Hello, all, I am Michael and live in Kentucky. I am employed as a World Geography instructor at a couple community colleges, teach World Geography and Map Analysis at a small regional university, and manage a GIS/remote sensing lab at the same uni. I've always enjoyed biographies of people, from scientists, explorers, to world leaders. World War Two history, in spite of the years, is fascinating, especially with the trove of information awaiting discovery in Russian archives. The stories of science born of WW2 necessity are amazing, Tuxedo Park and Bletchley Park. Both the histories of science and the histories of geographic discovery I find captivating. Thanks for allowing me to join :)

My name is Sean Crandall, I'm currently a 7th grade American History teacher, and have taught American History, World History and Civics over the past 8 years. I hold college degrees in History, Art History, and Secondary Social Studies Education and have read and been exposed to a variety of historical perspectives. These days I generally read less secondary material when it comes to history and I immerse myself in the documents from the past. My hope in joining this group was to find out about books/authors that have new and exciting perspectives of history to share. My interests are widespread, though I have found myself gravitating to the following topics in recent years: Ancient Rome, China (from around 500 to 1500), World War I, and the Civil Rights Movement. Hey Guys, My name is Jamie. I'm from the U.S. and I was a history major in college. I joined this group to hold myself more accountable in keeping up my historical reading as well as to engage in conversation with people of like minded interest.

My name is Tom, and I'm based in Western Canada.

I'm 30 now, and I have a degree in Military and World History.

If I was to list my interests it might include a bit of everything, but overall subjects of interest include International Relations, Politics and Economics. More specifically I am fascinated with Africa, the Middle East, China, Russia, the Cold War, WWII, Communism, the United States, 19th and 20th centuries and current affairs.

I love traveling wherever and whenever I get the opportunity; I've been lucky enough to have visited some 50+ countries so far. Right now I am in the early stages of opening an Eco-Lodge/Hostel in Panama with 2 friends/business partners.

I couldn't believe how lucky I was to find goodreads, I am really looking forward to getting involved here as much as possible. I like to put a lot of thought into the books I read so this place will be perfect to swap suggestions and share opinions.
