. What do you think?"

What's the tease? The link just goes to her facebook page for me.

message 41: by Cher (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cher | 80 comments I didn't like the name to begin with but now knowing what the book is about,it makes sense. I think the kitchen scene that KH just released is at Rachel's church before she leaves or moves out. If magic is acting up, now the line is fixed, Ivy will be affected.

Veronica (readingonthefly) Erin wrote: "Jaclyn wrote: "Kim posted a tease on her Facebook Page. What do you think?"

Erin, scroll down to her June 24th entry. It starts with: "Favorite line today..." :)

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) Ah found it now thanks. Hmmm. It's weird line though, I wish it was mine, mine to keep. The kitchen is currently hers. Also, with the way it's worded, it's possible it's something in the kitchen too.

Can't wait for the next book!

Regina (reginaontheroad) | 69 comments I think it's funny that she introduced Trent's new boat in Trouble on Reserve... could it be Trent's kitchen on the boat??

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 241 comments ooooh that's a thought. I was gonna say maybe they make it on the boat, but she already did that with Kisten... lol

Regina (reginaontheroad) | 69 comments Zeenat wrote: "ooooh that's a thought. I was gonna say maybe they make it on the boat, but she already did that with Kisten... lol"

but did they ever have a romantic scene in Kisten's boat kitchen??

i'm rereading the series right now and i am amazed at all the Trent hints... unless I'm just reading too much into it ;)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 241 comments well I don't think the boat was THAT big. I'm thinking a regular boat, not like a cruise ship. a sail boat or something. not much room in there and Kisten and Rachel were all over the place lol

I don't know if KH intended for Rachel and Trent to hook up... but the story has a funny way of unfolding on an author ;)

Veronica (readingonthefly) Oh, I agree that there were a lot of subtle Trent hints that we can pick up more clearly now. Lots of things that might indicate that Rachel maybe did not hate Trent quite as much she claimed. Things like letting him drive her car home, helping him with his Halloween costume, wondering what it would be like if Trent spoke to her in a soft & comforting way, letting herself fall asleep in his arms sure that he wouldn't let anything happen to her (while his arms tighten around her) - and that's just off the top of my head.

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 241 comments she definitely found him hot from the start. And I'm not sure Trent ever really hated her early on. I think he was scared/hated her around book 6 and 7

Regina (reginaontheroad) | 69 comments I just finished book 2... and I lmao when Rachel mentioned that she really liked the cinnamon perfume Ivy picked out.
