5.4 – 40 years ago.
In 1973, one of the top summer hits was “Will It Go Round in Circles,” recorded by Billy Preston. Will It Go Round in Circles?

Read a book that goes round in circles – a round/oval hoop or ring (a circle without a center) on the cover of the book. Letters and numbers cannot be used for this.
Examples:
The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides - ring
We Have Met the Enemy Self-Control in an Age of Excess by Daniel Akst - doughnut
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein - red ring around word "Verity"

Does not work: Winter Moon by Mercedes Lackey - the moon is a circle but not a ring - no hole in the center.

REQUIRED: Include the cover in your post and specify what the circle is.

There needs to be some sort of hole for this to work - this is still solid.

I don't see any hole in this one, making it a ring or hoop.

Holes (Holes, #1) by Louis Sachar"

The holes dug in the sand don't have an empty space in the circle. Think of it this way -if you could pick up the thing that's a circle and look through the hole in the middle, what would you see? If you can see the air, or look through a tube to see space or sky, or see something else in the background, then it works. But if you had a plastic cup and looked through the circle at the top, you'd just see the bottom of the cup. Here, you'd see more sand - the bottom of the hole.

Kate wrote: "Awesome, Sandy, thanks! I've been looking forward to reading this one."

I haven't read it, but I love Neil DeGrasse Tyson - I heard him speak a couple years ago and I was ready to quit my job and go back to school and learn physics! Fortunately, that impulse died away by the time I got to the car, since my science background and interest are seriously limited.
