My name is Mishana and I've been a GoodReads member for some time now. I've just published my first book with Kindle Direct Publishing, and am trying to figure out the marketing game. I'm not really the kind of person to aggressively promote anything, and I'd rather be writing and reviewing books quietly at home, so I've decided I'm going to do just that, until I get the hang of things.
So this is my Hello! I love Roald Dahl, Jane Austen, Lionel Shriver, and almost anything Victorian and Regency. I'm fussy about good grammar and spent two months just reviewing my book over and over for fear of having typos in the final version.
I'm so glad to be here!
And this is me: A Brave Day for Harold Brown

Thanks for letting me join :-)

Hi Gina! It's an Amazon platform that allows you to format and upload your book and make it available on Amazon. It doesn't cost anything because you do it all online, unless you spend on getting professional editing or designs made for your book.
I'm still learning about it, so I don't feel very qualified to talk about it, but here's the link: https://kdp.amazon.com/
Good luck,
Mishana

For several years, I've written for fun for myself. I've read a lot of fiction and always thought that I could do that and sometimes 'I can do better'.
Thanks to the encouragement of friends, I finally took the plunge and self-published after they insisted my work had to be shared.
Scary at first, as the first sales started to tick up, scared changed to excited. Having been out less than 2 weeks, reviews are starting to come back and it's so encouraging that people are loving it!
So now the next three books in The Written Pictures series are being prepared for release - they've already been written but need the usual dusting down and sprucing up.
The first book was out 11th August and is called Descent Into Darkness.

"TO KILL A LIKENING"
Hey Everyone, I'm Laurie way up in Canada and I like to sit around berating myself for every typo and grammatical error I make WHILE I'm writing.
I'm working on it though.
Despite this significant, personal flaw, I managed to finish the first draft of an Erotic/Romance novel with the working title of "Like a Bird". I have no idea how to make italics and other pretty things in Goodreads comments but I am actually a designer in real life.
Great to meet you all!
