I think the only reason I understood more is because Vicki and I read through book 1. Buddy reading definitely helps! LOL!

there were parts of this book I missed and things we both got confused and were going back and looking through the book!

Sounds good Kathy. I am currently working on a 1000 piece puzzle with 11 family members. It's a great family activity. We get so excited when we fit a piece. Lol Needless to say I haven't read today yet. Lol

It's been so fun and feels so good to be with my son and his 6 kids. My 2 daughters that are here I get to see throughout the year, but my son and his family live 325 miles from us.

okay, 5 chapters in

Finn (view spoiler)[ I'm saddened to see just how much he is cracking in the outside world. All that time he spent trying to understnd himself...only to lose himself the second he succeeed :( (hide spoiler)]

Claudia (view spoiler)[ she seems to be cracking a little too. it's a lot of pressure to run everything now that her dad is gone AND she has to watch Finn. Poor girl (hide spoiler)]

Attia (view spoiler)[ her anger makes me so sad. I can see how she may have lost hope. But it makes me sad she is so angry about it. Did she think Finn could just pop back whenever he wanted and come get her.

Keiro(view spoiler)[ so far, my heart breaks for him most of all. Because I think he might be our new bad guy. Of everyone, how can he have SO little faith in Finn?! (hide spoiler)]

Okay, I just finished ch. 5 and have read your spoilers.

Finn: I couldn't agree with you more on Finn. Very upsetting to me as well.

Claudia: I not only agree with all you said, but I also think that she probably (view spoiler)[ has never been truly prepared to run things. (hide spoiler)]

Attia: I really am hoping that she will (view spoiler)[grow and change her attitude. I think she needs to believe in Finn. She at least considered that perhaps he even had been killed. But she needs to know that he'll come back for her, simply because he gave her his word and he is trustworthy. (hide spoiler)] At least I think so.

Keiro: I don't quite understand why you (view spoiler)[ feel sorry for him. I definitely think he's the next bad guy, but I thought he probably was a bad guy in Incarceron too. He seems so adamant that Finn is GONE, and that angers me. Why wouldn't he trust him? (hide spoiler)]

I finished ch. 7 and now see why it put a smile on your face. Attia is gutsy. I always liked her, but I am even liking her more and more. I had no clue who was (view spoiler)[ on the horse, her knight in shining armor. But why did Rix give up the Glove so easily? (hide spoiler)] That part makes no sense to me whatsoever.

Okay, I'm going to try to get more reading in before all the kids wake up.

I think that the (view spoiler)[ new Giles is fake, and I think the Queen planned the whole thing. She would have known all the names of the people's wives and all, too. Caspar and she were smug and Claudia realized that something was off, so she sensed that something was happening. (hide spoiler)] Why would she have kept that a secret until that moment?

I am sorely disappointed in (view spoiler)[Jared. Why would he keep that from her, knowing how important it is to her? Makes no sense, but I didn't think he was working with her father. (hide spoiler)]

The ending of ch. 10...Ugh!!!! I want to know who (view spoiler)[ Giles is! But I'm still rooting for Finn. (hide spoiler)]

Okay, here is my question regarding Incarceron the Prison: Are you serious:? Incarceron is a (view spoiler)[ miniature place and Keiro is a miniature person and Incarceron is inside some cube that Claudia thought her father wore as a charm? (hide spoiler)] WTH? I cannot conceive that in my mind, science fiction or not!

I have still gotten no further. My son and one of his son is leaving in a little bit so we've been doing all kinds of things today, but not fun stuff. LOL We've been talking finances, refinancing our home, Dave Ramsey (financial guru) and how to get out of debt, and all of us playing musical chairs between units. LOL SOOOOOOOOOOOOO I am still barely in ch. 13.

I finished ch. 17 and I am really excited to see what happens next! I am nervous about the (view spoiler)[ "game" or competition between the Pretender and Finn. The note from Claudia saying that if he didn't win that they would both be killed really makes me nervous. The Queen is EVIL!! She is definitely, in my opinion, behind the Pretender. And what about that attack of the arrows? No way that wasn't ordered.(view spoiler)[

The Sun Lord and Shadow Lord (view spoiler)[ add additional suspense to everything already happening. An Inquisitor is a harsh person, so that makes me nervous for Finn! Poor guy! (hide spoiler)] I am really keeping my fingers crossed.

and wow. so much has happened..

I'm surprised by how often they mention (view spoiler)[ how much Finn lies. I can see how that can be hard for Claudia (hide spoiler)]

and Keiro - (view spoiler)[ I still don't think they can get him out....because of how much he is Incarceron metal (hide spoiler)]

and I'm a little worried about Claudia's (view spoiler)[ world. It's glitching. So which one IS incarceron and which one ISN'T?? Maybe Claudia's world IS incarceron. The "perfect" world that was supposed to be so wonderful for everyone. (hide spoiler)]

I only made it through ch. 20. I am going nuts not knowing what's going to happen. It seems to me that with science fiction, anything is possible. LOL I still want Giles to be Finn. I am so upset with Sia! And I hate (view spoiler)[ the Pretender! (hide spoiler)]

I felt so bad for Finn during the (view spoiler)[ inquisition, but the Pretender had too many perfect answers! He pisses me off, and I am so sure he is the Queen's plant. (hide spoiler)]

The idea that Keiro holds the (view spoiler)[ Glove is unnerving too. The Warden said that will be the final piece to the puzzle...hmmmm. How iroic as well that he tells Claudia that she will be his successor after all. (hide spoiler)]
