*PPDQs = Person Posting Discussion Questions
I gave up on this book at about 40% last month.. maybe I'll give it another go as I really wanted to like it - the reviews are so good!
I just finished the audiobook, thought it was terrific! Very funny, with loads of energy, and scary too.
Maybe I should've got the audiobook then..lol I'm not sure why I just found it a chore. I had the book for 3 weeks and just couldn't bring myself to keep reading. Maybe I just wasn't in the right headspace at the time. I will try again with this group as I have it down as part of my GR Choice Award challenge
There will be a chapter breakdown posted eventually. You need to do one set of DQs for the 7% Challenge. You can post your review at the end of the "buddy read," if you desire, ❀Oo❀.
I meant write. But, I guess I should amend that to "volunteer." Someone may do them all. **shrugs** Who knows? Or maybe you can join together with others on your Team and write a day's worth together?
I actually picked this up at the library today in hardcover. I'd love to hear the audio. I can take a peek at it and present some different options for a Chapter Breakdown.I'll also see if we can have it not overlap with A Discovery of Witches, Karen.
So will you be the mod running this one Lisa Kay? I did attempt the book once before and although it is alot of pages the type was pretty big.
I haven't picked up A Discovery of witches yet, but I'll do that next week and have a stab at a reading schedule :)

I'm not sure if I'll be the main mod on this or not, Karen. Some of the other mods might join in, too. I'll keep you posted.
I think because of the large type, 75-100 pages per day is fine for me. That would be about 30 minutes of reading.
But I'm happy with whatever pace people prefer as I always have a few books on-the-go at any one time :)

I tend to be behind no matter what (someday I'll take a speed reading class or something) so I'll go with whatever the group wants.
Jex wrote: "I tend to be behind no matter what (someday I'll take a speed reading class or something) so I'll go with whatever the group wants."Agreeing --- I always thought I was a pretty fast reader until I joined GR.
Also, I thought for this to count for 7%, we only had to answer DQs, not actually write up some of the questions.
Ok, but to get the points for as category 4, do we have to create discussion questions or just answer and participate in the discussion.
Well, we are looking at that again. If the books that are being "revisited" have DQs, we may only have one set of "revisted/what did you think/how was this 'buddy read' different than the last" type thing.
We are discussing it.
We are discussing it.

June 2nd Ashlynn. The mods will post a suggested reading schedule just before ; we usually do 50-100 pages per day depending on the book (some books have HUGE font and 100 pages is do-able, whereas for others 100 pages would take hours..lol)

I'll have to see if I can figure out digital loans from my public library. Sounds like an interesting book! :]
@LisaKay/Mods - I'm happy to help out with DQs. You can chuck me on the schedule for whatever day(s) suit
I am on a waiting list for this book at my library. I am hoping it will come in on time?Question: If we can't read a book at the scheduled time can we come back and discuss the questions when we get the book? Could this be applied to the 7% Comp in some way? (I am actually on the waiting list for all 3 botm's for this month ~ frustrating because I want to read them all!)
I've just got this book. It's currently £2.99 on amazon for kindle - might also be on offer in other parts of the world.
It does NOT affect our plans, ❀Oo❀. These are BOMs and were voted on by all NBRC members. But, thank you for letting us know.
Picked mine up at the library today --- it's a bit large since they only have hard covers. Always nice to read and get a workout at the same time :-D
lol JoLene!
It is times like that I love my kindle! Even the paperback is pretty hefty, so I can only imagine what you will be holding :)

I know --- I'm trying not to buy more books when the library has them, but I might need a new rule that says if the book is more than 500 pages --- I can buy on the Kindle. I mean, really --- it's an issue of safety :-D

Synopsis:
Evie O'Neill has been exiled from her boring old hometown and shipped off to the bustling streets of New York City--and she is pos-i-toot-ly thrilled. New York is the city of speakeasies, shopping, and movie palaces! Soon enough, Evie is running with glamorous Ziegfield girls and rakish pickpockets. The only catch is Evie has to live with her Uncle Will, curator of The Museum of American Folklore, Superstition, and the Occult--also known as "The Museum of the Creepy Crawlies."
When a rash of occult-based murders comes to light, Evie and her uncle are right in the thick of the investigation. And through it all, Evie has a secret: a mysterious power that could help catch the killer--if he doesn't catch her first.
