I already have a 6 and 7 lined up. Now to fill those first five slots...

Book 1

Book 2

Book 3

Book 4

Book 5

Book 6

Or taking the time to update all those challenges online LOL I feel your pain, Evana :)

Yay, thank you! I'm likely to start with #1 anyhow, but it's nice to know I don't have to :)

Plus like you've mentioned before, some of us series-obsessed would like to make dents in the series we're in before we read book one in another! haha

This mini-challenge will last from Saturday May 18th until Friday May 31st. Any books shelved as FINISHED during these days will count towards the challenge.
I will give it a try as now, i'm done with school can focus more with reading

I am reading a nummer one just now but I am hopefully finished that one by tomorrow. But I have several other books lined up that are useful.

Hopefully I can figure out if Amazon/B&N allows email gift cards to be sent internationally!

Do those of you who live outside the US use Amazon to purchase books? Do you buy the ebook version?
We'll figure out a prize to make it fair for all if we can't work that out.
I'm pretty dense, I should have worked out the international issue before I posted the challenge!

Guess we'll see, eh?

So an Amazon gift Card is no problem for me.

Steven, Barb, Evana, Kayla, Lisa, Sheila, Nancy"
I, Karla, am in. Not Kayla, who is too busy with school.

I'll go fix it now!

Steven, please tell me that this starts and ends according to our local time on the appropriate days? Or are you going to choose one time zone as the beginning/end times?

Maybe everyone should post date/time finished in addition to all that info from post two!

Personally, I would use the countdown site that was used for the May R-a-T, showing both beginning and ending times.

Besides, all these time zones get so complicated haha

I picked up some of my possible books for this challenge at work today. Several others are on their way to me from other libraries in our system, so I'll probably have those in hand Monday. I even dug the ones I own out of the multiple piles of books sitting around the house! The point of all of this is: I'm ready for the challenge to begin! LOL
Aside to Sallie: Yes, these were all on my library list when the Double Dare challenge began :) I just hadn't gotten around to reading them yet!

But good for this challenge LOL.
It means I have finished my number ONE:
Interview with the Vampire
The Vampire Chronicles #1

353 pages
I have chosen to put that edition in as my read book. I am actually reading

WTG Steven! I worked all day today, and am taking a few moments to sit and veg before I cook dinner, then I plan to get back to reading my #3 in a series book. I hope to finish it tonight, but since I work again tomorrow, I can't guarantee I'll be able to stay up that late tonight :\

Everyone loves a good series! Plus, we need to get our numbers up for the Tower Challenge, so let's get reading!
Here's the scoop: we are going to read books from series. The same series, different series, doesn't really matter. What will matter is what NUMBER in the series each book falls. The LONGEST string of consecutive books will win.
Read the numbers in any order you want. Read book seven of the Harry Potter, then book two of the Sookie Stackhouse series -- it's your call! But be warned -- if there is a break in the sequence at the end of the mini-challenge, we'll take the longest "run" as your score!
Here's an example:
Barb reads 7 series books, numbered 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8.
Evana reads 7 series books, numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
Barb's longest sequence is 5-8, so she gets FOUR for her score. Evana's longest connected sequence is 1-7, for a score of SEVEN. EVANA would win... unless Barb finished a series book numbered 4, which would connect the full sequence and provide her with a score of EIGHT.
You DO NOT need to start with ONE. Any consecutive runs of books will count towards your score.
In the case of a tie, I'll total up the pages read for each of the tied winning sequences, and the person with the highest page count will win the gift card.
If that doesn't make sense, please ask questions. As stated before, the books don't have to be from the same series.
ALL THE TOWER CHALLENGE RULES APPLY: Rereads are okay as long as it's been at least a year, page counts need to be over 160 pages, no graphic novels, etc.
This mini-challenge will last from Saturday May 18th until Friday May 31st. Any books shelved as FINISHED during these days will count towards the challenge.
I'll keep a post following this one to track our books, so just post here when you've completed one after the challenge has started.
THERE WILL BE AN ACTUAL PRIZE FOR THE WINNER OF THIS MINI-CHALLENGE, as long as the winner has read at least 5 books total. I'll update you all once I've decided on the exact prize, but it will be along the lines of an Amazon/B&N eGift Card.
Please post here by FRIDAY to let me know if you are participating! :) (Also, I will be participating for fun, but not competing for the prize, as I'm providing the prize!)
