Wanda (and everyone on this discussion), I just realized...We are all VIRTUAL HOARDERS! Hmmm, maybe if I get rid of something in my house every day I download a new book, my house will get clean! LOL

Michelle Gross I have 64 on my Kindle and 63 regular books I need to read. My to-read list has 134 (including all these). I've discovered I hate the shopping cart icon on my Kindle. It's WAY too easy to buy books at 3 am.

Kayci Morgan About 100.

Mtsnow13 about 1700 on my kindle..Good thing I have amazon cloud service, as for my nook, about 850... good thing it has an sd-card :)

Kaeri 121, and I plan to read all of them.

I still have my "real books" pile, so I really don't have any idea how I'd be able to finish them all.

So many books, so little time.

message 156: by J (new) - rated it 4 stars

J Wow: Mtsnow13 you are close to the record!!

I just can't believe, with all the unread books sitting on my Kindle, that I'll read a summary or review of another book and it justs sound so great I have to have it now. Its like if I don't buy it now it will be gone when I want it. It must be some dark, twisted thought that Amazon secretly zaps into your brain!

Ha! Well, so many of mine are 'Free' books, that look like they might be interesting, and I always worry about the day when I won't be able to afford to buy books, so I have something for that 'rainy day'.

Really and truly, I am just becoming an ebook hoarder.. but it doesn't take as much room in my house as my other 'real' books :)

message 158: by Kendra (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kendra You know the free books is what get's you. I just added more to my library today, when will I stop. Is there a ebook rehab facility. :)

message 159: by Megan (new) - rated it 1 star

Megan I only have two unread on my e reader, fifty shades and the girl with the dragon tatto! I couldn't get into either of them. Also the freebie ones that came with it. I started reading hard copies again. I forgot how much I missed reading an actual book! And mine gets a terrible glare on the beach so a regular book doesnt give me the problem. My problem is I live in a one bedroom apartment and its starting to look like I am a book hoarder lol!

Loved Crossfire too, just downloaded Entwined to you but cannot start until I finish my current book 'Back Stage Pass' have you read that one?

message 161: by J (new) - rated it 4 stars

J I loved Crossfire #1 and #2 also. I bought #3, started to read it and thought it was just a rehash of #2. So I read some reviews on Amazon and found out that #3 was not going to be the promised conclusion of Crossfire; that we were all pimped that this series was a trilogy and now it was going to be at least 5 books (if not more). So I stopped reading #3 and will boycott future stories. #1 and #2 will be my Crossfire series and I will be satisfied with that.

Call me immature, bitchy, whatever you like. But I don't like being royally pimped to make a few more $$$. I have plenty of unread books on my Kindle to keep me occupied.

Have not read Backstage Pass. I'll have to check it out.

I agree with you, I bought and read #3 and there was no natural ending, it just stops half way through the story. It seems to me she just wanted to get something out there to keep the interest in the series going. If Sylvia Day wants me to buy #4 and #5 she will have to sell them at a 'buy one get one free' for £1. - Very disappointed.

message 163: by Angela (new) - rated it 5 stars

Angela geez, thanks for the heads-up on the Crossfire series. I was so excited for book 3.... oh well, now I can move on to the next book on my list. I must say that this is one of the best threads ever. :)

message 164: by Brenda (new) - rated it 5 stars

Brenda I loved number 3 and will buy 4 and 5 if there are more. Back to how books we have in the ereader. Well, Amazon has a huge amount of free books on their site as of last night. I downloaded 48 full size novels ranging from erotic and romance to a few mystery. Free is free and I'll read every one of them in the next month.

KimeyDiann I've only got about 25-30 unread ebooks. I thougth that was a ton, but after reading through this thread, I don't feel so bad anymore. :)

My goodreads TBR shelf and wishlists are well over 100 books... and I add more practically every day.
I just signed up for the bookgorilla, so I figure my numbers will skyrocket... I added a few based on the recomendations from this thread. The only reason I don't have lots more books than I do is based on the simple fact that I'm cheap. But I am a sucker for those Kindle Daily Deals Amazon emails out and interesting sounding freebies. I had stopped looking at free books, but since I'll be getting daily emails with a list of cheap books, my wallet may start hurting. LOL

message 166: by Vicki (new) - rated it 3 stars

Vicki Oh no, I don't want to hear that about the crossfire books :(
I just finished 'Backstage Pass' last night and wanted to continue on with the follow up 'Rockhard' but had to get Crossfire #3 started - Only read a couple of chapters but will be pissed if I don't get the happy ending I was hoping for :( I don't want to keep reading them if they're just going to be dragged out. Should have just stopped at 2 by the sounds of it.

Dani Kim, I'm right there with you. I beat around the bush with my initial response, but the fact is that I am cheap, too. My budget is tighter than a catsuit, so I have to be very picky about what I spend money on. I've been a library patron since elementary school, so I didn't grow up with the need to own the books I read. Sure, it is nice to own books, but it is enough for me to have access to books.

message 168: by Brenda (new) - rated it 5 stars

Brenda I'm happy with the continuation of the crossfire books. How many authors continue characters for multitude of books? James Patterson is highly guilty of it with his Women's murder club, Alex Cross series and others. Why are you faulting Sylvia Day for doing the very same thing? Her writing is excellent and we all crave her books or we wouldn't be so anxiously awaiting additional books no matter the subject.

message 169: by J (new) - rated it 4 stars

J Brenda: I deleted my big Crossfire post thinking better of foisting my opinions on others. My answer to your question is because (1) We were led to believe it was a trilogy, and #3 would be what many of had waited for months to have, an HEA (2) Not once during those months were we told it wasn't going to be a trilogy, only to find out after we had pre-ordered, paid for and received the book that there were more books coming and (3) When I started reading #3 it was just a rehash of #2 and I felt cheated. Now, I didn't finish #3 so maybe something happened down the line that was different from #2 but right now I'm not in a mood to find out. I'm glad you liked #3 and I hope you enjoy all the others she writes and publishes.

Back to all my unread Kindle books (a number that is rapidly growing).

Bella Marie 850 unread books all paranormal romance. and i will read each and every one of them!! i am now content.

message 171: by J (new) - rated it 4 stars

J Bella: I have never once read a paranormal romance. I being serious when I ask you to explain what it is that so many people like about it. Why does it seem to be even more popular than just regular romance books?

Judy, I just started reading PNR in the last year. Due to the nature of the paranormal creatures, the love-at-first-sight (or in many cases, sniff) is actually credible and the super-human traits and abilities allow for all kinds of conflict and exciting plots and adventures. Since mating or the consequences of mating are usually an important part of the plots, steamy (or mild) sex scenes are very relevant to lots of the stories. The longevity of the paranormal creatures also makes it more credible that that the alpha types would have lots of accumulated wealth at their disposal.

I now LOVE this genre. It is true that there is a lot of low-quality PNR out there...you may have to kiss a few frogs before you find your favorite authors. The first ones I really liked were the Law of the Lycans series by Nicky Charles (which are all free downloads!) and Terry Spear's Heart of the Wolf series. Enjoy!!

❤️Melanie G.📖💛 I have to say I have recently become a book/reading addict and I have WAY too many of these books on my Kindle. But they are the best books to have.

message 179: by Tonje (new) - rated it 5 stars

Tonje I'm sorry but i have to ask, what is this cloud thing? I really am blank when It comes to this lol. I've read a little about kindle paperwhite and fire. But I don't what to get?

message 180: by J (new) - rated it 4 stars

J Jessica:

I, like millions of others, loved the 50 Shades books. And, I admit, there are lots of people that didn't like them that much.

Book 1 and 2 were my favorites. I would urge you to finish Book 1 and then I think you will at least want to read the first part of Book 2. After that I think you will have a fairly good handle on whether you want to finish the series or not.

Mochaspresso Tonje wrote: "I'm sorry but i have to ask, what is this cloud thing? I really am blank when It comes to this lol. I've read a little about kindle paperwhite and fire. But I don't what to get?"

In simple terms, the cloud is like an online storage drive. Everything that you buy (books, music, movies) gets stored there and can be retrieved at any time in the future from any compatible device. So hypothetically, if you lose your kindle or get a new one, you still have access to all of the books that you've already purchased.

The paperwhite is a kindle (ereader). The advantages of it over a basic kindle is that it is thinner and has a better screen. You can read at night without any additional light and you can read it outdoors in direct sunlight. The kindle fire is a tablet. Besides reading books, you can also use it to go online, download apps, watch movies, listen to music, play games etc.

Tonje Thank you mochaspresso :-)
Think Im gonna get a kindle paperwhite then, I already have a samsung tablet. No need for a second one.

message 183: by Donna (new) - added it

Donna Okay did a quick estimate on books I have gotten from amazon, and I know that I have at least a couple hundred free ones,I use the Kindle loan site but I have ordered since my first kindle over 500 hundred books so guessing I am sitting pretty close to 1,000 with the loaners , bought and free ones. Good grief ! Scares me ! =

No problem. btw, If you already have a samsung tablet, you can just download the free kindle app for the tablet, if you want. You still get the benefits of the cloud with the free kindle apps too. If you already have a tablet, you don't necessarily have to buy a separate kindle if you don't want or need to.

message 185: by Donna (new) - added it

Donna I would never discourage anyone from upgrading to a Kindle Fire, this is my second had the original. Have talked with many users of other brands and would still go with my Kindle no regrets !

message 186: by Jackie (new) - rated it 5 stars
