Shattered Promises (Shattered Promises, #1) by Jessica Sorensen
Shattered Promises by Jessica Sorensen

For twenty-one year-old Gemma, life has never been normal. She knows nothing about her past and has been haunted by the same monsters in her nightmares for the last few months. Unemotional and numb to life, she feels disconnected from everyone. Until the very first day she cries. After that, nothing in her life is the same.

Her emotions slowly surface and she starts experiencing love, happiness, and anger, feelings she never knew existed. But they leave her confused and she doesn’t know whether to embrace them or run away from them.

Her life only gets more complicated when she meets Alex. Sexy, arrogant, and secretive, Alex can get under Gemma’s skin like no one can. Yet she’s drawn to him by an invisible connection she has no control over. She’s also seen him before. In her nightmares.

Every part of Gemma’s mind is screaming at her to stay away from Alex, but every other part of her is begging to get close to him. But the closer she gets, the more she realizes Alex knows more about her than he originally let on.

As secrets about her past unravel, Gemma’s life becomes threatened. She needs to figure out what’s going on, before she winds up dead. But the only person she can turn to for answers is the one person she isn’t sure she can trust.

Blood and Stone

You can read more about the series at www.StoneSoldiers.info

C.E. Martin

Summary:

Imprisoned at Alcatraz for over forty years, Dr. Laura Olson dreamed of two things: freedom and meeting back up with the man who spared her life and gave her a chance to serve her country from behind bars. All that changes when a shapeshifter comes to the Rock, ripping out and eating the hearts of the inmates to steal their memories and paranormal abilities. The shapeshifter sweeps through the prison and finally attacks Dr. Olson, stealing her heart and her undead powers before fleeing the country.

When the shapeshifter declares himself to be the second coming of the Mayan blood god Kukulcan to the people of the Yucatan, America's anti-supernatural forces spring into action, recruiting Dr. Olson and giving her a chance for payback.

The vampire now must work with a team of living stone soldiers, a teenager who can freeze objects with her mind and the super soldier who captured her long ago. Can the undead Doctor keep her new team alive long enough to get revenge, or will she succumb to her blood thirst and join with the new Kukulcan?

Kathryn (kathrynmeyergriffith) | 143 comments For the third and last time I'd like to nominate my SF/Horror novel DINOSAUR LAKE. It's about a clever, rogue dinosaur loose in Crater Lake...it's already garnered me 58 reviews, mostly 4 and 5 stars, on Amazon Kindle ( http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00943P0JK#_ ). SOON TO BE IN PRINT!!! Author of 18 novels, Kathryn Meyer Griffith rdgriff@htc.net
Blurb of DINOSAUR LAKE:
An ancient predator has been reborn in the caves beneath Crater Lake
…and it’s hungry.
Ex-cop Henry Shore has been Chief Park Ranger at Crater Lake National Park for eight years and he likes his park and his life the way it’s been. Safe. Tranquil. Predictable. But he’s about to be tested in so many ways. First the earthquakes begin…people begin to go missing…then there’s some mysterious water creature that’s taken up residence in the caves below Crater Lake and it’s not only growing in size, it’s aggressive and cunning…and very hungry.
And it’s decided it likes human beings. To eat.
And it can come up onto land.
So Henry, with the help of his wife, Ann; a young paleontologist named Justin; and a band of brave men, must not only protect his park and his people from the monster but somehow find where it lives and destroy it…before it can kill again. ***

You should make a screenplay of that and pitch it to Asylum pictures or Syfy. They both love making monster movies. I think you have a great, fun B Movie there!

Kevin Howard | 13 comments I would like to nominate my second novel, Precipice: The Beginning.

Precipice The Beginning (Book One) by Kevin J. Howard
Precipice The Beginning by Kevin J. Howard

The End is only the Beginning....

It wasn't the first time Lieutenant Travis Daniels had been far from his wife and son. Leading an elite team on countless missions, dodging death at every turn--it was what he was trained to do. And returning to his family was always his driving force... but this time might be different. Imprisoned for an unsanctioned intrusion into a hot zone, Travis and his elite team took a deal to assist in the colonization of Mars to evade the death penalty. While stationed there, Travis' only source of sanity were the brief video conversations he was allowed with his family. When the last transmission received showed choppy images of the city in darkness and blurs of humanoid creatures running through the streets, Travis and his team must decide to either stay on Mars or find a way back to his family--unknowing of the hell that Earth has become.
