ARCHIVE TWO: PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF ~
Welcome, Dr. Tirth. We are reading two books on WWII now:http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...

Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you are ready to cite a book. (There is a link on the top right of the reply box.) It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link at the very bottom of the post after your text. Because it is on the bottom, it calls the reader's attention to the book/author and increases the readability of your posts.

Hi, 65 year old history buff. Partially retired lawyer. Currently reading the presidents from A-Z in a Shelfari reading group. I am currently reading Grover Cleveland by Brodsky. The author asserts he is our most overlooked and most honest president. There are many parts of history I like: medieval times, Roman history, Byzantium, etc. We live in Richmond, Va but also have a condo at Virginia Beach.

Hi. I am Bob and I joined last week. I've been a history buff since I was young (which has been a while!). I'm kind of partial to American history ("Metaphysical Club" is one of my all-time favorites) and history of science, but I am also interested in the historical context of current events worldwide (esp. Egypt & Middle East and East/Southeast Asia).
Hi, my name is Jessica and I majored in European History (specifically politics of Medieval-Renaissance Europe and Russian History) in college and got my BA from University of Albany, SUNY. I currently work as a stage manager and am trying to get my MA in Political Science & International Relations.
Hi Bob and welcome to the place for the history buff. Let me get you started with a link to current events/politics.http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...

Hi everyone , I'm Jenn. I live New Jersey, married with 2 kids and 4 pets. I love history, my main interest is ancient history, especially Egypt. I'm also into Native American history as my grandfather was part Cherokee. I'm always looking for new history books to read and hope to go back to school when my kids are older to get my degree in Ancient History.
Hi All,I am MK Alexander from New York, and I love alternate history more than history itself! Well, perhaps that's an exaggeration. Any age or era will do me, from Paleolithic times to the 1960's, and all places and points in between.
My favorite historian of all time is James Burke.

Hi there - glad of the opportunity to mix with other like-minded people. I am a Scot, retired, but still 'employed' as an Honorary Post-Doctoral Fellow at Edinburgh University, which is near where I live. My specialist 'arena' is the Honourable East India Company (the English/British one). My interests are wide-ranging, however, in Literature as well as History - taking in the Americas, Europe and Asia. This looks a rich and rewarding site.Best Wishes
George

Hi Daniel and welcome to "history central. It is good to see a young man who already has a taste for history. Let me get you started with a link to the Civil War (War Between the States)http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...
As you get started please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the "add book/author" feature when you comment. It makes things so much easier for people to see your book recommendations, because they can see the cover and the links to the author. And it helps the Goodreads software connect books with groups that talk about them. When citing a book and/or author, please put the book cover, author's photo and author's link after all of the text of your post at the bottom of the post. Placement at the bottom of the post calls the reader's attention to the book and/or author and increases the readability of your post. This is how books you mention should look:
