No matter how many times I look at the list of who is signing and when, I inevitably miss something. So if anyone wants to share their schedule(s) in here, I figured it'd be like group schedule making, right? LOL

message 2: by Laura (last edited May 08, 2013 11:00AM) (new)

Laura (bookcaselaura) | 202 comments That's a great idea! Thanks! I'll post mine as soon as I get the first draft done...looks like we'll be in a lot of the same lines :)
BTW - Spencer Hill is #2567 if you needed that.

Also, Eloisa James's book is a historical romance novel.

Your schedules are awesome, Hannah! I need to figure out how to transfer my excel docs into Google docs, then I'll share too.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one confused by all the Sylvia Day stuff. I read in PW that Afterburn will be a galley drop, and that's a Harlequin book. So, I think it's resonable to assume that at least one of those Harlequin time slots is a signing. Perhaps the other is just a galley drop?

Nope - they're all signing times listed on her website. I just don't know what book.

Elizabeth "Liza" (lizarodz) | 15 comments Mine are in Excel, but I don't mind sharing by email. Maybe I can figure out how to transfer to Google Docs.

I had read she was signing Entwined on Facebook somewhere, so I just tweeted her and she confirmed it! She didn't say which time, but since it's published by Berkley (which is Penguin), I'm assuming it's the Penguin In-Booth signing on Saturday at 10 am? Unless the Reflected In You listing for the autographing area was a mistake and it was supposed to be Entwined?

I know most of you have probably seen that, but maaaan I honestly forget how I was able to do half the signings I wanted to do last year!

message 10: by Lil (new)

Lil (lili_) To transfer something to Google docs, go into google docs and upload the new document from your computer. It's that simple. (: Or, of course, you can copy and paste.

Then change privacy settings to view only from anonymous people who have the link that way someone doesn't actually go in and hurt your spreadsheet and there you have it.

I am trying to remember how I did it too... It's something you get in the moment I guess lol

message 12: by Hannah (new)

Hannah McBride (ideally_hannah) | 620 comments Mod
If I remember correctly, I didn't. If I got the book in a galley drop I typically skipped the signing, especially for arcs.

message 13: by Laura (new)

Laura (bookcaselaura) | 202 comments Me too. It's just so much more productive that way. It's nice to meet the author, but not if you have to wait an hour (or 2) for a book you can get in a drop.

message 14: by Sara (new)

Sara | 8 comments If on the in-booth signing schedule it says that an author is signing a galley, does that mean they will have copies there for you to get or do you have to get one at the galley drop and then bring it with you to the in-booth signing for the author to sign?

message 15: by Hannah (new)

Hannah McBride (ideally_hannah) | 620 comments Mod
All signings provide their own copy. No need to bring your own or grab one in a drop. :)

message 16: by Laura (new)

Laura (bookcaselaura) | 202 comments They will have them. You never have to get a book on your own - occasionally they will hand them out to people in line, but most of the time they will have a big pile when you get up to the front of the line.

message 17: by Hayley (new)

Hayley G (hayleyg) | 17 comments These are so helpful guys! This will be my first time attending BEA, finally! LOL and I'm starting to stress a bit about scheduling, I'm afraid i'm going to miss everything.

message 18: by Hayley (new)

Hayley G (hayleyg) | 17 comments If you don't mind me asking, where do you find this information on booth signings and such?

message 19: by Laura (new)

Laura (bookcaselaura) | 202 comments What kind of information are you looking for?

message 20: by Hayley (new)

Hayley G (hayleyg) | 17 comments I was just curious if there was an info packet that BEA emails out with all the author signing info, publisher booth numbers and such. Is there such a thing and I'm just missing it?

message 21: by Hayley (new)

Hayley G (hayleyg) | 17 comments O, and I was curious if they have scheduled galley-drops, or is that just something I should keep an eye out on Twitter for?

message 22: by Laura (new)

Laura (bookcaselaura) | 202 comments BEA doesn't send out an email...you can get the schedule at BEA or plan ahead using the website.
They will have the full schedule for both in-booth signings and autographing area signings (right now just the autographing area signings are up, but supposedly the rest will be up tomorrow). You can view a list with all the authors or all the books, or view it by day/time. I have the full list in a spreadsheet if you want me to email it to you - just send me an email - BookcaseLaura (at) gmail.com.
Some booths will have planned galley drops - others will just put them out randomly or give you a schedule on that day.
If you read the messages in some of the other threads in this group, you'll get a lot of that information.

Both. I print a copy to take, but I also can access my google docs on an app I have on my phone, plus I have the BEA mobile app on my phone which has everything I picked on the website in it.

Seeing other people's schedule is fascinating to me. I love seeing what's important to other people. LOL

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

I love stalking other people's schedules, too! Especially pretty ones that're all color-coded and whatnot. ;)

Here's mine; it's a little messy and I'm still working on it, but whatever! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/c...

Btw: is there a way to sort by time that DOESN'T put 1:00 signings before 10:00 ones?

message 26: by Hannah (new)

Hannah McBride (ideally_hannah) | 620 comments Mod
Probably if you convert it to military time

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

Hannah wrote: "Probably if you convert it to military time"

Bleh, that's no good. Guess I'll just have to do it by hand! (Also, I've fixed the sharing options, lol! I think anyone can view it now, not just me. Right?)

Put an apostrophe in before you enter your time. So, you would enter '1:00 and '10:00. The spreadsheet program will delete the apostrophe on its own and enter the time as typed.

You can also do a custom sort and type in the times in the order you want yourself separated by commas and then hit sort. i.e. 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, etc...

message 31: by Jen (new)

Jen (jenlr) | 94 comments Here's my schedule :)

I don't plan on hitting everything so some of what's there is just so I'm aware of what's going on in case I come to a line I don't want to tackle, etc.

message 32: by Sara (new)

Sara | 8 comments Isn't Rick Yancey signing Friday at 3, not Thursday? Or is he signing both days?

message 33: by Jen (new)

Jen (jenlr) | 94 comments Hhmm, I'm not sure. I could have it wrong.

I like scrambling, it is fun and exciting. Tabitha, I don't exactly plan every single second of my time a the Javits either so it's no biggie :P
