Trying to finish it before the movie comes out this week? I will go back and re-read the Harry Potter series after I watch the movie. :)

After you are finished with that one, Stephanie Meyer has Midnight Sun on her website. It is basically Twilight from Edwards POV. She only got half way through it before it was leaked onto the internet so she isn't going to finish it, but I still thought it was very good.

message 203: by [deleted user] (new)

Currently, I am listening to A Great and Terrible Beauty at work and re-reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone at home. I am also picking up Evermore from the library tonight.

message 204: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) Just finished Succubus Blues - Richelle Mead. A great book. I am going to read A Winter's Tale - Mark Helprin (ML).

message 205: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) Have to put my books aside and read a ML (Mobile Library) book called Wedding Babylon - Imogen Edwards-Jones & Anonymous.

I heard about Midnight Sun and how she didn't finish it. It's a bummer, really. I hope she finishes it someday. What did you think of the series?

Right now, I'm reading The Secret Life of Bees, and I think I'm also going to read The BFG.

message 207: by [deleted user] (new)

It is a bummer! I enjoyed the series. I probably read all 4 books and the follow-up Midnight Sun in about a week. I did go back and think about some of the relationships and find a few good points from other readers, but to enjoy the books so much to not put them down for a week? I can't really complain about them! :)

message 208: by Jessika (new)

Jessika Hoover (jessalittlebooknerd) I couldn't put them down, either! I mean, I know they weren't the greatest books, and I totally understand and respect the opinion of those who didn't like them, but I don't know what it was...I just loved them!

message 209: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished Evermore this weekend and will continue listening to A Great and Terrible Beauty and re-reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

Finished A Great and Terrible Beauty.

I am going to continue reading Eldest and re-reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone & Twilight.

message 212: by Priscilla (new)

Priscilla VdL (dunnopris) i'm still rereading Harry Potter 6...after i'll start reading the chronicles of NArnia...

message 213: by [deleted user] (new)

I want to read Narnia soon as well. These are books I never read when I was younger and have been wanting to read for a while. I'm hoping to get a Kindle soon and will have an easier time getting books.

message 214: by Abbie (new)

Abbie (abbiebum) | 205 comments i re read Harry potter 6 too before i saw the movie and then i started this one called All the Tea in china

message 215: by Jessika (new)

Jessika Hoover (jessalittlebooknerd) I read the Chronicles of Narnia last summer and I really enjoyed all of them! I read one or two of them when I was younger, but I think I appreciated them more reading them after I got older. I could still read them as a charming story, but I also understood all of the Christian allegory behind the story.

message 216: by [deleted user] (new)

Jess, sounds like waiting to read them wasn't too bad a choice on my part then! :) My husband says he read them when he was younger and probably wouldn't read them again, but that could be because he didn't understand some of what was going on at his young age.

message 217: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) Stopped Over The Edge - Jonathan Kellerman. Gonna try and read Succubus Nights - Richelle Mead.

message 218: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished re-reading Twilight.

I will continue reading Eldest and re-reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

message 219: by Jessika (new)

Jessika Hoover (jessalittlebooknerd) Linda Grace--I thought Eldest was pretty good, although slow in some parts. What do you think of it? I still haven't gotten around to reading Brisingr, which I got when it was released.

I just finished The Secret Life of Bees and it's now one of my favorites! Next, I'm starting The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane, which I'm really excited for!

message 220: by [deleted user] (new)

So far it's okay. I like learning more about Roran's life, but the switching back and forth is a little frustrating at times.

message 221: by Jessika (new)

Jessika Hoover (jessalittlebooknerd) Yeah, I did get a bit frustrated with that book. I didn't think it was as bad as a lot of people found it, but then again, I'm usually the type to just read for entertainment.

message 222: by [deleted user] (new)

So am I. It's so much more fun that way! :)

message 223: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

message 229: by [deleted user] (new)

It was really good. I am enjoying this series immensely! I am going through them so fast because I want to find out what happens next. :) I guess it can be like that with most series.

message 230: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha yeah... I love series. There are still a few I want to read, but I like to finish them once I start them and I have a pile of books to read already.

message 247: by [deleted user] (new)

Jo, how did you like The Time Traveler's Wife? Did you see the movie?

I am almost finished with Fragile Eternity and am about to start The Host for our group read next month.

message 248: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh awesome. When I open up the discussions for our group read, I look forward to hearing more about your thoughts on The Host.

I did see the movie. It did cut out some things, but I feel like they were the right parts. Because the book/movie was pretty from the beginning of their lives to end, a lot of the scenes were shortened as well. I would suggest seeing the movie, but not until it comes out on video in order to let the book stay in your mind for a while. I'm glad you liked it.

message 249: by [deleted user] (new)

It will be open the first of September because it is our group read for that month. If you want me to open it up early, I can do that today. :) We are flexible here.

message 250: by [deleted user] (new)

Hehe sounds like me!! :) All the groups here at GR are awesome and fun. I will send you a message when the discussion is open. How does that sound?
