Loved the book, the mystery, the romance, and the was it made me keep thinking about it even after I finished it. Now I just need to find a friend to loan it to!
Yes, Jessie! I totally loved the fact that certain events over-lapped. I think that's what made it even better for me.
That zombie thing cracked me up too! I like it when a writer can write witty with out trying too hard.
Keep spreading the word! This book is GREAT!!

I loved this one. It was so nice to read a book that was so original. I loved the plot, it reminded me a bit of the movie Sliding Doors. I wasn’t sure how things would pan out with reading two different possible futures, but I thought it was handled really well and things were pretty clear. I also loved how certain events overlapped in both realities. It was great.
I am normally not a fan of love-triangles, but it was handled great it this book. It’s not really a love triangle in the traditional sense anyway. I’ll start with Duke. I know this is totally random, but for some reason when he entered he scene I pictured Channing Tatum from She’s the Man, whose character was also named Duke. I guess that’s why I had a bit of a hard time switching to Team Trevor. I liked Duke though, I was disappointed that his motivations turned out to be a bit shady, especially where her BFF was concerned. I wanted more answers about that and what happened between him and Laila. Maybe we’ll get more answers in the next book. As the stories progress though Trevor really grew on me. I loved how kind and down to earth he is. He treats Addie so well and really seems to see her. I loved when things finally go from friends to more than friends. That was a great scene in his bedroom! (BTW, my parents would never have let me have a guy in my room in high school, even for “studying” I was surprised how easy going their parents were, but maybe I’m just too strict.)
Wow, that ending. Crazy, right? I loved the epilogue though and that it picks up right where we left off. I liked that Addie had memories (sort of) of Trevor before Laila has even returned her memories.
The writing was great. It flowed nicely and all the conversations seemed natural and believable. It was written in such a way that you could easily forget that you are reading and just get caught up in the story.
I bought the Kindle version, but this is one I will definitely get in hardcopy as well.
So, book two. Do you want from Addie’s POV or Laila’s? I haven’t heard one way or the other, but I’m curious to hear where the author will go.

BTW, I have no idea how we're going to top this for next month! I better go searching through my TBR pile and see what I can come up with.

I loved Trevor. Duke, not so much. I loved the ending and the twist.
My only wish is that the book was longer. I'm really glad that there will be a second one. I hope it's from Addie's POV again. Or Maybe (view spoiler) . That would be cool.
It will be hard to top this one. :)
Okay...I got a little behind on my stack this month, but I finished this last night and all I can say is WOW!!! This book was amazing!!! Sometimes these fantasy books get a little out there and they all start to blur together, being pretty similar, but this one really stood out as being original.
I loved the fact that each chapter switched between Norm world and Para world (I thought those definition headings were very creative). I, too, loved how both choices led to things that overlapped.
I liked Duke at first, but then he seemed to try too hard and I totally switched to Trevor. Although I did love Trevor from the beginning and wondered who in the world she'd choose!! Laila was a good best friend. She was so different from Addie, but sometimes that balance is a really good thing, as it seemed to be in their friendship. @Jessie--I felt really betrayed by her too!! I would love to see this continue in Addie's view, but it might be fun to have it switched up a bit. I just don't want to lose what we have going.
I think she's got some type of connection with Trevor because she always seems drawn to him. @Kathy--there's no way I would have been allowed to have a boy in my room either and my kids aren't allowed to. They are definitely more trusting than I am.
I agree--it's going to be hard to top this one.

Amen! I totally agree. It was such an original story, I think that's why I liked it so much. I hope lots and lots of people read it so she will keep writing. It's so fun to discover a new author!

I do agree with the mom being nonchalant about her hanging out in Trevor's bedroom when it was bed time.
I was sad all that occurred in the end and wondering what will happen with Trevor and her. I do wish the mystery portion of Poison and the missing girls would have been more in the story. I found all of that interested and loved that I was a little surprised in the end.
I let my daughter read this book after I finished. She was done in less then 24 hours and had red puffy eyes when she finished. She was a little upset with me for allowing her to read this book the way it ended. I told her that I hope that everything will work out with Trevor and Addie in the end.
It was interesting discussing with my daughter Addie's fear of Poison when she called her dad and then escaped into Bobby's house with him. How even though she didn't like him at all she felt safer with Bobby then Poison. I found it all interesting. Which was safer of the two options ended up being different than she thought.
Great recommendation girls!

When her mother kept being persuaded by Duke, I knew something was up.
I wouldn't want my child studying with the opposite sex in their bedroom either. I don't think you're too strict Kathy, I think it is staying out of situations that could be tempting. Keep our kids safe, right? ;)
Teryn- Yes, there is a second book. The cover just went up on Goodreads, it's called Split Second. I think it picks up around the same time as the first book ended. I think I read on her blog or something that there will be a new POV, I'm thinking maybe her BFF??

I am soooo happy to hear this story will continue on!! I need more of it and I agree Teryn--Addie's POV would be best, but maybe her BFF's will be great too.
I could be wrong, but I think we'll still
Have Addie's POV, there will just be another one. I think it's a different girl on the cover, that's why I was thinking maybe the BFF?

I thought this book was very original and it kept me turning pages. At some moments I was so bummed to go back the other "other" choice. It kept swapping for me. I have not enjoyed a book this much in a while. I loved Trevor! He was so real. He was just so multi layered. Duke was a curve ball for me. At first I thought he was fun and good for her, then I started not to trust him as much. I did not see the twist in the end coming? Did anyone else not see that one coming?
Okay I'm going to stop there because I really want to discuss this book not just give my over-all review. Please share and if you haven't read it...READ IT!
