Lord Dain, Lord of Scoundrels is the first to pop into my mind. I love a grumpy hero as well. Looking forward to seeing what people come up with.
I'd say the Neighbor from Hell series by R.L. Mathewson might make the list lol love those!! And they always make me laugh.. actually even the Pyte/Sentinel series also would make this list :)R.L. Mathewson

I love a good grump. I would have said Barron's, but sure if he is a grump or just a jerk, :-) still love him.I will kept my eyes on this thread because I am always looking for a good grumpy hero.
Joe in At Peace
Ciaran Timberlane in My Forever Love
Alastair in To Beguile a Beast
Dageus MacKeltar in The Dark Highlander

I dunno if he fits the category but Diaz from Cry No More was one of the most intriguing heroes I've happened upon. Grumpy wouldn't be the word for him. I think "dangerous, silent, lethal" describe him best. PS- Yeah! I keep adding lethal at every chance I get! LOL.
@ Pamela - Oh I love Dageus. I have been listening to the audio books of this series and it is wonderful. I agree he is rather grumpy so is his brother for that matter. Must run in the family.
Some great choices here. Love Daegus (my favorite MacKeltar) and Jack Pallas. Another grumpy hero is Jake Dolan in
My phaj ej (hero)!! Barrons! Barrons! Jericho Z Barrons. Grumpy moody calculative annoying bite-worthy wonderful lovable possessive sweltering Barrons *swoons*

How funny! I thought of Jake in the shower last night.
I think of Barrons as a grumpy hero as well.

Okay, I plumbed my grumpy, brooding, surly hero shelf.

Azazel from Demon
Madoc from Living Nightmare
Joe Ledger from Patient Zero
Seth from Behind Closed Doors
Emerson from Crocodile on the Sandbank

Janie wrote: "Yep, and Zarek from Dance with the Devil by Sherrilyn Kenyon!"Oooo...I loved that book. Zarek was so strong yet heart breaking.
I thought of another one. Ren from
. He was super grumpy and refused to open up for quite a bit of the book. But once he did you just loved him.
Please add here so we have this good list forever! My favorite Gabe from

I remember Richard from Jill Barnett's Dreaming as quite a grump. But, to be honest, I'd be grumpy if I had to deal with Letty.

Love Joe, he's one of my favorites as well!
Just finished
and it was great! Bastian can be a very dangerous grumpy asshole, but he does have a wonderful heart under all that!
Tessa Dare's Stud Club series features two great grumpy heroes:Spencer Dumarque, Duke of Morland (One Dance with a Duke).
Rhys St. Maur, Lord Ashworth (Twice Tempted by a Rogue)
Rhys is especially fantastic. Love me some grumpy heroes :)
I think my type may be "grumpy, dark caveman with a tortured past". Yummy.
